MESSAGE
FROM
BENARI
JEWELERS
Welcome to the spring issue of Benari Jewelers Magazine. We have
worked hard over the winter to refresh our selection of world-class
jewelry in order to bring you the newest classics and the very latest
contemporary styles. We travel the world in search of unique pieces
for our showcases, choosing only those made to the highest standards
of craftsmanship.
In this issue, we bring you an inside look at the latest from our
favorite luxury designer brands, including David Yurman’s Chatelaine
collection of extraordinary checkerboard-cut gems; Marco Bicego’s
luminous Lunaria collection of jewelry, now with lapis lazuli; dazzling
diamonds from Hearts On Fire; and the latest from Rolex, the most
coveted watch brand in the world. We also bring you a glimpse of the
latest creations from Mikomoto, the inventor and design-master of the
cultured pearl, and the fun, everyday rings of none other than Gucci.
Because jewelry is not always about adding major showpieces to
your collection, we have also added a special Gift Guide section this
year to focus on our wonderful selection of treasures priced at under
$1,000. And our new “Moms, Dads and Grads” section showcases hand
selected pieces that we think are equal to the occasion for the special
people in your life.
All of us at Benari Jewelers would like to thank you for sharing
your joy in commemorating life’s special moments and for allowing
us the opportunity to share with you our vision and passion for
exquisite jewelry.
Sincerely,

Gucci’s modern glamour
Gucci glams up its signature styles with diamonds and a new ambassador
Gucci has been famous for its in imitable style since 1921. From
its iconic loafers to its classic handbags and jewelry, Gucci has
consistently demonstrated a special talent for combining classic and
avant-garde styles for a look that is both highly recognizable and
utterly unique.
This combination is what makes Gucci’s jewelry both glamorous
and highly wearable for everyday occasions. The brand’s jewelry
collections have become favorites for their versatility.
This year, Gucci is adding new styles to two of its most iconic
collections, the Marina Chain and the Horsebit. The Marina Chain,
often referred to as the “Gucci link,” is a link chain designed as a
nod to the yachting world, including the lines or ropes of pleasure

craft. The latest pieces, in 18k yellow or 18k rose gold, interpret
the familiar motif in a contemporary style. Some pieces are adorned
with the sparkle of diamonds.
Gucci has also added three new pieces to the Horsebit collection.
Like the Marina Chain, the Horsebit collection was designed in
the 1950s, and the motif was first used as a decorative element
on bags, shoes and leather goods. The Horsebit motif was inspired
by the equestrian aristocracy of Florence, Italy, the city where
Gucci was founded in 1921. Today it shines as a favorite jewelry
motif. Although the new designs are slimmer, they are designed to
complement all the pieces in the existing collection. They include a
bracelet, drop earrings and a ring crafted in 18k yellow or pink gold.

Marco Bicego adds a burst of color to the Lunaria collection
Marco Bicego’s Lunaria collection, introduced two years ago, has become a favorite
among fans of the master jeweler and designer. It was born from Marco’s love of
nature, and inspired by the natural Lunaria flower with its unique flat discshaped seed pods. The jewelry collection’s gold petal-like discs resemble the
natural flower pods. The surfaces of the “pods” are engraved using the brand’s
signature Bulino technique, a satin finish that lends itself particularly well
to the motif because it creates an organic look.
Now, Marco Bicego is excited to introduce Lunaria Lapis, an
extension of the Lunaria collection, updated with the addition of
beautiful lapis lazuli stones. This stunning, deep blue stone has been
used in both art and jewelry as far back as 500 B.C. Known for
its dark blue color and flecks of gold, lapis has historically been
referred to as the “stone of the sky” with its clouds of golden
pyrite resembling constellations in the night.

