APPROVAL OF APRIL 7, 2014, MINUTES Motion: Dee Fegan motioned to approve the minutes. Tim Watson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. MEMBERSHIP REPORT John Doulgeris reviewed the financial performance of membership as of October 20, 2014. The following reports were discussed and included in the meeting packet:  Summarized the Monthly Billing Summary for January 1 through September 30, 2014 – 85.37 percent retention versus 86 percent goal.  Reviewed the total members and chapter breakdown through September 30, 2014 – 2,569 total members. OLD BUSINESS A. New PRLA Team Positions John Longstreet reviewed the organizational chart and introduced Amy Daniels as the Vice President of Membership Development and Tom King as the Director of Membership Development – West. B. Partner Program Update  Manufacturer Rebate Program—grossed $221,843 in rebate money since program inception (Q4 2011). John Longstreet thanked representatives from Prime Source Purchasing for being present at the meeting and for their sponsorship. He encouraged members to discuss either their current rebate program or potential enrollment with the staff of Prime Source. 
BMI—members have saved $179,040 in music licensing fees through 2013. Grant money earned by PRLA was $40,902 through 2013. C. Dues Invoice Redesign John Doulgeris provided an update on the new membership invoice format. Members may now select from 3 different membership levels: Basic (base rate dues amount), Industry Supporter (includes PEC investment) and Champion of the Industry (includes Educational Foundation investment). D. Job Board Update Based on research with other SRAs, the idea is not feasible. The PRLA website target audience is members and prospective members, not the general public. VI. VII. NEW BUSINESS A. Membership Survey Results Summary John Longstreet reviewed results from the membership survey which included 120 respondents. He reported that minimum wage/tipped wage was the most important legislative issue identified. Legislative advocacy was rated as the most valuable benefit offered to members. The government affairs committee will hold a retreat in December 2014 to prioritize future legislative efforts. He also reported that legal services was the most important service that should be offered to members. B. Membership Drive Update Christine Preuss discussed the membership drive phone bank that was conducted with the Central Chapter in October 2014. Seven members took part in calling non‐member restaurants and hotels. Two new members joined that day, and several positive leads were generated as a result. C. 2015 Membership Development Plan Summary Amy Daniels discussed the membership sales and marketing plan summary for 2015. This includes direct selling, referrals (peer‐to‐peer outreach), campaigns (increasing social media presence), enhancing value added benefits (free legal services and SESAC discount), enhancing membership value (two Quick Bites issues per month) and membership development team enhancement. D. Hall of Fame Award Christine Preuss discussed a Hall of Fame Award that is being used by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. This award would highlight two to four members each year and would be used in addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award. MEETING ADJOURNMENT Motion: Joe Campbell motioned to adjourn the meeting at 1:25 p.m. Dee Fegan seconded and the motion passed unanimously. NEXT MEETING: PRLA Spring Membership Meeting April 26‐28, 2015 Peddler’s Village, Lahaska, PA Minutes submitted by Christine Preuss, Member Services Manager 2
