Kate's Paperie - Manhattan, New York
Kate's Paperie wanted a shop devoted to the sale of paper in every imaginable form, decorative and
utilitarian. The De Vido office developed a concept through a modular system adaptable to the
display and stock of each type of paper. A unifying theme was based on consistent overhead
lighting delivered by use of pretzel-shaped fluorescent tube. The exposed tubes are shared by
hanging sheets of a special paper that act as diffusers while featuring the paper theme. Outside, a
distinctive drum-like lighting fixture illuminates the entrance and bears the company logo. The rest of
the facade is backlit behind a Japanese rice-paper glass.
