Wood County Committee on Aging
305 N. Main Street, Bowling Green • 419-353-5661
www.wccoa.net
The Wood County Senior Center in Bowling Green.
It all started back in September of 1973 when
a group of concerned citizens held a meeting and
defined the need for a Senior Center in Wood
County. That meeting helped to develop an organization centered on helping older adults in
Wood County remain independent while improving the quality of their lives. Today, that organization is known as the Wood County Committee
on Aging (WCCOA).
In 1975,WCCOA was founded and the first
Senior Center opened on the Wood County Fairgrounds. In 1977, the Rossford Senior Center
opened.
By 1981, WCCOA moved to its current location–the former Bowling Green Post Office at 305
North Main Street.
Perrysburg soon followed, opening a Senior
Center in 1985, followed by North Baltimore in
1989, Northeast (Walbridge) in 2001, and Pemberville and Wayne, both opening in 2008.
Today, the Wood County Committee on Aging
operates seven senior centers throughout Wood
County Monday through Friday.
In 2006, WCCOA broke ground on a new Production Kitchen, located on E. Gypsy Lane Road
in Bowling Green, to meet the demands of a
growing nutrition program.
The statistics show that the need for our services continues to grow. In 2013, WCCOA conducted more than 37,344 units of program service,
had a record high year for medical transportation
(completing 957 non-emergency medical escorts),
and served more than 187,000 meals–including
over 96,000 home delivered meals.
WCCOA is committed to providing seniors
throughout Wood County with the resources they
need to maintain their independence and enjoy
this season of life. For more information, contact
us at 419-353-5661, 800-367-4935, or at

Perrysburg Schools Foundation
The Perrysburg Schools Foundation is a leader
in the promotion, support and recognition of academic achievement and innovative programs.
The foundation funds HIPP program, honors society banquet, graduation cords for honors graduates,
as well as teacher recognition and student scholarships. The PSF raises funds that are used for classroom and teacher grants in each of the six school
buildings and across all grade levels. The goal is to
have an impact on the education of each Perrysburg
student before he or she graduates. The PSF also provides scholarships to deserving students as they graduate from Perrysburg High School.
For more than 30 years the Perrysburg Schools
Foundation has earned the reputation of being “academic boosters” for Perrysburg Schools. The foundation has been successful at matching donor’s
wishes with recipients. However, PSF has begun to
expand that role to finding donors who can help to
meet the ever-changing needs of the school district
wherever their interests may lie–academics, athletics, arts, technology, music and revenue generation.
In that way the foundation can align donor’s wishes
to enhance the outstanding educational experience at
Perrysburg Schools.
For more information on how you can help the
Foundation, please contact Jeff Abke, Director of Development, Perrysburg Schools, 419-874-9131, Ext.
2274 or visit www.perrysburgschoolsfoundation.org.

free or for a fee based on clients’ ability to
pay. They include:
• Family and individual therapy

children in the schools, in the home, or at an
agency
• Substance abuse and mental health prevention programs in each Wood County
school district

adults struggling with addiction

ployment programs for adults and teens with

families living with mental illness

county commissioners and state agencies
form the Board. They plan, monitor and evaluate services offered by The Children’s Resource Center (419-352-7588), Behavioral
Connections of Wood County (419-3525387), Family Service of Northwest Ohio
(419-352-4624), Career Link (419-352-0600),

McGivern Jewelers
112 West Second Street • 419-874-4473
www.mcgivern.com
McGivern Jewelers purchases gold, silver and platinum in all
forms such as coins, bars and jewelry, regardless of their
condition.
During the past 31 years, McGivern Jewelers has
expanded from a gold and silver wholesale business to a
full-service jewelry store and one of the world’s largest
Internet diamond sellers (however, it still provides area
residents the opportunity to sell unwanted, used gold,
silver and platinum items).
Founded in 1980 by Michael and Joseph McGivern,
Perrysburg has been home to McGivern Jewelers since
its inception. The business began in a small office and in
1985, expanded to a store-front location in Perry’s Landing. In 1997, the store once again expanded to the second
floor of the same location. In 2002, needing additional
space, the McGiverns purchased the building at 112
West Second Street, where the business is currently located.
Even though the company has gone global, McGivern Jewelers is very proud of the great services it
continues to offer the local community.
McGivern Jewelers purchases gold, silver and platinum in all forms such as coins, bars and jewelry, regardless of their condition. For more than 30 years, the
McGiverns have offered that service and according to
Michael McGivern, now is a great time to sell. “Precious metal prices currently are at all-time highs,” he
said.
The company also will buy old U.S. coins that have
more value than just silver content, as well as better
dates, rare coins, coins that have not been circulated and
proof coins.
Furthermore, McGivern jewelry retailers specialize
in loose GIA certified diamonds and engagement rings.
In addition, the business carries a complete line of diamond and gemstone jewelry in 14K gold, 18K platinum
and palladium.
In 1998, McGivern Jewelers was one of the first companies to sell diamonds and jewelry on the Internet.
“We ship diamonds and rings on a regular basis to
every state and to every continent in the world except
Antarctica,” Mr. McGivern stated. “We have sold to
celebrities as well as famous politicians.”
The full-service jewelry store has one of the largest
selections of GIA certified diamonds, a large selection
of rings and all other jewelry, and provides complete
jewelry repair service and custom jewelry. “Our business is unique in that we have such a large selection of
lose diamonds and rings and we offer great personal
service,” Mr. McGivern said. “All our work is done onsite by our full-time goldsmith who has more than 20
years of experience. And our jewelry repair turnaround
time is very quick.”
A supporter of the community, the store donates to
multiple local charities. McGivern Jewelers is a member of the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce, the
Toledo Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating, Jewelers of America, Ohio Jewelers Association and the
Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America.

State Farm–Barry VanHoozen
130 West South Boundary• 419-872-9444
www.barryvanhoozen.com
More than a familiar identifying slogan, “24
hour Good Neighbor service” is a way of life for
the team of professionals working at the Barry
VanHoozen State Farm Agency–locally
owned and operated.
The office, located in Country Charm
Shoppes, recently celebrated its 25th year of
business.
“People want to know they are getting the
proper coverage and risk management advice,”
said Mr. VanHoozen, and this is what he and his
team members offer to each client every day.
Team members and Mr. VanHoozen discuss
and review their clients’ current policies and
risk management plans, as well as advise clients
on how to best protect their assets and families.
“We consider all our business personal,” said
Mr. VanHoozen, who values the opportunity to
reduce the risks of everyday life for his clients.
“We get to know our clients, just like our neighbors.”
It is the attention to detail that sets the Barry
VanHoozen Agency apart from its competitors.
Mr. VanHoozen has always supported the
Perrysburg community beyond his business.
“I want to give back to the community that
supports me and my business,” he said, adding
that he utilizes the services of local businesses
and has participated in community celebrations,
school activities as well as youth sports.
He is a Perrysburg City Councilman, a member of the Perrysburg Chamber of Commerce,
Perrysburg Rotary and also served 12 years on
the Perrysburg Board of Education.
Mr. VanHoozen is married to Hallie, and
they have two grown children, Nathan and Miranda.
“If you are considering using our office to
quote your insurance needs, I can’t promise that
we are always going to have the best price–
though we will certainly do our best,” said the
owner/agent. “But, when you get a quote
through our office, I can promise you three
things:
1. We will do everything we can to give you
our best, most competitive price.
2. You get cheerful, proactive, caring service, customized to your unique needs.
3. If we think you are better off with your
current coverage, we will tell you right away
with no hard feelings or pressure to buy.”
The VanHoozen Agency licensed team members–Nikki, Janet, Will, Jesse, Christina and
Hallie–are truly dedicated to all clients and
meeting their needs.
“If you would like to give us a try, we would
love to hear from you,” said Mr. VanHoozen and
staff.
Northwestern Water and Sewer District
12560 Middleton Pike (SR 582), Bowling Green • 877-354-9090
www.nwwsd.org
The district has spent more than $10.5 million in water and sewer repair and
replacement projects improving Rossford area services.
The Northwestern Water and Sewer District
provides reliable, high-quality water and sewer
service.
The district serves about 15,000 customers
throughout Wood County, covering 20 townships
and 13 municipalities, including Perrysburg Township and Rossford, said Jerry Greiner, NWSD president.
The goals of the district are:
•To establish a uniform water distribution and
wastewater collection system;
•To create uniform and equitable rates;
•To provide uniform services, and
•To institute consistent regulatory authority for
water and wastewater services.
“By combining systems to share operation and
maintenance costs, the district is able to provide
professional management and experienced service
personnel throughout our service area,” Mr.
Greiner said. “This enables smaller townships and
municipalities to comply with state and federal
mandates in an efficient, economically viable manner.”
Additional benefits include improved fire protection, lower insurance rates and environmentally
responsible sewage disposal.
“The district has spent more than $10.5 million
in water and sewer repair and replacement projects
improving Rossford area services,” Mr. Greiner explained.
“These address EPA violations, environmental
issues, leaks, failures and aging operational problems,” Mr. Greiner said.
A move to monthly billing with new water meters has provided a high level of service capabilities
and detection, he believes.
“For example, the district’s new Waterhawk
service notifies the customer of any unusual
amount of usage to help minimize any change in
water pattern use,” Mr. Greiner said.
Customers can sign up for the free Waterhawk
service on the website or by calling the district.
Also at seven locations in Wood County including NWSD’s main office, the district provides
stand-alone WaterSheds, which offer safe drinking
water using a reverse osmosis, nine-step drinking
water treatment system. The WaterSheds are open
24 hours a day, seven days a week and dispense
water at 25 cents per gallon.
The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, visit the
website www.nwwsd.org or call 1-877-354-9090.
Follow the district on Twitter and Facebook and
weekly blogs by Mr. Greiner.