According to legend, this semiprecious stone was revered as a
slice of the sky given by God to man. With that in mind,
the Egyptians often incorporated lapis into amulets and
scarabs, ornaments used to protect against danger
and evil spirits. The Babylonians used lapis to
adorn the Ishtar Gate, one of the eight gates to
the inner city of Babylon, giving the façade a
jewel-like sheen. Michelangelo even blended
lapis into his pigments to paint the sky of
the Sistine Chapel. Marco is proud to incorporate this
iconic stone into his core collection and
offer those who wear his jewelry their very
own little piece of the sky!

he Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master has been in the Rolex
line since 1992, but the new model, the Yacht-Master 40
in 18k gold, represents three firsts — it is the first with a
black dial, the first with an elastomer strap (normally Rolex watches
are fitted with bracelets) and the first in 18k gold. The case of the
new model is 18k rose gold (Everose, as Rolex calls its proprietary
alloy) with a ceramic (Cerachrom) bezel. Previously, the YachtMaster was available only in stainless steel, with a platinum bezel.
The elastomer strap was the talk of the watch industry when it was
introduced. It’s called Oysterflex, and is made of a very soft, flexible
elastomer with an internal cushion system that makes it extremely
close fitting and comfortable. The rubber is fitted over metal blades
made of a titanium and nickel alloy, so you get the strength of metal
combined with the comfort of rubber.

Roberto Coin’s newest designs
for daily-wear exude Italian flair
As America’s favorite Italian jewelry designer,
Roberto Coin never fails to delight with new
collections every year. When Roberto Coin began to
design and produce jewelry in 1977 on behalf of some of the most
prestigious international brands of fine jewelry, he found himself
quickly becoming one of the most sought-after designers in the
business. He eventually launched his own brand in 1996, and
has never looked back.
The New Barocco collection is a new favorite,
and one of the most three-dimensional of the
Roberto Coin collections. It is fabricated in
woven 18k gold, that is crafted by hand
and punctuated with diamonds. New
pieces include a collar necklace in 18k

The Pois Moi Collection
Coin’s signature collection is the Pois Moi, which is distinctive both
for its shape and finish. The shape of most of the earrings, rings,
bangles, pendants and cuff links in the collection was inspired by
the rounded-off square television monitors of the 1950s. Coin’s
modern take on this retro shape is both refined and avantgarde, and the collection has become an instant classic.
Small bangles are perfect for

Pois Moi collection.
Gold is the primary element, but many pieces
are set with diamonds and other gemstones. Many
feature paveé diamond details. Each piece includes
a hidden 0.3 carat ruby, a signature of the designer,
meant to bring good luck to the wearer.

Six updated classics with
enduring style for everyday
wear
Classic design never goes out of style. These everyday watches will look as fresh years from now as they
do today, and that is because they are designed to stand the test of time. But classic does not always mean
conservative or boring. Contemporary classic designs can be chic and interesting without being too over-theedge. Every woman’s watch wardrobe should contain at least one classic timepiece that can be worn every
day, with any outfit. There are certain elements you should look for in an everyday watch. Diamonds should
be positioned as accents only — as markers on the dial or set around the bezel, rather than as full pavé, as in
a jewelry watch. Roman numerals or subtle indexes are perfect. The classic day watch should also be of the
highest quality, sturdy enough to take daily wear and to remain scratch-free and fully functional for most
occasions. The strap or bracelet should be functional and durable. Each of the classic watches featured here
is made in Switzerland and represents the highest standard in timepiece manufacturing.
1. TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber 9
This watch is the epitome of modern classic, with a mother-of-pearl dial, diamond indexes —
including a double diamond marker at 12 o’clock — and a sparkling diamond bezel. The 12
diamonds on the dial total 0.10ct, and the 56 diamonds on the bezel weigh 0.55ct. The watch
features faceted and polished hour and minute hands, and a stainless steel case and bracelet.
It contains the Sellita Caliber SW1000 automatic, with hours, minutes, seconds and date
functions. It has a 40-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 100 meters.
2. Movado Museum Sapphire
Movado’s Sapphire model with diamonds is sized for comfort, with a
28mm wide stainless steel case set with 36 accent diamonds, including
11 diamond markers on the dial and diamonds set into the bracelet
attachments, for a total of 0.183 carat. The round silver mirrored dial
features a silver toned dot at 12 o’clock, the signature element of Movado’s
Museum collection. It is fitted with a pyramid-style steel link bracelet with
a butterfly clasp.
3. Breitling Galactic 36 Automatic
Breitling has created a model blending the legendary sports watch elements
of its core collection with an ultra-feminine design inspired by the world
of luxury aviation. The mechanical movement of the sporty, versatile and
refined Galactic 36 Automatic is housed in a generous steel case. The bezel
displays the signature Breitling numerals engraved on a polished or satinbrushed background. The dial is available in six colors, and the strap is a
choice of leather, crocodile leather, lizard skin or a steel bracelet.

