Texas Coronelas Creep Into Top 15
A Texas Escaramuza team made
their mark on the last day of preliminaries at the National Charro Championships in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico.
“Coronelas de Texas” recieved
311.3 points, to move them in to the
fifteenth spot in the ladie’s part of the
tournament.
The top 18 esaramuza teams at the
end of the preliminaries will move on
to the semifinals.
“Las Román de Gómez Palacio”
from Durango, with 279.3 points
The Texas team, hailing from Fort
Worth, includes: Yvette Nicole, Kristal
Díaz, Vanesa Rodríguez, Lourdes Muñoz, Mirna Carrasco, Sulema Canales,
Hilda Garcia, and Hilda Carrasco.

Pachuca ready for National Charro Championships
What better place to celebrate the
charro and the bicentennial of Mexican
Independence than in the “cuna de Charreria” (birth place of Charreria).
In a setting that will be full of emotions Nov. 3 – 11 during the LXVI Congressional and National Charro Championship “Bicenternatio – Pachuca 2010.”
The lienzo that hosts this year’s
championship is remodeled with a fullcovered roof and a holding capacity of
nearly 8 thousand people. The Hidalguenses will be on the fore-front thanks
to their governor, Lic. Miguel Angel
Osorio Chong.
Chong, along with the historic organization of the Mexican Federation of
Charreria, A.C. led by Lic. Jaime Castruita Padilla, is excited to provide Charreria
for all!

LXVI Congressional and National
Charro Championship “Pachuca 2010”;
and to help add to the celebration of the
Bicentennial of Mexican Independence.

Sporting Activities:
• There will be 39 eliminatory charreadas, where 117 teams will participate.
• There will be 3 charreadas a day,
starting at noon, evening and night,
all while incorporating the escaramuza competition.
• 84 escaramuza teams will participate,
two teams per charreada.
• 15 charro will compete in the “Charro Completo” (Complete Charro)
category on Wed. Nov. 17th in three
charreadas with five competitors in
each; two escaramuza teams will ride
in each charreada.
• The top 18 teams will advance to the
quarterfinals; from there the top nine
teams pass on to the semifinals.
• In the case of escaramuzas, the top
18 teams will move on to the semifinals
• The finals will include 3 charro
teams, 5 escaramuza teams and 3
charro completos.
The Mexican Federation of Charreria
expects 300,000 visitors at the Congressional National Championship and even
more people watching live stream online.

California Charros Move on to
Semi-finals
Monday’s last charreada left California charro team, La Noria Vallarta on
track to move on to the next round of the
National Charro Tournament in Pachuca,
Hidalgo, Mexico.
Monday, the day before eliminations,
La Noria Vallarta scored 225 points,
enough for them to move on to the next
round.
With 226 points, Charros de Mexicali B.C.N, placed first in the charreada,
followed by la Noria Vallarta and Tarimbaro Michoacan with 172 points.
In Monday’s final charreada, Escaramuza Villa Dorada of New Mexico
scored 293.66 points, while Escaramuza
De Caliente de Tijuana, B.C.N were
disqualified for having more than three
crashes during their routine.
La Noria Vallarta’s successful night
started with a 34 point slide by Gustavo
Santos.
Vallarta didn’t make any points in
piales but with Vicente Rojas’ 31 points,
Eduardo Lopez’ 27 points, and Ramón
Jara’s 13 points, Vallarta had a total of 71
points in colas.
Humberto Márquez recieved 18
points for his bull ride.
In the terna, Ramiro Gurrola recieved 26 points lazo a la cabeza and
Ramón Jara 29 points pial.
Jinete Humberto Márquez recieved
11 points for the jinete de yegua.
In Manganas de Pie, Ramón Jara had
to 16 point catches and Ramiro Gurrloa
added 22 more with a mangana a caballo.
To end off the night, Vicente Rojas recieved 25 points for his paso de la
muerte.