The decision to give your child dance classes is not nearly as difficult as deciding where to have them study. Perrysburg Academy nurtures the individual potential of their students, creates performance opportunities and exposes children to a variety of dance forms. At Perrysburg Academy,
dancers are encouraged to achieve their personal best; an average child does very well, and the exceptional child flourishes with the excellent training
they receive.
Since 1980, Perrysburg Academy of the Performing Arts has been a creative, nurturing and positive environment in the arts community. Qualified and experienced dance teachers offer enjoyable and inspiring classes for students age 2-1/2 to adult. Perrysburg Academy is under the direction
of Vicki Hartkopf, who has been featured in Dance Teacher Magazine. In 1997, 1999, and 2007, she served as the American judge at the Australian
National Dance Finals. Other staff members include former Cleveland Cavalier Girl Emilia Hartkopf, ballet mistress Alisa Marier, Ashleigh Windsor,
voice teacher Allison Esposito, Special Needs Dance Instructor Jenny Akenberger, Head Gymnastics Coach, Hannah Hartkofp and Lyrical and Jazz
Teacher Mariah Robinette. Perrysburg Academy provides high quality dance classes to children in a non-competitive environment and wonderful performing opportunities.
Classes include ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, musical theater, voice, lyrical jazz, modern, baton, acrobatics, competitive gymnastics, Irish step dance,
Hawaiian, hip hop, and preschool combination classes. Perrysburg Academy also has a unique preschool boys dance class and a Special Needs Dance
class that brings the joy of dance to children with Autism, Down Syndrome, or physical limitations.
At Perrysburg Academy, we do not emphasize training future “professional dancers,” even though several of our students have gone on to make dance
their career. Instead, our goal is to train future “successful adults.” What a student learns from dance class (beyond the obvious physical benefits and
dance technique) can be applied to whatever our students decide to do in life. Very few children will go on to become professional dancers, but many
children, with excellent instruction, can go on to achieve wonderful results and extract a great deal of pleasure from dance classes. It promotes a healthy
body, cooperation, and as they master each milestone they learn leadership skills and gain a great deal of confidence, poise and self-esteem. Our students learn how to present themselves in front of an audience, whether that audience is in a theater or boardroom. Dancers learn time management and
organizational skills, as well as balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, carriage, creativity, musicality, kinesthetic awareness, self-expression, communication, respect for others, commitment, determination, joy, excitement, self-respect, concentration, focus, responsibility, teamwork, tolerance,
problem solving, critical thinking skills, self-discipline, goal-setting and prioritizing...all necessary for success in life.

Lord.
Located on Simmons Road near State Route 795,

Communion celebrated at every service. In the summer,
a Thursday informal worship service is offered (7 p.m.).
Throughout the year, special services are offered on
Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Lenten Midweek,

Music provides an integral part of the worship service. Traditional and contemporary music offer a rich
mixture to praise God in many ways.
Pastor Chuck Campbell, a Perrysburg native, has
served the church for more than seven years. He brings
more than 39 years of experience to the ministry, striving to provide a message that is biblical yet contemporary in its application each Sunday.
Education also is an important part of the congregation’s ministry. Sunday School is offered during the
school year for ages 3 through adult. Monday evening
Bible study combines Biblical study and Christian book
discussions to enrich the members.
A Vacation Bible School is offered for the community every summer, with more than 40 volunteers providing an experience that allows children an exciting and
meaningful week filled with music, Bible stories, drama,
recreational activities, puppets and crafts.
LCM is committed to meeting community needs by
providing space for nine weekly AA meetings, Family
Promise (an interfaith homeless ministry) four times
each year, the Head Start preschool program and other
community events.
Members regularly participate in Habitat for Humanity building projects, Perrysburg Commons worship
ministry and area food pantries. Support for ministries
outside the four walls of the church include Lutheran Social Services, Luther Home of Mercy, Lutheran Homes
Society, Toledo Area Ministries and Perrysburg Christians United.
The first Sunday of each month sees the youth taking
a “Noisy Change” offering that is then shared with a
ministry need in the community, as chosen by the youth.
LCM is strengthening its youth ministry through Sunday School, weeknight drop-in opportunities as well as
activities including statewide and national youth gatherings.
Lutheran Church of the Master invites area residents
to “join us as we journey through life, striving to become
what we believe. We are ‘on a mission with a message
from the Master,’” explained Pastor Chuck Campbell.

Davinci Medical Direct Primary Care
101 West Indiana Avenue • 419-874-4550
www.davincimedicaldpc.com
Dr. Nick Pfleghaar
Davinci Medical Direct Primary Care opened its
doors in April and is northwest Ohio’s first and only direct
primary care medical practice. Services include guaranteed
same day office visits, unlimited office visits, 30 to 60 minutes or longer with the doctor, free in-office procedures,
house calls, technology visits and special pricing on medications, lab work and radiology.
“Unlike traditional family practices, we do not bill any
insurance,” said Dr. Nick Pfleghaar, owner of the medical
practice. “Instead, our patients pay a monthly membership
based on their age for 24/7 personalized medical care.
Adults start at $50/month and children are only $10/month
with a parent as a member.”
Dr. Pfleghaar, a Rossford native, explained that Davinci
Medical is an innovative practice model called direct primary care, which is a branch off the increasingly popular
concept of concierge medicine. Concierge medicine is
known for their more personalized care including house
calls, but it often comes with a hefty cost. What separates
direct primary care is that it is more affordable to the general public while actually providing more services.
Davinci Medical benefits include:
•Unlimited, same-day office appointments during normal business hours with no copays.
•24/7 access to the doctor via his personal cell phone
number.
•House calls at no additional cost.
•Technology visits including text messaging, Facetime,
Skype, email at no additional cost.
•Yearly wellness visits focusing on prevention, weight
loss and others.
•Free in-office procedures such as skin procedures, joint
injections, osteopathic manipulation, suturing, EKG and
pyrometer.
•Wholesale medication prices that can save patients 40
to 90 percent on the cost of medication.
•Wholesale labs that cost a fraction of the typical cost
billed through insurance.
•Wholesale imaging that costs a fraction of what a patient would be charged elsewhere.
Davinci Medical also can help small businesses provide
a higher level of care to their employees while saving the
company and employee a significant amount of money.
Dr. Pfleghaar earned his degree of Doctor of Osteo-
pathic Medicine from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency
in family practice at Firelands Regional Medical Center in
Sandusky, where he was elected chief resident. The doctor
is certified with the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
Dr. Pfleghaar brings his personal touch to the profession of medicine by providing patients with the opportunity
to experience a fresh approach to health care. He educates
his patients about their health in a manner to which they
can relate and understand. The doctor medically cares for
each individual patient as if they were family. He practices
evidence-based medicine with a focus on prevention.
Initial appointments with Dr. Pfleghaar average 60 minutes while other routine visits average 30 to 40 minutes. In
order to maintain the personalized care, the doctor initially
will accept about 600 patients in his new practice–adding
new doctors as the practice grows.
“This is a more personal and direct approach to medicine that takes medicine back to the way it used to be,” said
the doctor. “Interestingly enough, it is sure to become the
future of medicine.”

Witzler-Shank Funeral Home has been
serving Perrysburg and the surrounding communities for more than 156 years. The rich history of the business began in 1859, when Peter
Witzler moved his new bride, Margaret, to Perrysburg. There, he formed a wood-working
shop on the hydraulic canal, at the foot of Mulberry Street, where he bought power from the
town to run his lathe and other machinery. An
advertisement was discovered in the Perrysburg Journal for furniture and chairs, as well
as coffins–“a narrow house for the dead”– and
a hearse at reasonable charges. This began the
Witzler family’s commitment to funeral service.
Twenty-three years later, in 1892, Peter and
Margaret’s son Charles founded a furniture
and undertaking business at 116 Louisiana Avenue. When Charles died shortly after opening
the business, his brother Alfred (A.J.) took it
over and continued at that location for nearly
40 years. In 1930, A.J. purchased the Hoover
house at 128 East Front Street, which was built
in 1875, and converted it into a funeral home
for the community. Norm and Marcena Witzler
and their son, Earl, began to operate the
funeral home as a separate and independent
business. A.J. died in 1934, having never conducted a funeral at the new location. In 1947,
the Witzlers and their six children moved
down to 240 East Front Street. Norm continued to run the business until his death on April
16, 1964.
With the financial help of Mrs. Witzler and
Earl, Clara and Bob Shank bought the business
on August 1, 1964. In 1967, a branch funeral
home was built in Walbridge to serve that
community. The Shank family members lived
upstairs until 1973, when they built a funeral
home at 222 East South Boundary, which remains its location today.
This year Bob Shank Jr. rejoined the fam-
ily business after being there from 1990-1999
and then serving 15 years with the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. His wife Tonya
also has joined the staff at Witzler-Shank and
their children, Morgan and Robert, can be seen
mowing the grass and working funerals occasionally. This truly is a family owned and operated Perrysburg business.
The current facility is spacious and handicap accessible, and features a lovely chapel
and visitation/viewing rooms. It also accommodates memorial gatherings and receptions.
Whatever the type of service desired–cremation or burial, traditional or contemporary,
for a veteran or truly personalized to reflect the
life of the deceased–the experienced and compassionate staff at Witzler-Shank Funeral
Home is committed to serving clients/families
in a professional and dignified manner.

