THE PROJECT
The City of Chicago named Aeroterm as the developer of
approximately 820,000 square feet of Air Cargo Facilities at Chicago
O’Hare International Airport (ORD) located in Chicago, Illinois. The
cargo facilities will include adjacent aircraft ramp accommodating
new generation aircraft including Boeing 747-8 series aircraft.
Our warehouse and aviation oriented transfer point facilities are
designed with a finished building depth of either 225 feet or 180
feet. Design porvides accessible and contiguous office mezzanine
space to improve efficiencies and flexibility. Additionally, our office
design is adaptive, allowing office space to be adjacent to the users
warehouse operations. Truck courts accomodate industry standard
53’ trailers. These secured facilities are designed to segregate public
access from secured areas.

consistently ranks in the top 10 in North America and the top 25 in the world in terms of its annual air cargo volume,
in excess of one million tons. O’Hare air cargo is among the nation’s and the region’s most valuable imports and exports, representing billions of dollars in annual trade, from electronics and machinery to fine clothing and medicines.
These goods can reach over 200 cities non-stop throughout the United States and the world on over 30 passenger
airlines and over a dozen cargo carriers that serve O’Hare. As a major supply chain hub, freight forwarders, brokers,
and corporations enjoy the superior advantages of Chicago’s distribution infrastructure, central geography, large
economy, and expressway network.
The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is proud of Chicago’s prominent role in air cargo commerce, and CDA
is always exploring new opportunities and capabilities that can enhance this role, including new facilities and new

The Chicago O’Hare International Cargo Center project will be delivered in two phases. The timeframe of each
