Greetings from Teresa
Exciting things are happening in the kitchen!
Rebecca Sachen has joined us as our Director of
Dining Services. Rebecca is in the process of
building her team and has been talking to residents
about what they are looking for in their dining
experience. Rebecca is currently working off of
menus created by a Chef from a Sister
Community in Nevada and is gradually
adding in her own creations. She is in
the process of creating her own menus
which will be submitted to a nutritionist
for final approval. I am hearing great
things about Rebecca from Residents and Team
Members and look forward to amazing things to
come!

World!
I am thrilled to report that we have had eight
new residents move in for each of the last two
consecutive months! That is 16 new residents in
Assisted Living and Memory Care combined!
Welcome to our new residents!
Look who ‘hopped’ by for Easter!
St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans!
By now, I hope you have met most of them and
helped to make them feel comfortable in their new
home here at Skylark! To all of our new residents, a
huge WELCOME! We are here for you, residents
and team members alike, to guide you, escort you
to activities, the dining room, beauty salon, or
wherever it is that you may wish to go, and
generally assure that you are feeling comfortable in
your new surroundings!
We are growing each day, not only in our
resident base, but as a team at Skylark Assisted
Living and Memory Care. It really does “take a
village” or in our case a “team” of fantastic,
dedicated workers to help all to feel welcome and
content in their home here at Skylark. I am grateful
to all of our team for the support and grateful as
well to the residents who also support the values
and principles that we live by each day!
It is so lovely to hear such positive remarks about
Skylark when I am in the community of Ashland and
the surrounding areas. We are growing each day,
not only in our resident base, but as a team at
Skylark Assisted Living and Memory Care. Our
building is beautiful and inviting and with the
warmth and care that our Skylark team provides,
we certainly are “Caring People, Serving People,
Improving Lives.”

Life Enrichment Highlights
Skylark’s Life Enrichment Department offers a wide
variety of groups, ranging from Chair Tai Chi to Book
Group. Each and every group is a great opportunity to
get involved and stay active. Today we want to
highlight one group that is offered here called Sage’s
Play.
Gaea Yudron is the director of Sage’s Play, whose
programs and creative expressions support well-being
and conscious aging. Gaea is passionate about the
need for fresh perspectives and programs to empower
older adults. These reflections and the creative friction
involved in them led her to create Sage’s Play as a
vehicle for age-positive services and programs in 2008.
Gaea has been coming to Skylark twice a month for
1 hour sessions – These groups usually take place
within the Private Dining Room. Skylark is honored to
have Gaea visit and supply participants with realistic
tools in conscious aging. Her passion to empower
older adults is much appreciated.
Welcome Becky!
Skylark’s new Memory Care
Nurse/Wellness Director,
Becky, moved to Ashland from
Twin Falls, ID this past year.
She has vacationed on the coast
for several years in Oregon and
has fallen in love with it. Her
husband and she have dreamed of moving to
Ashland some day and plan to retire in the next few
years where they plan to spend lots of time on the
coast! Becky has three children, ten grandchildren
and two great grandchildren. Her family is the
most important part of her life. Becky became a
nurse over 27 years ago and has always had a
passion for the elderly. She had a very special
grandma that she took care of who had Alzheimer’s
disease. She has a lot of experience taking care of
individuals with
dementia. Becky is very excited to be a part of the
Skylark team, especially within Memory Care.
We encourage you to check out one of Gaea’s
groups here at Skylark - Please refer to the Activity
Calendar for when Sage’s Play is coming next.

In astrology, those born between April 1–19 are Rams
of Aries. As the first sign of the zodiac, Arians charge
out of the gate with energy, confidence, power, and
zeal. As pioneers, Arians are unafraid of the
unknown. As eternal optimists, no odds are ever
considered insurmountable. Those born between
April 20–30 are Bulls of Taurus. Bulls show a steady
persistence in endeavors both professional and
personal, and after working hard, are not shy about
rewarding themselves for a job well done.
Special birthday wishes to our