Moe’s Place has been described as “the
place in Rossford where friends and families
meet.”
“Everyone feels comfortable here, and we
get all kinds of people from all walks of life,”
said owner Joe Haddad, known in the community by his nickname, “Harpo.”
Mr. Haddad is a lifelong Rossford resident,
having grown up on the “tree streets” of the
city. He is proud to own and operate a neighborhood tavern at a time when few similar establishments exist.
Moe’s Place serves the world-famous Flaming Moe Burger–a half-pound hamburger with
whatever you want on it. The Flaming Moe
Burger was created as a joke in response to an
episode of the TV show “The Simpsons,” in
which the neighborhood bar featured a drink
called the Flaming Moe.
Another popular special unique to Moe’s
Place are the all-white chicken breast pieces,
called “Moe Balls.” They come in plain, mild,
flaming, regular barbecue, honey barbecue,
spicy barbecue and buffalo, and can be topped
with a choice of items such as cheese, mushrooms, bacon, cole slaw or onions.
“It is a tasty treat to have them with fries on
top and melted cheese crowning the fries,” Mr.
Haddad added.
The regular menu also includes delicious
homemade soups, tasty sandwiches, salads,
pizza and a great selection of appetizers such as
chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, poppers and
sauerkraut balls.
Make sure to visit Moe’s for “Taco Tuesdays” featuring tacos and $1.25 margaritas. Mr.
Haddad said this popular evening always
draws a good crowd.
Fridays feature walleye, perch and shrimp
specials, and every Friday and Saturday, prime
rib is served.
During the lunch hour, Moe’s Place serves
a daily lunch special that is not on the menu.
Also, a hearty breakfast is offered Monday
through Friday from 5:30 to 10:30 a.m. and
Saturday from 6:30 to 11 a.m.
In addition to the great food served at the
tavern, Moe’s Place also has an area to relax
and have a drink. The back room houses a pool
table, video games and jukebox.
“We offer good quality food at a reasonable
price and a safe, friendly atmosphere. People
come back because they feel comfortable
here,” Mr. Haddad said.

Zysik. Back row, from left, Adam Homer, Katie Bruning, Michelle Crites, Rachel
Saylor, Connie Lachmiller, Jennifer McLaughlin,
Renee Foels and Jim, Morrissey.
This year, 2015, marks the 16th year of business in Perrysburg for Doctors Michael and Julie
Zysik. They purchased the young, newly opened
practice, Pinnacle Eye Group, in 1999 and
have been growing it ever since. In 2005, they
moved into their new and current location at 850
Commerce Drive.
The doctors met while attending graduate
school at the New England College of Optometry from 1990 to 1994 in Boston. Prior, Dr.
Michael Zysik received his B.A. in Biology
from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York,
in 1988, and Dr. Julie (Yi) Zysik received her
B.S. in Biology from McMaster University in
Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in 1999.
The office features four state-of-the-art exam
rooms that allows the doctors to diagnose, monitor and treat all types of eye diseases and conditions such as eye injuries and infections,
macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma and
diabetic retinopathy.
After hours emergency care also is available.
Pinnace Eye Group offers specialty contact lens
fittings for people with nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and bifocal contact
lenses.
Other services include free consultations for
LASIK eye surgery. By performing a simple and
complimentary screening process, the doctors
can determine an individual’s candidacy for
LASIK eye surgery and then co-manage the surgical case with local area LASIK surgeons.
Unique to their office is the Zeiss iProfiler.
This instrument, the only one of its kind in Perrysburg and northwest Ohio, allows the doctors
to prescribe eyeglass lenses that provide sharp,
clear and crisp vision like no other eyeglass lens
on the market today. The technology, known as
iScription by Carl Zeiss, achieves its superior
optical quality by correcting what are known as
high order aberrations. Until recently, eyeglass
lenses have only corrected low order aberrations, or distortions, otherwise known as nearsightedness
(myopia),
farsightedness
The optical dispensary is large and brightly lit with all the latest
fashions from Oakley, Ray Ban and Maui Jim sunglasses, to Dior, Gucci,

(hyperopia) and astigmatism. However, other
problems, such as glare, halos or star bursting at
night time and lack of contrast or sharpness to
the vision are largely due to high order aberrations. These aberrations that are unique to an individual’s eyes can only be detected by analysis
through the iProfiler. This technology is then
linked to the manufacturing process of a highly
customized eyeglass lens that is suitable only to
that one patient’s unique set of aberration readings. The end result is far superior visual quality
with the elimination of annoying glare and halos
at night time and crisp, sharp vision throughout
the day.
Other hi-tech instruments include OCT, or
Ocular Coherence Tomography. This diagnostic
equipment is similar to ultrasound, but uses light
instead of sound waves to produce a very high
resolution image of the back of the eye, or
retina. This technology allows the doctors to better diagnose, manage and treat diseases such as
macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic
eye disease.
Both doctors attribute their success to the
Perrysburg community. And they give back by
offering their professional time to charitable organizations such as Prevent Blindness and the
national Infantsee program as well as other local
charitable causes. This year also will mark the
seventh year they have awarded the Zysik
Health Careers Scholarship to a graduating PHS
senior that is planning on majoring in the health
sciences in college.
The office features an open and modern optical dispensary where patients will find the latest features, technology and trendy styles in
eyeglass frames. Every employee that assists in
the selection and sale of every pair of glasses are
licensed opticians, which ensures that everyone
is getting only the best advice and fit for a new
pair of glasses. Each pair of glasses comes with
a two year warranty at no additional cost.

and encouraged to do mission and service ‘hands on.’
The church has active partnerships and involvement
in mission ministries both locally and around the
world, including:
•Perrysburg Christians United; Grace is pleased to
join with eight other churches in this service to people
of our community, and to be the host site for this food
pantry’s warehouse and distribution center.
•Providing volunteers and support to Cherry Street
Mission Ministries and Toledo Gospel Mission in
Toledo.
•The founders of Missions International of America call Grace Church home; their ministries in Haiti
include the Brad Reddick School where more than 300
children are taught and fed each school day; mission
teams travel there three times a year providing med-
ical clinics and work in water projects and agriculture.
•Grace also actively supports Deborah House, a
ministry to abandoned, orphaned and abused young
women in Romania.
•Teams of youth and adults go out on mission trips
to various locations several times a year.
The Family Life Center is a new multi-purpose facility. It has a full-size gym offering space for a variety of indoor sports. It also has a stage with full
sound, lighting and large screens for projection so that
worship, concerts and conferences can take place
there as well. Whether using it as a gym for basketball or volleyball, as a concert hall for musical presentations, or as a site for speakers or conferences, the
Family Life Center serves as a place for the church
family and groups from the community to come for
recreation, enrichment and inspiration. Each year in
May, Grace is a host site for the simulcast of Leadercast, a daylong conference featuring dynamic speakers from the world of business, education, and
religious leaders.
Still, the way most people share in the life and vitality of Grace Church is through the worship services
each Sunday morning. Grace offers both traditionalstyle worship and a contemporary worship setting. So
whether you prefer hymns and a choir, or a band playing current songs from Christian radio, there is a worship experience for you. Visit the website,
www.gracechurchperrsyburg.com for current worship
times and for information about other activities, or call

BCA Insurance Group includes, from left, Kyle Ganss, Kevin
Carmony, Danette Perna, Kathy Williams and Keith Williams.
“Service-Security-Strength-Independence” is the mission statement of BCA Insurance Group. The company
motto by King George VI is “The highest distinction is
service to others.”

Carmony, BCA Insurance offers home, auto, liability,

Ms. Williams began in the insurance business in 1991
opening a one-person agency with one insurance carrier.
In 2001, she partnered with Mr. Carmony, a founding
partner at Butler Capital Advisors. This merger happened
as a result of both parties’ desire to expand their property
and casualty operations and independent insurance offerings.
In 2006, the company moved to its current location in
Perrysburg Township, and in 2008 changed its name to
BCA Insurance Group, adding multiple carriers to the
line-up that is offered today.
“Being fiercely independent remains part of the mission statement of BCA Insurance Group all in an effort to
bring the best insurance options to our customers at all
times,” said Ms. Williams. “We can tailor-make a policy
and coverage specific to our customer’s needs.
The agency has expanded from one person with one
carrier to seven people and more than 20 carriers being
offered for property and casualty insurance and more
than 50 carriers for life insurance.
“We have a very cohesive team of insurance professionals with more than 80 years of combined insurance
experience,” added Ms. Williams. “We are always working to learn the newest and the best insurance information
for our customers.”
This year, two new associates joined the BCA Group–
Kyle Ganss, who is beginning his insurance career, and
Kurt Zimmerman, a 30-year veteran who brings large
commercial insurance experience to the company.
The insurance group is a member of the President’s
Club for branch personal premium; received the
Founder’s Award for home and auto insurance, and the
Regional Founder’s Award for an agency. The group also
received the District Life Insurance Production Award
and the Branch Home Award.
BCA is a member of the Perrysburg Area Chamber of
Commerce and Business Network International. Mr. Carmony is a board member for Goodwill Industries and
board president for the Zepf Center. Mr. Ganss is a Perrysburg High School soccer coach and has a long-time
involvement with Perrysburg club soccer.
“Our vision is to provide quality coverage and service
to all our clients at all times with the utmost of integrity,”
said the partners. “We strive to make a difference in the
lives of our customers and the various insurance carriers
with whom we work.”