4. TAG Heuer Link Caliber 16
Like many TAG Heuer watches, the Link is a sports watch, but it is a sleek
dress/sports watch, with tone-on-tone grey dial and chronograph totalizer
subdials. The only color is the red tip of the central chronograph seconds hand.
It contains an automatic chronograph movement, the Caliber 16, with a 42hour power reserve. The 43mm case and bracelet are made of polished and
fine-brushed stainless steel. The fixed bezel has a tachymeter scale.
5. Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles
The Chemin Des Tourelles Automatic takes its
name from the street in Le Locle, Switzerland,
where the Tissot factory was established in
1907, and still resides today. The 42mm case
is made of stainless steel or rose gold color,
with a silver dial. The movement is the

to 50 meters.
6. Ball Trainmaster Roman
Ball Watch is renowned for its extraordinary system
of luminescence, with micro gas tubes lighting up
the hour, minute and seconds hands and dial for
night reading capability. It contains the automatic
Caliber BALL RR1102, driving hours, minutes,
sweep seconds, day and date. The dial is set with
classic Roman numerals. The 41mm case is made of

LUVENTE loves life
The celebration of life’s loveliest momements is best expressed in color
Luvente jewelry is all about the passion of colored gemstones. It is a French word that means to love the events of life.
Luvente celebrates the moments of our lifes: births, marriages, anniversaries, graduations and successes. The Luvente collection
is a celebration of colored gemstones, an essential component of fine jewelry. We reflect our individuality with the clothes and
jewelry we wear, and color is an important component of this expression. While the biggest trend in jewelry is color, it involves
not just the traditional gems of ruby, emerald and sapphire. Today, color comes from a wide variety of gemstones, including
the large families of tourmaline, spinel, jade, garnet, and topaz, as well as tanzanite, iolite, opal, peridot and morganite, plus
the more affordable ”semi-precious” gems of the versatile quartz family, such as amethyst, citrine, prasiolite and rock crystal.
While the classic look of white diamonds may be “forever,” colorful gemstone jewelry offers a different approach to style. Even
a simple, classic pair of gemstone stud earrings can dress up or down a particular outfit, depending on your mood. They are fun
and fanciful. With colorful jewelry as an accent to fashion, you are communicating both the power of color and the power of
your personality.

A RING THAT’S RIGHT FOR
Your wedding band represents many things:
it is a symbol of love, an expression of personal
style and a token of commitment. It should be
chosen with both style and durability in mind.
Here is a selection of the latest in bridal jewelry
from Benari Jewelers to help you select the one
that best symbolizes the personal journey you are
about to undertake.
One of the hottest trends over the past few
years has been the increased choices of metals and
colors. You could even stack on multiple bands
in different colors, creating a statement that is
as individual as you are. Gold is the traditional
material for wedding bands. This symbolic metal
is available primarily in yellow, white and rose,
although other colors such as blackened and
brown gold can be found. Gold can be finished
in a variety of ways — from polished to matte.
Platinum has also become a popular choice for
wedding bands. It is one of the most durable and
expensive of the precious metals, with a beautiful
greyish-white luster. White gold and platinum
are still the preferred colors, but rose gold, once
thought to be a passing fad, has gained in popularity
over the years. It is a simple way to take a classic
engagement ring design and add just enough color
to give your ring that exceptional look.
Classic weddings bands have
made a comeback. Traditional,
understated rings are
usually classic yellow gold
or platinum, and have
clean, smooth lines, that
can be flat or rounded.

Additional designs on the band may include a small
bit of milgrain work. There is also a growing trend
toward adding bling to the men’s wedding band.
This look once appealed to a small group of men,
but now, with the many available options, more
men are considering adding gemstones. Ring stones
include white, black, grey or cognac diamonds, and
even sapphire. They are usually flush-set on the
band so they don’t get in the way. Designs span a
range, from a single stone setting to a subtle row
of diamonds on the edge of the ring, or having
the entire band encrusted with stones. Another
development in men’s wedding band styles is getting
two bands. Women have always had two rings
— their engagement ring and their wedding band —
and now men can too.
Your wedding ring is a reminder of your special day,
as well as a symbol of your unending commitment to
your partner. You will wear it for the rest of your life,
so make sure you choose wisely — picking the right
ring will take some time and effort on your part, but
if done well, it will be worth the effort.
