JULIAN’S PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS
….to be outstanding in every
aspect, pushing the boundaries of
excellence…..
Issue no 38 18th July 2014
We are saying goodbye to Tom who will be
relocating to Cheltenham, Alice who will be
travelling to Hong Kong to work in an
international school, Darren who will be leaving
to travel and Anna and Verity who will be
leaving to take up teaching posts in other
Lambeth schools. We are grateful to all of them
for all their hard work for our school and wish
them all the best for the future!
Our Year 6 children performed like stars to an
audience of parents/carers, ex pupils, staff and
friends of the school.
Year 6 performance of
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The performances were truly wonderful with
many, many highlights.
We were treated to a fantastic production of

JULIAN’S PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS
It was especially wonderful to see the children
perform with such energy and enthusiasm, in
spite of the heat!. The final performance was a
real testament to all their hard work and
commitment.
My personal thanks to ~
Alice and Nikki who have worked tirelessly on
the production over the past few weeks to make
it such a success!
Charlene who helped to create the set and was
behind the scenes on the day and during
rehearsals to help the production come
together…
Ed for writing the script and helping with the
direction of the play, for arranging the music,
teaching the songs and playing the key board
together with his very own live band on the
night…
Tom for building the set and fixing everything
that broke and for being in charge of the sound on
the performance day…..
Andy for managing the box office…..
Polly for cooking all the children pasta and
providing refreshments in between the
performances……

JULIAN’S PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS
A message from the PTFA….
site at the end of the day and/or from after school
clubs.
St Luke’s before and after school provision will
now move for a limited time period to the West
Norwood school site for West Norwood children.
Before school care will run from 7.30am in the
morning until the start of the school day and after
school until 6pm.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the
parents, carers, staff and children who gave up
their time to help with the organisation of the
Summer Fair and worked so hard on the day.
We would also like to thank all those who so
generously donated food, cakes, gifts and raffle
prizes for the Fair. It was a great success and
raised an incredible £4,452.14 for the school.
The list of raffle winners is in the office, so please
check to see if you are one of the lucky winners!
We are pleased to announce that the PTFA will be
funding a theatre trip for the whole school in the
Autumn term with the funds raised.
Thank you,
Julian's PTFA
West Norwood and Streatham before
and after school care news!
Barbara has confirmed that before and after
school care will continue in September for both
the West Norwood and Streatham sites.
She has informed us that she will be running a
breakfast club from 7.30am each morning at St
Peter’s church on Leigham Court road for
Streatham children. Barbara and her team will
walk the children from St Peter’s to the Dunraven
site in the morning and collect from the Dunraven
4
Costs will be £5 for breakfast club and £12/£14
per day for after school provision depending on
whether your child attends full or part time.
Please contact Barbara on 07910272319 or Ann
on 07950339212 if you are interested.
School Dinners
Please note that as of September 2014 school
dinners will cost £2 per day. This is in line with all
of our South Lambeth School Partners.
We shall be moving to a new provider ISS in
September and have employed a head chef
between the SLSP schools, so we look forward to
an improved meal service for all of our children.
Have a lovely…and hopefully slightly cooler
weekend!