MISSION STATEMENT
DPI is a community-based nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission is to
provide family events that showcase our community and contribute to the quality of
life that makes Perrysburg the “Best Suburban Downtown.”
DPI’s volunteer board members spearhead numerous community events that
draw thousands of visitors to the downtown area who eat, shop and take in the
historic beauty of our city. With Winterfest 2015, DPI was able to put Perrysburg on the map with national news coverage of the National Ice Carving
Association Championship on NBC. DPI’s success would not be possible
without the financial support of its members and sponsors, as well as the donation
of time that volunteers provide to help put on events. DPI is proud to partner
with many companies, community organizations, nonprofits, schools, churches,
and volunteers in order to create FREE family events that provide unique opportunities to showcase our community and contribute to the quality of life that
makes Perrysburg the "Best Suburban Downtown" four years in a row.

LOCALLY BUILT CABINETS,
COUNTERTOPS AND MORE SINCE 1983.
Snow’s Wood Shop specializes in custom cabinetry such
as kitchens, baths, bars, entertainment centers, bookcases,
hutches, buffets, desks and all other cabinets. The shop also
offers quartz, granite, solid surface, laminate and cultured marble countertops.
Owned and managed by Kurt Snow and his brother-in-law
Tom Steedman, the business offers two showrooms–Perrysburg and Oregon.
The wood shop was founded in 1983 by Vernon and Sharon
Snow. Cabinets were built in a 24 x 26 foot workshop in the
Snow’s backyard. In 1990, the couple moved to their current
production facility in Oregon and in 1992 and 2000, expanded
to the current size of 20,000 square feet.
Then in 2014, the Snows added a showroom on North
Dixie Highway in Perrysburg.
“We pride ourselves in making the customer happy–from
start to finish,” said Mr. Snow. “We begin with an in-home appointment or showroom visit and give the customer a free estimate and a computer drawing of the project. Once the cabinet
design is completed and approved, it takes an average of three
weeks for construction, finishing and installation. It is our goal
to provide a high quality custom product while servicing the
customer throughout the entire process.”
The family believes that a happy customer drives the business in the way of referrals from individual customers and
contractors.
“We believe nobody sells our product better than someone
who is happy with the work we have done for them from start
to finish.”
The shop’s crew, family members and long-time employees
take great pride in their craft. Many of the Snow cabinet makers have more than 20 years experience.
The cabinet crafters construct the cabinets in as large of
units as possible which results in virtually no seams exposed,
explained Mr. Snow. “Because our cabinets are constructed in
this way, it allows us to put our unique custom routing on the
cabinetry. Our cabinets are made locally, and we are very
proud of that.”
The family is very excited with the welcome they have received at the Perrysburg location and invite the community to
stop in at the showroom.
“For 32 years, we have been designing, building, finishing
and installing quality, affordable custom cabinetry while meeting our customers’ schedules,” said Mr. Snow. “As long as we
continue to function this way, we believe we will be doing this
for the next 32 years and beyond.”

The Ohio Chautauqua week-long living history program visited Rossford in 2013,
and will return in 2016 with a theme of “The Natural World.”
The Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) was founded in 2010 to promote
Rossford attractions and businesses to visitors
who come to the community to shop, eat, play,
conduct business and spend the night in our
hotels. A portion of the hotel/motel tax generates funding for the bureau.
“Rossford’s location at the crossroads of
the Ohio Turnpike and Interstate 75 is ideal for
cross country travelers and visitors from
Canada,” said Beth Genson, executive director for the CVB.
The CVB works with tour bus operators,
meeting planners and leisure travelers to plan
their stay.
“Our selection of hotel properties are in
close proximity to Toledo attractions which
make them convenient for the traveler,” she
explained.
The Rossford CVB can assist groups and
individuals to secure lodging, meeting space,
and entertainment options for their organization, sports association or business meeting.
In 2013, through the efforts of the CVB and
members of the community, Rossford was
chosen as a host city for Ohio Chautauqua.
This event is sponsored annually by the
Ohio Humanities in Columbus, and brings a
traveling history tent show to four or five Ohio
communities.
Ohio Chautauqua features five days of programming including daytime workshops for
children and adults and evening performances
by scholars dressed in period attire and presenting a first-person account of their life.
Rossford has been selected to host Ohio
Chautauqua again in summer 2016, which will
highlight the theme “The Natural World.”

Rossford Chiropractic Center
Dr. Ken Shelton
1114 Dixie Highway, Rossford • 419-666-1114
www.rossfordchiropractic.com
Dr. Ken Shelton started Rosssford Chiropractic Center in 1985,
dedicated to helping relieve spinal pain by improving function and
providing a better quality of life for his patients.
Chiropractic health care, without using drugs or surgery has been the focus of Dr. Ken Shelton’s practice,
the Rossford Chiropractic Center, for nearly 30 years.
“Research shows chiropractic is more economical
and effective than traditional medical care,” he explained.
Dr. Shelton started his practice in 1985 to help relieve
spinal pain and return a normal lifestyle without using
drugs to cover and hide pain symptoms.
His office is located at 1114 Dixie Highway, Rossford.
Chiropractic treatment finds the problem, eliminating the need to mask painful conditions with medication,
Dr. Shelton said.
“Joint problems left uncorrected become arthritic and
degenerate, often leading to worsening pain or surgeries, which could be prevented,” he cautioned.
“Just like rust on a car or a cavity in a tooth, left uncorrected, it will worsen,” he said. “Pain medications do
not correct these problems.”
His philosophy in providing health care has always
been to “help preserve lifestyles and mobility, one patient at a time by improving spinal health.”
Chiropractic treatment is very safe and comfortable,
unlike common perceptions of “having one’s neck
cracked,” he said.
He also dispelled the myth that once a patient starts
chiropractic treatment, the chiropractor will never let you
stop.
“Most patients choose to never stop once they realize
how important it is, and how good they feel afterward, it
is a healthcare choice,” he added.
“Just imagine a world where we never brushed our
teeth until age 50–we would have no teeth. No wonder
80 percent of the population is going to experience back
problems in their lifetimes.”
Along with punctuality in appointments, Dr. Shelton
bases his practice on improving function to relieve pain.
“Chiropractors are extremely caring people,” he said.
“We listen, we diagnose and try to correct problems inexpensively. I do not order lots of expensive tests to confirm my diagnosis. I start a treatment plan and if the
expected results are not met, then more expensive tests
are ordered.”
“I have helped so many people who could not be
helped elsewhere, many were even told not to seek chiropractic care, but did anyway and found great relief!

Help Raise Cataract Awareness with
Perrysburg Eye Center
More than 24 million Americans over age 40
suffer from reduced vision due to cataracts, the
clinical term to describe clouding that blocks the
passage of light through the eye. Early identification of cataract, and treatment through laser assisted cataract surgery, can help restore a person’s
vision to near perfect, with more than 95 percent
success rate. One of the area’s leaders in cataract
surgery and vision correction is Perrysburg Eye
Center, who is spreading the message of eye
health and the importance of regular vision
check-ups throughout Northwest Ohio.
“Our goal is to provide the highest level and
most complete eye care for our patients. Eyesight
isn’t something we take for granted. We have
state of the art diagnostic equipment and cutting
edge treatment options. We focus on overall eye
health.” says Stephen E. Clark, M.D., ophthalmologist and owner of the center.
Perrysburg Eye Center is recognized as a
leader in the region for providing unsurpassed
eye care for more than 40 years. With a medical
doctor, three optometrists and certified opticians
onsite, they are capable of providing complete
diagnostic testing and treatment for all ailments
of the eye including glaucoma, cataract and macular degeneration, along with providing a wide
selection of stylish frames and corrective lenses.
“Quality eye care is a priority at Perrysburg
Eye Center. Our doctors are all local to northwest
Ohio and are here every day. It’s about providing the best available care, and reassuring our pa-
tients that we’ll be here for them each step of the
way” says Dr. Reed T. Roth.
Perrysburg Eye Center has become one of the
leading providers of cataract surgery in the
Toledo area. “It’s not surprising that a number of
our new patients are struggling with this disease.
Vision impairment and loss are very difficult
problems to deal with. We want our patients and
the rest of Perrysburg to know that treatment options exist, and that Perrysburg Eye Center can
help” says Dr. Jay R. Meents.
Dr. Clark went on to say that “the physicians
and staff of Perrysburg Eye Center work everyday to help keep our patient’s vision as clear as
possible as long as possible.”
Beyond simply raising awareness for eye and
vision health, Drs. Clark, Roth and Meents all
help support Perrysburg with volunteer eye services. Dr. Clark volunteers for Eye Care America,
providing free eye care to qualified individuals.
Dr. Roth has been involved in the Perrysburg
Sunrise Lions Club and is on the board of the
Sunshine Children’s Home. He also volunteers
with Infant SEE, offering free eye exams for children ages 6 to 12 months with referral from a pediatrician. Dr. Meents regularly volunteers to
educate Perrysburg elementary school students
at Frank and Ft. Meigs schools through the Real
Eye Program.

