Opening 1st October 2015!

he time has come. Trembling with excitement, it is with great pleasure that I announce that the days we spent waiting with bated breath for
the new Clubhouse’s Grand Opening are no more! Bidding adieu to our nostalgic old Club, and waving hello at our new premises, 1st October will definitely be a memorable day for most of us.
August has been a wonderful month, with our spectacular Hari Raya celebrations that filled the attendees with gaiety and a merry good time. Not
losing our spirit of competitiveness, the Club also hosted its Monthly Golf League 5 and Quarterly Bowling Medal 3; as well as our ever entertaining
Quiz night 4.
Take a trip down memory lane with us as we host our final AGM and closing party here at Portsdown; and don’t miss our Moving out Sales, with
a plethora of furniture and equipment lying in store; Oktoberfest, and Deepavali as we come together with festive spirits to celebrate at our new
facilities!
As we embark on the start of a new chapter for Temasek Club, may it be filled with promises of happiness, good tidings and friendly ambience; that
it will become a place SAF Officers may call a home away from home. I look forward to your patronage at the Club.

Temasek Club celebrates...
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri
by Pauline Lim
T
emasek Club celebrated yet another Hari Raya with its members on 15 August 2015 at the Temasek Room.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. It is a joyous occasion for Muslims, as it signifies a
personal triumph, a victory of self-restraint and abstinence, symbolising purification and renewal.
The Guest of Honour, Chief of Air Staff, BG Lim Tuang Liang with his family, graced the event. A warm reception greeted
the GOH and the beating of the traditional malay music ensemble signified the start of the event as the troupe led the GOH
into the room.
The stage was decked in gold organzas with brightly lighted chandeliers, candle trees with hanging keputat and pretty gold
runners over the table setting the right ambience for the occasion. The emcee, Marina Yusof took on the event with an opening number with a traditional malay dance performance. The afternoon was filled with exciting entertainment with Dikir
Barat performance, Seloka Hari Raya dance and singing performance. The highlight for the day was the National Guzheng
player whose performance mesmerized the crowd with his traditional Chinese instrument with malay music.
The traditional Malay food was indeed sumptuous with many filling up their plates for repeated rounds of Beef Rendang,
Ayam Masak Merah, Ketupat/ Nasi Empit, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Macam Kueh Mueh.

It was indeed a joyous occasion with more singing and games. The programme was compact with lots of engagement. With these fine ingredients; superb entertainment, sumptuous food, great ambience, polish emcee led to a
great audience participations/ interactions by all those whom attended.
The spirit of participation was at its high as guests hit the floor with their joget for the closing number and as
summed up by the guests, it was a great afternoon, an afternoon well enjoyed and many could not wait for the next
Hari Raya Celebration at the new TC@Bukit Timah.

League 5
– 20 Aug 2015
By Jiahui
Our fifth Monthly Golf League for 2015/16 season was held at Poresia Golf & Country Club. It was our first time playing at Poresia.
Due to the cool weather, all 19 golfers enjoyed the golf game.
Dinner and golf presentation was held at the very popular
Garden Restaurant and golfers enjoyed the sumptuous
dinner. Some of the dishes served were Cod Fish, Salted
Egg Prawns and Steamed Kampong Chicken and we
had the honour of inviting our Sports Sub-Committee
member, CPT (RET) Ngoh Tee Lim to present the
winner with prizes.
We thank all golfers for their continuous support.
Till we meet again, keep a look out for this space!
