AN EXCITING FUTURE
Pink Tank Events, formed by Perth businessman Troy Barbagallo, has owned the
rights to Miss West Coast, the Miss Universe WA Preliminary for the past 8 years.
Troy was keen to create unique and exciting experiences for the contestants, as
well as corporate sponsors and social event frequenters.
Pink Tank Events changed the culture of the Miss Universe Pageant in Australia,
offering a very unique opportunity to the contestants, with image building, health
and fitness, beauty and confidence seminars, combined with a myriad of social
and corporate networking commitments. The pageant has become a very
desirable ticket for the young women of Western Australia and their families.
The Miss Universe Organisation has rewarded Troy’s Pink Tank team for their
efforts and granted us the National license, asking us to roll out our program on a
national level.
This years’ Miss Universe Australia program will follow the recent success of the
Western Australian campaigns in 2014 and 2015, whereby Pink Tank had over 400
applicants, 70 finalists, 13 official events each year, including a very unique State
Final every bit fitting of the Miss Universe international brand.
Pink Tank has exciting plans already in place for 2016 and we would like you to
join us.
LUXURY BRANDS AND EVENT EXPERIENCES
Pink Tank also owns the Royal Queensbury Championship (Perth’s most renowned,
high-end, corporate charity event, debuting in Melbourne and Brisbane in
2016) and is an arm of the Barbagallo Group of Companies. Barbagallo Group
owns numerous luxury brands including the Box Magazine publishing house;
motor yacht distribution for Sunseeker Australia; luxury motor vehicle retail
including brands such as Rolls-Royce, Ferrari and Lamborghini; and boutique
watch specialists with brands including Audemars Piguet, Zenith, U-Boat and
Montegrappa, to name but a few.
AN EXTENSIVE CORPORATE LUXURY NETWORK IN AUSTRALIA
Pink Tank has an extensive network of luxury consumers throughout Australia,
thanks to their relationship with Barbagallo Group and their chosen children’s
charity ToyBox International.
2
CHANGE OF CULTURE
The Miss Universe West Australian Preliminary (Miss West Coast)
has set new standards for the way pageants need to be run in
Australia. The 2016 Australian Pageant will offer as much, if not
more, to all of the young women participating nation-wide.
Fun, Social, Educational, Health and Travel elements aside, the
2016 program offers an array of health, wealth and educational
opportunities, a fully accredited Powerful Impression Certificate,
a valuable support network and a very enticing line up of prizes
that any young girl would be crazy to ignore, all without having
to put their hand in their pocket.
Pink Tank has created a competition fitting of the powerful,
international Miss Universe brand that delivers:
•
an exciting event that attracts significant public interest,
•
professional management,
•
honesty and accountability,
•
responsible care when looking after and protecting the contestants, and
•
confidence building in its contestants and encouragement for them to achieve their dreams.
We have built a pageant with a positive culture, that is fair and
that Australian girls want to be a part of.
Australia’s most beautiful, talented, educated and confident
young women will want to be a part of Miss Universe Australia
under the management of Pink Tank Events.

THE 2016 CAMPAIGN TIMELINE
Exciting brands, competitions and venues are all part of ensuring the 2016 campaign

REGISTRATION
THE 2016 REGISTRATION
To be held nationally during March 2016, these events attract an
estimated 400+ entrants, plus their friends and family in support. These
also act as the launch of the 2016 campaign.
24 contestants each from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide
along with 2 each from Darwin, and Tasmania will be chosen to
compete in the program.
Each city will host a day dedicated to registration in their CBD. These
days provide many opportunities for sponsors and product partners
and offer a wonderful medium for exposure due to the large crowd
attendance and a very keen media following.
It is also the first time the official MU Show Bags, including marketing
material from our sponsors, are distributed to the public.
It is our aim by 2017 to have all Australian capital cities hosting a live
registration.
Please note, The Miss West Coast – Miss Universe WA platform has
been run as a separate entity to the Miss Universe Australia program
for the past 8 years and will continue into the forseeable future. The
City of Perth have proudly renewed their support for Pink Tank in 2016,
making it the “City of Perth Registration Day” for the eighth year in a
row in Western Australia. We are sure the Honorable Lord Mayor would
be more than happy to provide a reference if required.

PARADES
10 PARADES OVER 5 DAYS AT 5 ICONIC AUSTRALIAN RETAIL
DESTINATIONS
The Parades are the first opportunity for the contestants to hit the stage
to walk, talk and work it – for many, this is their first time ever being onstage. Held at major retail centres or precincts, contestants parade in
official outfits including swimwear and outfits from retailers in the centre,
and receive constructive feedback from the judging panel to help them
improve for the upcoming Heats.
Participating retail centres are able to capitalise on the contestants’
support crew heading to their venue as a truly engaged audience.
Two parades are rolled out each day, with generous breaks in between
to explore the centre and retailers. Enjoy all the benefits of this full
entertainment package being bumped in and out; all-inclusive, all
organised.

POWERFUL IMPRESSIONS CERTIFICATE
To ensure the 2016 National Finalists take to the stage putting their
best foot forward, they graduate with the fully accredited EGAMI
Powerful Impressions Certificate, prior to the Miss Universe Australia
National Final.
Not only does this assist the girls in building their personal brand for
success in the Miss Universe Pageant, but also leaves them with an
amazing tool to assist in job hunting and real world challenges they
will face after the pageant is over. This educational element to Miss
Universe Australia has been overwhelmingly well received in Western
Australia over the past five years, and is an element that Pink Tank
management is very proud of. It will remain a permanent part of the
national program whilst under our management.