As of July 1, Body and Sole Massage Therapy & Reflexology Center is under the new
ownership and management of Heidi Locknane.
Ms. Locknane is a resident of Lake Township and mother of four boys. She is a graduate
of Bowling Green State University and holds a
bachelor of science degree.
The new owner also completed training in
massage therapy at the Healing Arts Institute
and is certified in reflexology and advanced
Reiki.
The massage therapy and reflexology center
offers classic massages, advanced therapeutic
massages, relaxation, sports (pre-and postevent), hot stone, pregnancy and oncology massages.
Body and Sole opened in 2002 in downtown
Perrysburg by founder Yvonne Fey. She saw a
need for a place where people could focus on
their internal healing strength, where they could
learn how to take care of themselves and better
handle stress. Mrs. Fey believes that massage
and bodywork are powerful vehicles for healing, awareness and engaging the whole person
through a synthesis of structure, function, energy and emotion.
“Heidi will continue my beliefs as the new
owner and manager of Body and Sole. Her
commitment, energy, work ethic and personality helped me in the decision in offering her the
business,” said Mrs. Fey, who is moving to live
near her children and grandchildren.
Services includes reflexology, manual
lymph drainage, Reiki, chair massages and aromatherapy and paraffin treatments. Recently
added services include exfoliating body scrub
massage and foot soak and foot scrub for reflexology.
A new treatment coming soon to Body and
Sole is the Amethyst BioMat treatment. “It improves conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, insomnia, MS, ADD, depression, circulation
and more,” said the new owner.
The center carries a variety of products including Natural Options, aromatherapy creams,
roll-ons and essential oils and Shaman Woman
Botanicals. Body and Sole also offers gift cards
for every occasion.
“The atmosphere of Body and Sole begins to
relax the client the moment they arrive,” said
Ms. Locknane. “Our knowledgeable staff and
therapists customize each session to fit the
client’s needs. Our therapists are focused on
healing our client’s mind, body and spirit.”
The new owner added, “The healing begins
the moment you arrive.”

Great Lakes Urgent Care

Located at 25660 Dixie Highway, across from Levis Commons, Urgent Care is appropriate for patients with minor
acute injuries and illnesses such as sprains and strains,
possible fractures, minor lacerations and burns, severe flu
symptoms, sore throats, earaches,
skin irritations and fevers.
When you require medical attention for minor conditions or your primary care physician isn’t available, Great
Lakes Urgent Care offers a convenient alternative to a
costly and time-consuming emergency room visit.
Located at 25660 Dixie Highway, across from Levis
Commons, Urgent Care is appropriate for patients with
minor acute injuries and illnesses such as sprains and
strains, possible fractures, minor lacerations and burns, severe flu symptoms, sore throats, earaches, skin irritations
and fevers. Sports physicals and Workers Compensation
claims also are accepted.
Wellness care is available for your whole family, from
12 months of age and up. The healthcare professionals at
Great Lakes Urgent Care can prescribe medication and provide referrals to primary care physicians, specialists and
hospitals when needed.
In addition to accepting a variety of insurances, Urgent
Care has a unique Prompt Pay Pricing system under which
visits for most common illnesses, minor injuries and wellness care cost a flat rate of $69.
“Great Lakes Urgent Care was created to increase accessibility to quality healthcare,” said Kyle Prueter, executive director. “We notice more and more patients calling
about pricing, and often we hear that, even with our com-
petitive rate, patients are foregoing treatment due to expense. While we hate to undervalue our services, more has
to be done to help the uninsured and underinsured.”
Prompt Pay Pricing is not only for the uninsured. Great
Lakes understands the frustrations and feelings of people
who wait to be seen for their urgent problems, and then
have to pay a high price in both time and money.
“We believed a new model was needed to make medical care more accessible, affordable and friendly for busy
individuals who juggle jobs and families each day,” Mr.
Prueter said. “Urgent Care provides a welcome solution for
time-strapped households who seek convenience and affordability in healthcare delivery, and need a complement to
family physicians when doctor’s offices are not open or
available.”
Prompt Pay Pricing is available when payment is made
in full at the time of service with no insurance or Medicare
billing.
Great Lakes Urgent Care is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to
2 p.m. No appointments are necessary.
Urgent Care is owned and operated by Kyle and Ann
Prueter, and is part of the Great Lakes family of services,
which includes weight loss, drug testing and DNA testing.
Emergency rooms are not always the fastest choice for your medical care needs–and certainly not the most cost-effective. For conditions that aren’t lifethreatening, you will be able to save time–and money–by going to Great Lakes Urgent Care.
On average, emergency rooms are 4-5 times more expensive than urgent cares and you usually have to wait 4 or more hours to be seen.

Great Lakes Wellness Clinic introduces the HCG physician-based weight
control program.
“With over 136 million overweight and
obese Americans, about 66 percent of the
adult population, choosing the right weight
loss plan is critical,” states Ann Prueter, coowner of the company. “The HCG Diet
Program is offered through Great Lakes
Wellness Clinics. Its comprehensive, evidence-based approach will help most
clients lose from 20-30 pounds (and
inches) every four to six weeks without
strenuous exercise or hunger pains. It is
based on the Dr. Simeons protocol which
has been around since the 1950s. Great
Lakes will guide and teach clients new eating habits that ensure continued success for
a lifetime.”
During The HCG treatment program,
clients are taught everything they need to
know for better health, lifestyle, and reaching the goals defined in the initial Presentation/Consultation. This includes an
explanation of the diet, regular support during the program, and all that is needed to
complete the program.

Thrivent is a Fortune 500 not-for-profit financial services
company that has been in existence for more than 100 years
and serves approximately 2.4 million members.
Robert Brunner has been at the Perrysburg location since
2011.
“We are more than financial services,” he said. “We are a
not-for-profit, membership organization of Christians.”
Thrivent offers insurance including life, disability, longterm care and Medicare supplement; immediate and deferred
annuities, individual retirement accounts, (IRAs), mutual fund
investments and church and institution financing.
“Your relationship with money involves more than your
bank account,” said Mr. Brunner. “It affects your family, your
future and so much more. We will show you the difference between simply managing your money and being wise with it.
“When it comes to financial services providers, you have
plenty of choices. But while others see money as a goal, we
see it as a tool–for serving God, your family and your community. Our unique approach blends faith, finances and generosity. As Christians, we are called to be good stewards of the
gifts God has given. No matter how much money you have,
we offer products, tools and sound financial guidance to help
you feel comfortable and confident with your finances. It is
not just about making more, it is about doing more–for your
family, your church and your community.”

www.corporatehousingsystems.com
While everything else may be
changing at a record pace, one thing
that remains the same is the desire to
have comfortable accommodations
when away from home for business
or recreation.
Corporate Housing Systems has
been meeting and exceeding this need
for more than 30 years. The company,
which originated in Columbus, now
has six branch offices serving Ohio
and Indiana.
Corporate Housing Systems was
established by owner Joe Lawless in
response to his own experiences of
business travel and extended stays in
cramped hotel rooms. He recalls tiny
closets and limited drawer space.
This is not the case with these luxury
apartments.
In addition to the business traveler, satisfied customers include those
who are buying or building homes,
those displaced by insurance loss,
seasonal travelers who wish to spend
time with family and friends (but still
have their own place), and those who
just want something more than a typical hotel room. A big change in recent years is the number of people
who contact us for stays of just three
or four nights.
Rates are comparable to a midpriced hotel, and include furniture,
housewares, utilities, cable TV and
wireless internet. The apartment
homes are equipped with all major
appliances. There is even a full-size
washer and dryer in every unit.
Our preferred communities offer
resort-style amenities such as a pool,
fitness room, hot tub, sand volleyball,
putting greens and an on-site theatre.
They are close to shopping, dining
and entertainment.
Our guests often comment on the
ease in making a reservation and how
much they have enjoyed their time
with us. Whenever temporary housing is needed, “Why just stay….
when you can stretch out and live in a
fully furnished, luxury apartment?”
In 2014, Thrivent directed $103.1 million to people in need,
churches and other nonprofits and Thrivent members helped
raise $106.7 million more.
“That is $209.8 million in total outreach,” said the financial advisor. “Our members don’t just raise money, they raise
people up by building homes, serving food, painting walls and
more. And because we are a membership organization, members often get together just to have fun.”
At the end of 2014, Thrivent introduced Thrivent Action
Teams–an idea powered by a passion.
Mr. Brunner explained that a team of individuals can make
an immediate impact on a cause they care about.
“Thrivent members can receive a $250 Impact Card to be
used to make a change in their community,” he said. “The
funds can be used to purchase product supplies and create promotional materials to help your cause.”
The Thrivent advisor recently donated supplies for an art
project to benefit the American Cancer Society Perrysburg
Relay for Life.
Mr. Brunner and his wife Michelle, a high school art
teacher, have two daughters and live in Perrysburg. He is past
president of Downtown Perrysburg, Inc. and has served on the
board since 2011. He is the chairman for Downtown Perrysburg’s Rock the Docks and Perrysburg Winterfest and U.S. National Ice Carving Championships.

