Meet Our Honorees
Communal Pillar Award
Mr. Yerachmiel Jacobson is a longtime supporter of Yagdil Torah. When we first
approached him for help in sustaining a shiur about a year and a half ago, he graciously
took it into consideration and subsequently sponsored it.
The sponsorship given by Yerachmiel was in memory of his father. The shiur, that
continues to this day, keeps Rabbi Betzalel a"h Jacobson’s legacy alive. It is, to an
extent, due to him and yibdlacht"a his generous son that so much Torah is continuously
learned on a regular basis.
Yerachmiel is known for his warmth and his giving demeanor; he is involved in generating
a tremendous amount of Tzedaka. He is a genuine person, loved by his community, a
friend to all. He began his journey with us as a sponsor, but now he is a partner.
We are proud to have Mr. Yerachmiel Jacobson as an honoree at Yagdil Torah’s dinner.

Vision and Teaching Award
Rabbi Mendy Wolf is one of Yagdil Torah’s earliest supporters. He was, without a doubt,
the guiding light for the birth of Yagdil Torah. It was he who presented the strategy
upon which our organization actually launched, and since then he has continued to
dispense useful advice and inspiration.
In our early days, Rabbi Wolf was always willing to give classes whenever necessary.
At that point, “necessary” meant about six times per week! Many may have looked
for excuses after a while, but not Rabbi Wolf. His devotion and dedication remained
steadfast. Today, he is recognized as a master teacher and respected by all who attend
his classes.
Rabbi Wolf is known for his dedication to the community and his shlichus. It is easy to
see that in every endeavor in which he partakes, he gives his all. One of these endeavors
is Yagdil Torah.
It is our privilege to honor him at the Yagdil Torah dinner. On this momentous occasion,
let us all recognize and salute a young pioneer of Limmud Torah!

Yagdil Torah: Center for Communal and Individual Study
Yagdil Torah is the all-in-one address for learning needs. Whether you need a place to
learn, a shiur to attend, online and mobile resources, or some inspiration to give you a
push, Yagdil Torah is there to make learning practical and geshmak.
Some of our activities include:
Shiurim
Ongoing Weekly Shiurim:
Our series of continuous shiurim allows for students to delve into complex segments in
Torah with newfound depth and insight, along with better understanding.
Monthly/ Bi Monthly Topical Lectures:
Whether it’s a topic you always wanted to get to the bottom of, or a contemporary
issue that bears studying, our topical lectures regularly attract hundreds of attendees,
generating greater interest in learning.
Reputable Content:
Regardless of the setting, Yagdil Torah has built a reputation of delivering engaging,
relevant content that is tackled from a provocative angle, heightening interest and
excitement.
Programs
Find-a-Chavrusa Program:
Sets learners up with partners of similar age, location, level and interest.
L-initiative:
Collects people’s Torah Study “wish lists” and attempts to actualize them (in midst of
development).
Online Learning Resources:
Provides downloadable audio and transcribed shiurim, as well as links to many other
learning sites.
Phone Line:
Enables access to your favorite speakers and topics simply by calling the Yagdil Torah
phone line.
Shiurim Assistance Program:
Supports new and existing shiurim affiliated or not affiliated with Yagdil Torah with the
necessary resources and materials.

Divides the Shas amongst Anash from all levels and backgrounds annually on Yud
Tes Kislev, and provides the necessary resources for its study throughout the year to
ensure its completion.

At the heart of Yagdil Torah’s goal of making learning accessible are our numerous,
multi lingual publications distributed throughout the
community and beyond.
Chassidishe Yomim Tovim Publications:
To help with the observance of these special days, Yagdil
Torah provides engaging materials pertinent to each
occasion..
Inspiration to Learn Publications:
One of the most challenging aspects to Limmud HaTorah is
not the learning itself, but the motivation to get into it. To
that end, we have a wide array of inspirational material,
with stories, quotes, anecdotes, halacha, meditations and
more.
Calendar:
Showcases our activities and eases one’s ability to keep on
top of their learning commitments and opportunities.
Heichal Halimmud
A Torah Oasis
Location:
Centrally located in the heart of Crown Heights, the Heichal
Hallimud is the perfect place to learn- whether you have
time for a quick “drop in,” a regular learning session during
your lunch break, or an intensive evening of learning. Its
location provides it with a strong communal element and
great familiarity.

