Grants are highly competitive. The strict academic criteria used is as demanding as the criteria
established by U.S. universities, including sufficient proficiency of English, so that candidates admitted
to a post graduate program receive the necessary financial aid. All applicants must have a university
degree.
Applications are restricted to Ecuadorian citizens, residing in Ecuador during the complete process.
Candidates holding dual Ecuadorian-U.S.citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status are not eligible.
Grants are not open to Ecuadorians who are currently studying, researching or teaching in the United
States. As the Fulbright Program provides an educational exchange experience to citizens who have
not had such opportunity, preference will be given to those candidates who have not had extensive
recent experience in the United States.