From our backyard to yours–Linda and Chris Lane, owners of Country Lane BBQ.
Chris and Linda Lane, owners of Country Lane
BBQ, started a business in their backyard that has
now spread to main streets and local events around
the area.
The Perrysburg Township couple began by making two flavors of barbecue sauce: sweet apple pepper and pineapple chipotle.
“Now, we have a small event barbecue cart that
lets us set up at farmers markets and street fairs and
sell great barbecued food,” Mrs. Lane said.
That includes pulled pork, ribs, chicken wings
and more, plus side dishes like macaroni and cheese
and cheesy potatoes.
“Our newest item is a pulled pork ‘sundae,’” she
added. “They have been a big hit at the Perrysburg
Farmers Market and other venues this year.”
Country Lane BBQ frequently prepares lunches
for up to 100 people at the Rossford Business Association’s monthly meetings. They also will be a
food vendor at Rossford Riverfest on August 22,
and at “A Bite for the Fight” fund-raiser at ProMedica Flower Hospital on October 10.
The couple was honored when the largest BBQ
Sauce of the Month Club in America selected their
pineapple chipotle to be the “sauce of the month” in
July 2012.
They believe the unique flavor of the sauces has
been their recipe for success.
Edward Jones–Justin Knierim
“Both have a lighter, cleaner taste that doesn’t
cover up the flavor of what you’re putting it on,”
Mrs. Lane explained. “Both sauces are sweet, but
not over-poweringly so. A lot of the sweetness
comes from the fruit that goes into it–not added
sugar.”
The Lanes recalled how they started the company “in the backyard” in June 2011.
“We were cooking for family and friends, and
were told over and over that we should do something with the sauce,” Mr. Lane noted.
They contacted the Center for Innovative Food
Technologies (CIFT) in Bowling Green, which
walked them through the process of starting a business. CIFT also has a facility where the Lanes can
do their cooking and produce their products.
“We both love cooking for people–and what better way to introduce our products?”
“Our business is a hobby that has slowly grown
over the four years with a lot of hard work and
sometimes long hours,” Mr. Lane said.
Their sauces can be purchased locally at Kazmaiers, the Andersons, Sautters and Churchill’s grocery stores.

Encore Bridal, owned and managed by
Lee Welling, offers the David Tutera Bridal
collection by Mon Cheri plus hundreds of
high-end sample wedding gowns.
The bridal shop was born out of a subterrain economy four years ago, said Ms.
Welling, who worked out of her home offering more than 600 gowns.
“We started offering women an alternative to retail pricing for quality wedding
gowns. I would travel to ‘high end’ bridal
boutiques and purchase their sample gowns.
These gowns have never been worn–they
are simply discontinued.”
The bridal owner explained that by buying off the rack, rather than custom ordering, she could offer brides a substantial
savings–up to 70 percent off retail prices.
The sample gowns normally priced between
$1,200 to $4,000 sell at Encore Bridal between $500 and $900, and Ms. Welling has
available more than 500 sample gowns.
This year, the business owner opened a
shop on South Main Street in downtown
Bowling Green.
“Now I am able to get our long-awaited
line of gowns by David Tutera,” she said.
“It is a very feminine line that I have had
my eye on for a couple of years. These are
the only gowns that can be ordered at my
shop and the only store between Detroit and
Cleveland that carries the David Tutera collection. Prices range from $1,100 to
$2,000.”
Encore Bridal also has a wonderful selection of tiaras, combs, veils, jewelry,
crinolines and other accessories the bride
may need for her wedding day.
“Shopping at Encore will ensure you of
finding only the finest, cleanest, gowns worthy of any bridal salon,” said Ms. Welling.
“I think you will be pleasantly surprised at
the assortment of gowns and accessories we
have at a cost savings compared to your typical bridal stores. This is not the used dress
store.”
The gowns at Encore Bridal are in stock
and ready for immediate purchase.
“Whether you are spending $200 or
$2,000, it is my belief that the planning of
your wedding and especially the shopping
of your gown, is a very special time, and
you should be treated accordingly,” she
said. “We do encourage appointments only
to assure that when you are here, you have
my undivided attention.”

Rossford optometrist Dr. Angela Jackson
finds it hard to believe it has been four years
since she and her staff of Quality Family Eyecare, Inc. moved into their new building on
Lime City Road.
In that time, the staff has increased from
five to seven full-time employees plus three
part-time employees.
Optometrist Dr. Tracey Needham joined
the office five years ago. She started at one day
each week and increased to two and a half
days in 2013.
She is seeing patients three and a half days
per week alongside Dr. Jackson.
“We are very excited about the growth,”
said Dr. Jackson, who is in her 14th year of
ownership. “Growing from two employees to
10 over these 14 years has been very fulfilling.”
“We have a great staff and continue to
bring in patient-centered, friendly and knowledgeable people to best care for our patients.”
She noted that growth has increased the de-
mand for more available office hours.
Quality Family Eyecare is now open two
evenings each week to better serve patients.
With expansion of the office, there also
have been some technology upgrades.
“We have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to help manage retinal conditions such
as glaucoma and macular degeneration,” Dr.
Jackson explained.
“Also added last fall was a screening instrument that can help in assessing risk factors
for macular degeneration.”
The eyewear gallery now features more
than 1,000 different frames that provide for
very personalized eyewear selections.
“We have something for everyone, in terms
of shape, color, size and price points,” Dr.
Jackson said. “We have traveled to New York

The doctors and staff welcome new patients and look forward to continuing to serve
the community.

“Prior to joining Signs Now, we had been in

our customers with every policy we make,” said the agent.
“When you purchase your insurance through our agency,
we want you to understand what you are buying and why.
It is not about putting you in a product you don’t need,
want or can’t afford.
“Customer service also is of the utmost importance in
our office. It is important to us that our customers feel valued. We know there are plenty of options when choosing
where they buy insurance.”
Ms. Spann Johnson explained that situations in everyone’s life changes, grows and evolves and so does insurance and financial needs. The coverage one had five or 10
years ago may not be appropriate today.
“We strive to sit down with policy holders every 12 to
18 months to make sure everything is relevant to their life
situation,” added the agent.
The new agency currently has four, full-time licensed
team members and a part-time receptionist.
“Many people will recognize Kim, our office manager,
as she worked for Mr. Shinaberry for 15 years,” said Ms.
Spann Johnson.
Julie Spann Johnson State Farm Agency is a member of
the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Rossford
Business Association and Waterville Chamber of Commerce.
The agency is a supporter of Downtown Perrysburg’s
First Friday events and Harrison Rally Day.
“We sponsor various local sports teams, and we make
a contribution to a local charity each month based on recommendations from our policy holders,” she added.
The agency strives to be of service for its customers,
exceeding their expectations, said the owner/agent.
“By understanding our customers’ needs, we can help
to ensure they are prepared and protected from the unexpected and in addition to helping them plan and build for
the future,” she said. “We are here to contribute to the overall welfare of our community through sharing of our time,
talents and resources.
“We want to be the community’s first choice for financial and insurance services. We aspire to provide first in
class customer service and to build enduring customer relationships. We are thrilled to be a part of this community.”

Perrysburg Chiropractic, Inc.
139 West Indiana Avenue, Suite 102
419-874-4463 • www.perrysburgchiropractic.com
This year, Dr. Wayne Koskinen, founder and owner of Perrysburg Chiropractic, Inc., is celebrating 25 years of “caring.”
He describes his practice not only as chiropractic services but
chiropractic health services.
“We have helped thousands of people change their lives and
live life to its fullest,” said the chiropractor. “This has been the
most satisfying part of my practice. We give complete care, and
each patient receives the care they need.”
Located in downtown Perrysburg, the practice offers a full
array of chiropractic services–treatment to improve mobility and
range of motion and alleviate lower back and neck pain,
headache, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow and rotator cuff pain. The
family practice also specializes in sports injury and enhancement, nutritional consulting and massage therapy, which, said
the doctor, is an addition to chiropractic treatment.
Dr. Koskinen is a certified chiropractic sports physician and
also trained in chiropractic radiology and nutritional consulting–
a very important part of health care, he added.
In addition, he was chosen to be an adjunct staff at the University of Toledo Medical Center to help fourth year medical students get a better understanding of chiropractic. He served at
UTMC for 10 years.
The philosophy of the practice is to provide the safest and
most effective chiropractic health care to the residents of the
greater Perrysburg area in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
The chiropractor and his staff care for patients like family,
offering attentive and comprehensive service. A careful ap-
pointment schedule helps ensure that patients have little or no
wait time, and staff members are always willing to help patients
understand their insurance coverage.
Originally, the doctor opened his practice in Perrys Landing
and in 2005 moved to its current location in the Arbor Building
on the corner of Indiana Avenue and Walnut Street. The practice
is the longest operating chiropractic practice in Perrysburg. In
2007, he opened a satellite office in Whitehouse, Fallen Timbers
Chiropractic, which is managed by Dr. Luke Amodeo.
Dr. Koskinen plans to expand the practice to provide sports
rehabilitation, conditioning and training.
His daughter suffered an ACL tear, and he believes that
proper training and conditioning can reduce the risk for injury.
“Due to my daughter’s injury, I want to offer these programs to
athletes of all ages,” he said.
When he opened his practice in Perrysburg 25 years ago, Dr.
Koskinen didn’t hesitate to get involved in the community. He is
a member and past president of the Perrysburg Rotary and Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce. He has served as president
of the Perrysburg Schools Foundation Board and volunteered
with the Perrysburg High School Marching Band, PHS theater
and coached soccer, little league, flag football and softball.
He and his family are active members of Grace United
Methodist Church, and the doctor plays bass in the contemporary
service praise band.
Dr. Koskinen continues to look forward to many more years
of providing the most current chiropractic services to the Perrysburg and surrounding communities.