Hours:
Open almost all hours of the day (6:00 AM until 2:00 AM), the Heichal ensures that
no matter when you find the time or energy to learn, you will almost always be able
to have an outlet for it.
Environment:
Stepping into the Heichal is nothing short of enlightening. The atmosphere is warm,
heimish, quiet, clean, peaceful and highly conducive to learning.

Resources:
The Heichal contains an extensive library of seforim, which is continuously being
updated with new and unique additions, as well as a computer with more than 41,000
seforim enabling easy browsing and searching.
Sustenance:
Fully stocked with tea and coffee, the Heichal offers that lift which is sometimes
needed whilst learning.

Shiur:
A special room for Shiurim is available for anyone who wishes
to learn in a larger group.
Coordination Is On The Rise
Over the last several months, Yagdil Torah has worked to
improve the coordination between different Mosdos in the
Crown Heights area. We are not only working with the Mosdos
separately, but we are also trying to work jointly with them.
In addition to coordination, Yagdil Torah is emphasizing unity
among the myriads of Crown Heights shuls. Thus far, we have
received positive responses and are working to bring everyone
together. We are currently in the process of implementing a
program which will unite members from many different shuls
in one place, at least once per month, for a learning session and
refreshments. IYH this will grow until our community is once
again permeated by achdus and oneness.
Our Future
Yagdil Torah never stands still. Boruch Hashem since last
year some of the items listed as 'Our Future' came to fruition,
namely the new Heichal Hallimmud and the Daily Shiur. While
we continue to uphold and improve all of our existing projects
and programs, we are working on several new ones. Once they
are developed we will unveil them to you in full. However, here
are a few hints:

An international program which will increase Torah
learning worldwide.

Do you want to organize a shiur? Do you have the
people who are interested, and even a maggid shiur? Is all
you need now... a sponsor?
• Increased Chavrusa Learning.

Why We Do It
On an individual level:
The tools facilitated by Yagdil Torah enable individuals of
the community to make Torah a more central aspect of their
lives, and in the process, reap the benefits it offers on a
personal level. Direction, inspiration, motivation, intellectual
fulfillment, spiritual freedom, contentment and brachos in
abundance - to list a few - are some of the positive aspects
that accompany Limmud HaTorah, and have most likely
been felt and experienced by all at some point during their
interaction with it. Yagdil Torah hopes its work will enable
more and more individuals to take advantage.
On a familial level:
Yagdil Torah believes that the best way to ensure our children
will handle the increasing amount of challenges faced from the
outside world is by establishing a strong sense of “Torah” within
the home. Emphasis should be placed not only on sheltering and
protecting, but rather a more positive approach should be taken
where the beauty of Torah is constantly revealed and lived by the
parents in a genuine and passionate way. Yagdil Torah aims to
provide both the inspiration to enable parents to maintain this
environment in the home, as well as the knowledge and skills to
make them able to practically learn with their children.
On a communal level:
Of course, at the end of the day, all the efforts we place towards
the chinuch of our children still need to stand the tests of
the environment they find themselves in and the pressures
they encounter on a daily basis. Influencing each and every
family on an intimate and personal level automatically
leads to a general impact on the community. A community
generally inspired by Torah, a community which positions it
at the center of all their activities, is one where a parent can
rest assured that the values they instill in their children at
home will be reiterated by the community and society the
children find themselves in. A community such as this, where
raising chassidishe children is not just a chance but almost a
guarantee, is the kind Yagdil Torah hopes to inspire through
its work.

When you meet a Jew in the
street you should ask him if
he already has a fixed time for
Torah study. If he already has
a fixed time for Torah study,
then you must try to influence
him to increase in Torah study.
Better yet, try to influence him
to become a teacher of Torah.

have a set time for Torah study,
you must try to persuade him
with “words coming from the
heart” and “with all your heart
and all your soul” to set aside a
fixed time for Torah study.
