through all our
committees, and
they do an amazing
job. Members
know, and have

accomplish specific and strategic goals
throughout the year as well as exploring
additional opportunities to promote area
businesses and foster a pro-business
environment. However, I thought I should
share accomplishments you may not
expect, or know about.
Your Chamber represents the
membership’s best interests during
legislative session by supporting
legislation that supports and promotes
business while opposing legislation
that are job killers or that may create
unnecessary burdens to businesses.
Your Chamber staff also represents the
business community with the County and
City Commissions on actions that affect
the business community. We provide
testimony on development, ordinances,
and provide input on a variety of plans
to make sure business interests are well
represented.
The Chamber also does more than talk
about development. The Chamber was a
founding member, along with the Home
Builders Association and the Association
of REALTORS, of the Development
Process Task Force. This partnership’s
main goal is to identify impediments to
the development process, work to help
streamline the process, and maintain
transparency.
The Chamber was also a founding
member of the Downtown Development
Partnership. The primary purpose of
the partnership is to serve as a catalyst
for collaboration and development in
the Downtown Master Plan area. We all
work together to accomplish the City’s
Downtown Master Plan and to advise
the City Commission about the best use
of Downtown Tax Increment Financing
District funds.
The Chamber also has representation
on the Board of Directors for Sweetgrass
Development, the Great Falls Community
Food Bank, Uptown Optimist Club,
and the Policeman Foundation. We
have representation with our military
friends on the Public/Public, Public/
Private Partnership designed to improve
communications, activities and cooperative
partnerships on areas of common interests.
The Chamber, along with the Tourism
Business Improvement District (TBID)
and the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau
(CVB) have formed a Partnership and
agreed to partner on improving the tourism
sector of our local economy. Through this
newly formed partnership, these separate
entities will promote tourism with a strong
and unified voice.
Although the Chamber’s primary
responsibility is to the membership, we are
also involved in supporting our community
as a whole so it continues to be the best
great place to do business and to live for
individuals and families. Your Chamber
does so many good things and continues
to leave no stone unturned finding other
opportunities.

After serving at the Montana Air
National Guard and also a former
administrator of the Montana Disaster
and Emergency Services, Brad joined the
Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce as
President and Chief Executive Officer in
January of this year.
Ms. Roxy has been with us since 2007
and provides all manner of support to
the staff and Chamber committee’s while
organizing and ensuring efficient operation
of the Chamber office. She maintains the
member database and provides support for
all Chamber functions and events.
Ms. Joann has been with us since 2011.
She maintains membership levels and
provides valuable resources to members as
well as connects businesses/organizations
with Chamber members.

Program, Presentation of Quarterly and
Annual Awards and Sponsorship and support
of Global Strike Challenge and other events.

Leadership Great Falls
is a community-wide
program designed to
identify, educate and
motivate potential leaders
for the betterment of Great Falls community:
banking/finance, healthcare, agriculture,
retail business, government and many other
industries, large and small. Leadership
graduates, in turn, become active community
role models. They motivate local workforces,
become engaged in civic organizations, serve
as a sounding board for area businesses and
provide countless hours of volunteer time.

The Business Advocacy
Committee (BAC)
identifies public policy
issues at the local, state
and federal levels. The
BAC establishes the public
policy position of the
Chamber with approval
by the Board of Directors.
The committee’s approach
includes supporting policies encouraging
economic development, job growth, opposing
burdensome legislative and regulatory
proposals, and aids in making Great Falls
more business friendly. In addition, the BAC
encourages cooperation and partnerships
among government, education, business and
civic groups.

Aflac has enjoyed a wonderful association with the Great Falls
Area Chamber of Commerce and has joined forces with the
Chamber to provide voluntary insurance to its members. There are
several things that Aflac can do for local business’ in additional to
providing voluntary insurance.
1. GET PAID IN ONE DAY
Aflac introduced Aflac introduced its latest innovation called One
Day Pay. One of the concerns that insurance companies may have
is the delay in processing claims for policyholders. If an eligible
claim is submitted with all supporting documentation via Aflac
SmartClaim, the company’s online claims-submission system,
Monday-Friday by 3 p.m. ET, Aflac processes, approves and
disburses payment for the claim in one business day.
2. RATE STABILITY
Another item that concerns policyholders is the fact that premiums
continue to increase. In fact, over the past 10 years, insurance
premiums have increased 400%. This is difficult for business
owners to provide insurance. Aflac has not had a rate increase on
any of its products from their inception. This makes it easier on
businesses and for policyholders.
3. PORTABILITY
With all of Aflac products you are able to take them from job to
job. They don’t end when you transfer to a new job or retire. The
same rates are locked in and you can transfer them to a direct pay if
desired.
4. PRE-TAX SAVINGS
Aflac has provided over 550,000 payroll accounts with a cafeteria
plan. There is no charge for this plan for Aflac groups.
5. WORKER’S COMPENSATION RATES LOWERED
A Liebermann research study found that if an employee has Aflac,
Worker’s Comp Rates for companies with less than 50 employees
were reduced 34%. For companies with more than 50 employees
they saw a 54% decrease in their worker’s comp premiums.