The Nature Center is open daily from 8 a.m. until dusk. It offers year-round
nature experiences with the “Look Out On Nature Area.”
Visitors experience a variety of wildlife as
they walk along the trails at W.W. Knight
Nature Preserve. A few wing beats from the
Maumee River, the Preserve invites songbirds, eagles, and waterfowl to look for food
and nesting sites and is a welcome resting
spot during migration.
Colorful dragonflies sparkle over the
water, as swallows bank and swoop, and
young people fish nearby in the warmth of
summer. The prairie’s native wildflowers are
in their glory just as fall begins. Winter
brings ice skating, cross-country skiing, and
school groups looking at animal tracks in the
snow.
The Nature Center is open daily from 8
a.m. until dusk. It offers year-round nature
experiences with the Look Out On Nature
Area, or LOONA, where (from within the
building) visitors can view birds and other
wildlife at feeders, in native gardens, and at
water features.
Opportunities for hands-on nature activities are available to the public as well as
school groups in the Educational Classroom.
Visitors may enjoy some relaxing, quiet
time with a book in the Library. This space
doubles as a meeting area for small groups.
The Hankinson Great Room, available for
rentals, has a serving-kitchen, fireplace, and
acccomodates up to 125 people.
William Windus Knight was a local businessman, philanthropist, and nature enthusiast. His grandchildren donated this 42-acre
parcel to the Wood County Park District in
1993. The Country Garden Club of Perrysburg saw its potential with its mature woodlot
and location near the Maumee River.
Be sure to experience all that Wood
County Parks has to offer. With an additional

Welch Publishing Co. is owner of four weekly
newspapers. The Perrysburg Messenger-Journal,
Rossford Record Journal, Point and Shoreland
Journal and Holland-Springfield Journal are community newspapers which provide readers with
focused local news not provided by other media.
Historically, the Perrysburg Messenger-Journal
can trace its beginning to 1853 when the first edition of the Perrysburg Journal was produced.
Each newspaper depends on its readers to be
the main source of news, which allows the pub-
lication to truly become a reflection of the community.
In addition to its own papers, Welch Publishing also prints for newspapers which do not have
their own printing plant. Quality four-color printing is available for these customers on the web
press located at the Welch Publishing printing
plant. Other web printing projects are performed
on this same press line.
Many of the printing customers utilize the
mailing services which include the latest software
programs which provide discounted mailing
costs. Welch Publishing Co. can design, produce

allow for personalized messages on each mail

The Perrysburg Journal began publication on
March 10, 1853, disseminating news and information in Perrysburgh, a river town surrounded
by the Great Black Swamp. With a population
of about 1,800, Perrysburgh was the county seat.
The Perrysburg Messenger (1935) and the
Perrysburg Journal merged in 1965. Robert and
Dorothy Welch have owned the newspaper
since 1969.
Its staff has grown from a two-man operation with an apprentice (printer’s devil) to a staff
of more than 20 full-time and part-time employees.
The newspaper has evolved over the years
from a patchwork of national/state/local news
to a newspaper with an emphatically local
focus.
If it happened in Perrysburg...read about it in
the Messenger Journal–“Your Hometown
Newspaper.”
The Messenger Journal staff has long relied
upon members of the community to supply stories and news. We look to the residents to help
the newspaper reflect the every day events
which make the Perrysburg area a great place to
live, work and raise a family.
The Journal is represented by staff members
in the Perrysburg Rotary Club, Exchange Club,
Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce,
Downtown Perrysburg Inc. and the American
Cancer Society.
The paper is a proud sponsor of Harrison
Rally Day, the Perrysburg American Cancer Society Bark for Life and Making Stides for Breast
Cancer, Downtown Perrysburg Inc. events,
Wood County Humane Society Wine and
Cheese Benefit and Mutt Strutt, Humane Ohio
and Planned Pethood Paw Hoorah.
Also, the Messenger Journal has participated
in fund-raising events for the American Red
Cross, Perrysburg Christians United, Perrysburg
School District, Operation Breadbasket, Hannah’s Socks along with numerous local fundraisers.
In partnership with the Town Center at Levis
Commons, the Messenger has sponsored an ice
sculpture demonstration, Easter coloring contest, Santa’s Christmas House, Splash Bash and
Sand-Tastic.
The newspaper also is on-line. With the creation of www.perrysburg.com people from all
areas can access an on-line version of the newspaper, write a letter to the editor, submit an article and photos, or submit a classified
advertisement.
Our commercial printing customers enjoy
the benefit of discounted postage rates using
CASS. This certified mailing system saves both
time and money for your business. We also provide a wide variety of other commercial printing
services, including in-house graphic design and
website design and development. Our Perrysburg location now offers quick turn-around
color printing.
The Perrysburg Messenger Journal is the
oldest newspaper in Wood County, and the oldest business still operating in Perrysburg.
The newspaper office is located in the historic Perrysburg Post Office building at 117 East
Second Street. For more information, call 419874-4491 or visit the website www.perrys
burg.com.
The Rossford Record Journal can trace its
roots back to 1939. “Your Hometown Newspaper” is the slogan of the Rossford Record
Journal, and the main focus is the news that affects our community.
In 1969, Robert and Dorothy Welch acquired the Rossford Record Journal and the
Perrysburg Messenger Journal.
Mr. Welch served as editor of the Rossford
Record and came out with his first publication
on January 8, 1970.
The newspaper was located at 229 West
Sixth Street, Perrysburg, for many years, until
the owners moved it to the former historic Perrysburg Post Office, 117 East Second Street,
on January 1, 1993.
The printing press plant was moved to 215
Osborn Street, Rossford, in January 1980.
The newspaper was renamed the Rossford
Record Journal in 1978 to reflect its sister
Journal publications, the Perrysburg Messenger Journal and Point and Shoreland Journal.
Welch Publishing Co. also prints the Holland Springfield Journal and numerous other
area publications.
In 2005, Welch Publishing upgraded its
printing presses to a four-color, quad-stack
web press and a two-color Heidelberg sheetfed
press.
The new presses improve color capability
and registration, enhancing the overall appearance of the Record Journal and other publications.
The Record Journal is proud to support
community groups and activities such as the
Rossford Business Association, Rossford Public Library, Rossford High School Athletic
Boosters, Rossford Police Patrolmen’s Association, Rossford Firefighters Association,
Rossford Eagles, American Cancer Society of
Wood County, Rossford Convention & Visitors Bureau, the RBA Business Fair, the RHS
AfterProm, Rossford Riverfest celebration, All
Saints Catholic Church summer festival and
more.
An on-line version of the newspaper can be
viewed on the Internet at www.rossford.com.
News alerts can be found by following us on

Readers also are welcome to use the website to send a letter to the editor or submit a

Anyone with a press release or news items
is invited to turn them by 10 a.m. Tuesday to
meet the deadline for each week’s edition.
Readers also are welcome to submit ideas
for stories in the Rossford community by calling the Record at 419-874-4491 or sending an
e-mail to [email protected].
Since 1978 the Point and Shoreland Journal has been serving the Point Place area by
providing weekly news about schools and
local businesses and organizations.
“The Journal” continues to expand coverage and circulation to the readers of the
area. The newspaper reaches more than
10,500 homes in the 43611 and 43612 zip
codes.
Advertisers who wish to take advantage of
this increased circulation are encouraged to
contact our office to speak to a sales representative who can help your business grow.
The Point and Shoreland Journal offers
you the opportunity to reach new markets
through its sister publications the Perrysburg
Messenger Journal, Rossford Record Journal
and Holland Springfield Journal with a combined circulation of 34,000 homes.
The Journal regularly publishes information about the Ottawa River/Point Place environment and the nearby wetlands area.
Readers will find articles in The Journal
about events at the Point Place Library and
up-to-the-minute news about the happenings
at the Friendship Center.
Published by Welch Publishing Company,
a full service printer, The Point and Shoreland Journal offers an entire range of printing services including menus, flyers, business
stationery and business cards.
The Point and Shoreland Journal promotes
the annual Point Place Days which is spon-
sored by the Point Place Business Association. The paper also supports the American
Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation,
American Diabetes Association, United Way,
Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, Brownies and
Girl Scouts, as well as area military organizations and local churches.

