Perfect for your Valentine’s Day preparations!
The Sisters at St. Joseph Residence with the help of three earth angels, Vicky,
Eileen and Ginny have decided to open up their recipe books and dining
room to create an afternoon of candy making, cookie decorating and fun!
Twelve lucky people will work alongside the Sisters and their volunteers in
the beautiful St. Joseph Residence dining room to prepare, eat and take
home some of their favorite treats and recipes.
• A Saturday in January or February
• For 12 people
• From 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

THE SHEPHERD’S TREE
This tree encompasses everything that the company (Built For Man)
stands for as a brand: eco-friendly, fair-trade, and a thing of beauty. In
lieu of a star or angel, the “Shepherd’s Tree” features a shepherd boy
ornament that sits atop the tree. The shepherd boy looks after his herd,
baby-alpaca and yak ornaments handmade by artisans in a village in rural
Peru or Nepal. Due to the deteriorating ozone layer, many impoverished
people living in high altitude Nepali villages are suffering from cataracts
and blindness. We placed sunglasses on the shepherd boy in hopes of
bringing this issue to light. We will use our designer allowance for this
tree to empower the people of these villages and help them to become
self-sustainable. This tree encompasses the spirit of giving during the
holiday season and is sure to bring joy to people in many corners of the

Santa was most pleased with last year’s tree “Christmas in the Vineyard.”
He especially enjoyed the nearly 200 bottles of Washington State wines
that magically appeared at its base. Okay, Santa didn’t personally enjoy the
wines – that happiness belonged to the lucky tree purchaser and his family
and friends. This year, Santa asked us for something of a repeat, so we said
Okay. He wanted more, though – wines from all over the world. Fine, we told him, but only if we can use your sleigh for the job. He said Yes, and off
