AS MUSIC COMPOSITION
THE BRIEFS
PREPARATION…
CONTROLLED CONDITIONS…
• The composition must be completed under 15 hours of controlled conditions. These must
take place in centre and must be supervised by a teacher (although the teacher does not
have to be present in the room at the time).
• All work completed must be your own and any support/guidance given by the teacher
must be declared on the accompanying form when the work is submitted. Any specific
help given which effects the work produced will likely result in a lower mark being awarded.
Only general advice and whole-group tutorials are permitted, provided they do not
advise specific corrections, and still allow the teacher to sign the declaration that the
composition is 100% your own work.
• Research and preparation time does not contribute to the 15 hours and may be completed in
or out of centre provided the teacher can still confirm any preparation brought in is still
100% your own work.