NATIONAL MISS UNIVERSE
AUSTRALIA LIVE VENUE &
ACCOMODATION PARTNER
For the first time in Miss Universe Australia history, Pink Tank
Events will produce a National Final suitable for television
with aim to telecast live to an Australian audience. Early
indications are pointing towards free-to-air.
The Venue & Accommodation Partner is more important
than ever, but we can also offer a value proposition better
than ever before.
The Venue must have a ballroom or theatre with staging
and lights suitable for television; be able to provide 44
twin-share accommodation for seven days (with breakfast);
accommodate up to 10 celebrity judges for the night of the
Final; and potentially accommodate important media in
the interest of both parties.
The Venue Partner will enjoy all of the benefits of a Pageant
Partner, making it potentially a 12-month campaign and
culminating in a very powerful marketing exercise at the
highly anticipated conclusions to the Miss Universe Australia
2016 pageant.
14
THE GOWN
PER STATE PER DESIGNER PACKAGES $5000+ PLUS SAMPLE PRODUCT, PLUS
PRIZES
The gown section is arguably the most anticipated for contestants and
viewers alike. The abundance of beauty that graces the stage truly
exemplifies the spirit of Miss Universe.
This year, as Pink Tank prepares all of the contestants and builds a team
mentality around each state group, we will also create a state-by-state
competition amongst local designers that wish to benefit from the MUA
alliance.
A qualified, celebrity judging panel will be engaged to choose the best
gown of the National Final (not necessarily worn by the eventual Miss
Universe Australia winner). The winning designer will have the incredible
opportunity of creating the gown for the Miss Universe Australia title
winner to wear on the international stage, a marketing opportunity
investment with a return many times greater than the investment to be a
local Product Partner.
In Western Australia, we engaged the services of Tarvydas and more
recently Steph Audino. We are now looking for the perfect fit by way of a
local gown designer from each state.
15
MU SHOW BAGS
PACKAGES PER STATE $3,000+ PLUS MATERIAL FOR PLACEMENT IN BAGS

and/or promotional material will be placed into all the official MU Show
Bags handed out at these events. Show Bag Partners are also pushed on
social media channels, as well as during events by our emcee.
First preference will be given to Preferred Partner and National Sponsors,
and Pink Tank will not take on any conflicting sponsorship partners. You
will also be represented on the Pink Tank Miss Universe website and have
the opportunity to be represented in approximately 20,000 promotional
bags handed out over the season.

THE LUXURY OF GIVING
Since 2009, ToyBox International has been the chosen charity for the Miss
Universe WA Preliminary.
ToyBox International is a children’s charity dedicated to improving the lives of
sick and disadvantaged children. They are passionate about starting in your
own backyard, and so the money raised by contestants will be invested into
grants for children in need in that state.
The contestants also get the opportunity to get hands-on, including cooking
dinner at Ronald McDonald House, spending extended time in Starlight
Express Rooms nationally, and the opportunity (should they be crowned Miss
Universe Australia) to visit the children’s wards at hospitals around Australia –
brightening up kids’ days with a surprise visit and gifts.
The contestants are encouraged to brainstorm and pursue their own
fundraising ideas during the seven-month campaign, with the most successful
of each state winning the title of Miss Universe ToyBox Ambassador for the
year ahead.

The Jollys aren’t the only

“We are absolutely shell-shocked

“It was completely different, an

“We would do it again in a

“We are just so thrilled and

Darren added: “Everyone has

“The first thing we spoke about

SOME FEEDBACK
“Troy and Soph I cannot thank you enough. I could not have done this without you. The support you give us is amazing
and the program is the greatest thing a girl could possibly do.”
RENAE AYRIS - MISS UNIVERSE AUSTRALIA 2012, WA NATIONAL FINALIST 2012
“Entering Miss Universe has completely changed my life! It already had long before the final in Melbourne. I learnt so
much about myself and it opened up so many opportunities. I became much more aware of the world around me and
where my help, as a fortunate Aussie, could be used. I met girls that will forever be my friends and I couldn’t have done
any of it without them.
SCHERRI-LEE BIGGS - Miss Universe Australia 2011, WA National Finalist 2011
“Congrats to both Sophia and Troy for your success with the WA group this year. I also want to thank you for the time
and effort you both invested in mentoring and supporting Ashlea during the last six months. I am sure she has benefited
immeasurably from the opportunities and range of experiences. Thanks again .”
IVAN INGHAM - Father of Ashlea Ingham, WA National Finalist 2011
“Thank you for your time, your energy, your support, your trips, your food :) and most of all thank you for helping me
become a better version of myself that I never knew I could be. You guys have literally changed my life. What you do
for not only the Top 6, but the whole of the Top 60 is incredible and we are all so much richer for having you in our lives.”
CHARLOTTE GOODLET - WA National Finalist 2013
“I never expected the Miss Universe WA program to change my life as much as it has. I’ve made some incredible friends
and learnt so much about myself and life. All you need to do is ask my friends and family and they’d say my confidence
and happiness has gone up ten fold!”
HOLLY JOHNSON - Miss Congeniality WA 2014
“The State Final and the last six months have been amazing! I have grown so much as a person and have achieved
things I never dreamt of doing. I feel so empowered and confident in all facets of my life now, and am making changes
as a result. You, Troy and the team put together a wonderful program, and the beautiful and intelligent girls that result
at the end of the six month journey are a real testament to both of you. So many of the girls look up to you and not only
do you fulfil your role as a coordinator, but you take it that step further as a mentor and a friend.”
CHARMAINE ANDERSON - WA Top 24 Finalist 2012
“Being a sponsor for Miss Universe WA is a premium exercise in brand building, as it gives you a great platform to
showcase your brand to a wide audience over an extended period of time, across all media channels. Through this
association, my brand has grown to be a recognisable name in the beauty industry, and I have had the opportunity to
network with some great fellow sponsors, who have turned into lifelong friends.”
