Director
W
elcome to the 34th Annual Nappanee Apple
Festival! Our committee members have spent
countless hours planning this year’s festival and
we hope you enjoy all the events throughout the
weekend.
I would like to thank the many sponsors who
provide the needed financial support that allow us
to bring so many attractions to the festival each
year. In addition, a huge thank you to all of our
volunteers, the City of Nappanee, the Nappanee
Chamber of Commerce and the local residents.
We hope you relax, have fun and enjoy the
festival!
Sam Beachy,
Director

Nappanee
business
couple lauds
the community
and now a
community
honors them
as the 2009
Nappanee
Apple Festival
Grand Marshals. Arden and Evidene Graber have
participated in previous parades, but are humbled
with the honor of leading this year’s grand
procession.
The Graber’s have not only supported the annual
festivity with sponsorships, but they really enjoy
being festival goers and participants in the
happenings that occur throughout the four day
event.
They are strong supporters of the Nappanee
Chamber of Commerce – Arden having served as
Chairman for four years and now on the Board.
They contend that the best networking in a
community comes with solid participation, and
the more you do the stronger the benefits to your
business and the Chamber. Evidene also enjoys her
participation on the Main and Market Christmas
Committee.
Arden and Evidene know what it is to come out
of the ashes of adversity due to a business fire
in January 2008. Up stepped a community and
business colleagues with the use of anything they
needed and help with the relocation and cleanup.
The Graber’s have five children and are expecting
their eighth grandchild in September. The girls,
Donna and Myra live out of state. The three sons,
Devin, Brice and Aaron are fully involved in the
company.
For 30 years Graber Flooring Studio has been
a thriving business and for 16 years Arden and
Evidene have been sole owners.
Are the Graber’s happy to be on Main Street in
downtown Nappanee. You bet!

Borkholder Dutch Village
#18 on Apple Festival Map
Quality handcrafted furniture and
home products have been staples of the
Fall Furniture Festival for six years,
and 2009 will offer more of the same.
The Festival presents dozens of vendors.
Many are skilled craftsmen of custom
hardwood furniture, some sell retail furniture,
while others produce crafts and home products.
A haystack supper is on the menu for
Friday night, with a sausage gravy and biscuit
breakfast served on Saturday morning.
Proceeds from the food sales go to the
local Amish Special Education fund.
For more information call (800) 873-0583.