The Holland-Springfield Journal is brought
to readers by Welch Publishing Company,
headquartered at 117 East Second Street in
downtown Perrysburg.
Since its inception in 2003, the Journal has
shown steady growth. Thanks to its loyal readers and advertisers, the Journal’s circulation
has increased from 7,500 to 9,000 homes and
businesses.
The staff at the Journal feels strongly that
the dissemination of local news is critical to
the Holland/Springfield Township community.
People crave information about local events,
civic and township affairs and school news.
Through the years, Journal readers have made
their voices heard on issues ranging from
school levies to police protection.
Residents also have given life to the special “Journal Readers” column. The stories are
among the most popular pieces in the Journal
as readers travel around the world, sharing
their experiences and taking photographs of
themselves holding a copy of the paper at
unique locations. The staff appreciates the
many loyal readers who have helped to make
this column such a huge success.
Other highlights of the paper include a calendar of events, Springfield School columns,
public records section, obituaries and church
page. None of the stories or special sections
would
be
possible if not for local advertisers. These
businesses make it possible to print the newspaper each week. The Journal encourages area
residents to “Think Local First” when making
purchasing decisions and to support The Vil-
lage of Holland and Springfield Township
businesses that, through their advertising dollars, bring the Journal to your home each
week.
The staff at the Holland Springfield Journal looks forward to serving the community
for many years in the future, and we believe,
like Rowland Thompson of Allied Daily

Perrysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau
PROGRESS–JULY 2015
105 West Indiana Avenue • 419-874-9147
www.visitperrysburg.com
The Perrysburg Convention & Visitors
Bureau (CVB) was formed in March 1998
for the purpose of publicizing and promoting the City of Perrysburg through tourism
and convention business.
It is the mission of the Perrysburg CVB
to promote Perrysburg as a visitor destination area.
“We market Perrysburg to cultural, educational, historical, trade and other organizations to encourage them to visit
Perrysburg’s historic sites and to patronize
our restaurants, retail establishments, hotels
and motels,” said Sandy Latchem, CVB ex-
ecutive director.
The CVB responds to a variety of written,
online, phone and walk-in requests for relocation, visitor, tour and general information
about the city.
Last year, the CVB distributed approximately 10,000 copies of the Perrysburg Visitor’s Guide, and responded to more than
600 requests for relocation and visitor information.
The Perrysburg CVB is located at 105
West Indiana Avenue in Perry’s Landing and
is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m.
Perrysburg Farmers Market
The CVB manages the popular Perrysburg Farmers Market
now in its 17th season. The market is open every Thursday from
3 to 8 p.m. beginning the week
before Mother’s Day in May
until mid-October. Open rain or
shine, the market hosts more
than 50 full season vendors and
an additional 20 seasonal vendors.
Market-goers can stoll down
Louisiana Avenue in downtown
historic Perrysburg and enjoy the
many offerings of the farmers
market including fresh flowers
and plants, fresh vegetables and
fruits, fresh eggs and homemade
jams, BBQ sauces and a variety
of cheeses, along with handcrafted jewelry and dried flower
arrangements.
“I am so proud of how the
market has grown over the years
with the variety and quality of
our vendors,” said Ms. Latchem.
“I appreciate the loyal patronage
that we have had over the years
and hope the shoppers will continue to support the market as we
strive to continue to make it even
better.”
The Music at the Market outdoor concert series begins in midJune and continues through
August at the Commodore
Schoolyard, at the corner of
Louisiana and Indiana Avenues.
Concert-goers are encouraged
to bring blankets and chairs to the
lawn of the schoolyard and enjoy
an evening of entertainment with
area bands.
The series is sponsored by the
Perrysburg CVB, City of Perrysburg and Perrysburg Automall.

voluntary association of business people primarily from
throughout the Perrysburg area and northwest Ohio. The
Chamber was incorporated in 1968 and is a 501 (c) (6)
membership organization.
The Chamber, in partnership with the community, is
committed to the support of business growth and the economic vitality of its members and the Perrysburg area. The
organization’s mission statement is to “Provide a forum,
conduit and voice for business and community issues. The
Chamber will strive to create, enhance and preserve the
economic strength and quality of life in the Perrysburg
area.”
Currently there are more than 300 area businesses that
are members of the chamber. “We are honored to have
many members who have received awards and honors in
their respective professions,” says Sandy Latchem, executive director. “Many are also involved in other civic groups
working for the betterment of our community.”
The Chamber receives hundreds of inquiries each
month concerning area businesses, Ms. Latchem said, and
it only refers business to its members. “We are committed
to providing opportunities to help our members succeed in
their businesses. We offer many tools including business
networking events, advertising opportunities, business referrals, and health insurance discounts,” explains Ms.
Latchem. Throughout the year, the Chamber also sponsors
events designed to showcase the contributions of its members to the public.
The Chamber holds meetings for its members on the
third Wednesday of every month (excluding July) and new
members are always welcome. Among the Chamber’s annual events are an annual Golf Outing (July), and the Harrison Rally Day Festival (September).

When people first learn that Bollin Wealth Management founder
Phil Bollin has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, their first
reaction is often something along the lines of “wow financial planning is
much different than engineering, how did you end up as a financial planner?” But Mr. Bollin sees his engineering background as perfect training for financial planning, “What most people don’t realize at first blush
is that engineering and financial planning are both inherently about solving problems. The only real difference is the type of problems you are
solving.”
And one of the biggest problems that Mr. Bollin and the rest of his
team at Bollin Wealth Management are trying to solve is helping retirees
maintain a comfortable retirement. “The retirement landscape has
changed dramatically in recent years,” adds Mr. Bollin. “Not too long
ago, retirement was a pretty simple matter. You retired after 35 or 40 years
with your employer, received your company pension and Social Security and lived 10, maybe 15 years in retirement. Now retirement has become much more complicated because of longer life expectancies, the
demise of private pensions, soaring health care costs, Social Security’s
uncertain outlook, and the burden of retirement planning falling squarely
on the shoulders of the individual retiree.”
As the retirement landscape continues to evolve, Bollin Wealth Management is positioning itself to advise pre-retirees and retirees on the best
strategies to attain and maintain a comfortable retirement. “There is so
Phillip Bollin, Certified Financial Planner™ much bad information out there right now,” says Mr. Bollin. “Many advisors are telling their clients to claim Social Security at 62 when it is
first available, but that strategy is often not in the long-term best interests
of the retiree. Too many advisors don’t take the time to explain all of the
risks retirees face, and are all too eager to sell them ‘safe’ investments that
can actually expose the retiree to other risks.”
Bollin Wealth Management focuses on educating clients on the different types of risk that retirees face, and helping them understand the
relationship between risk and reward for each retirement decision they
make. “We help our clients focus on the things that we can control: investment costs, spending, behavioral coaching and ensuring our clients
have the proper investment allocation,” commented Mr. Bollin. “We help
our clients stay disciplined with their financial plans and strategies, and
help them ignore the noise and things they can’t control like market conditions, interest rates, inflation and political conflicts.”
Mr. Bollin added, “We would like to be able to help everyone we
meet with to attain and maintain a comfortable retirement. But the reality is that we aren’t able to help some of the people we meet with because they are either looking for something that doesn’t exist or strategies
that have been proven not to work. We will often refer them elsewhere.
We know where we can add value to our clients’ lives, and we will not
take on opportunities that aren’t a good match for our expertise just to add
revenue.”
The planners at Bollin Wealth Management encourage you to visit
their website at www.bollinwealth.com, sign up for their monthly
newsletter and/or call the office at 419-878-3934 to schedule a free noobligation consultation.

Downtown Perrysburg
Inc.’s Winterfest 2015 will
host the National Ice Carving
Association’s (NICA) U.S.
National Ice Carving Championship (NICC) competition
this Friday and Saturday,
February 20 and 21 in downtown Perrysburg and the
Town Center at Levis Commons.
The NICC is the U.S.
premier event that crowns
NICA’s national champion.
To qualify to compete in this
event, ice carvers had to
place first, second or third at
any NICA-sanctioned competition or scoring a bronze
medal during their career.
This special event has
two categories–professional
and master.
The professional category is for carvers who are at
the bronze to low silver range
in scoring. The master category is geared to carvers who
consistently score silver to
medals.
Twenty, first-class master
and professional ice carvers
will compete in Perrysburg
for $15,000 of prize money
and the national title and then
display their ice creations.
Master and professional
division carvers will be given
three hours on Friday to
carve one block of Levis
Commons and four hours on
Saturday in downtown Perrysburg to carve a two block
showpiece.
Joining the competition
in the master category will be
Rich Daly, who is recognized
by the Guinness World
Records as “the World’s
Fastest Ice Carver.” Mr. Daly
captured the title in 2013
after carving 60 ice sculptures in two hours, 52 minutes and 12 seconds, beating
the old record of four hours,
22 minutes and 55 seconds
set back in 2002.
Mr. Daly, from Long Island, New York, has been
carving ice since 2000 and is
president of Ice Melodies,
Inc. Throughout the winter,
the ice carver travels to local
and nationally sanctionedice carving competitions and
is recognized as one of the
top carvers in the U.S. earning two gold medals at the
2014 U.S. National Ice Carving Championships.
He became the U.S. National Speed Ice Carving
Champion in 2012 and the
Masters Division Multi block
Champion in 2014. Mr. Daly
has won more than 50 NICA
medals from recognized
events, which includes five
gold medals in five events
this season.
When not traveling and
carving ice, Mr. Daly is employed by the William Floyd
School District on Long Island as a culinary arts
teacher.
“We are very excited to
host the ice carving championships in Perrysburg. And to
have 20 master and professional carvers from around
the country including Rich
Daly is awesome,” said Rob
Brunner, event chairman.
“We are expecting thousands
of people to visit downtown
Perrysburg and the Town
Center at Levis Commons to
watch the competition and
Presents
enjoy the many activities
planned for the event.”
In addition to the competition, there will be ice carvings sponsored by area
businesses and organizations
on both sides of Louisiana
Avenue and Levis Commons
for public viewing.
Master and professional
division carvers will be given
three hours on Friday to
carve one block of Levis
Commons and four hours on
Saturday in downtown Perrysburg to carve a two block
showpiece.
Joining the competition
in the master category will be
