MOUNT
STEP #4
STEP #1
Open bolt to be sure weapon is unloaded.
STEP #2
Remove barreled action from stock. Remove bolt assembly from action by
lifting bolt, squeezing trigger and pulling bolt out to rear.
CAUTION: BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH STEP #3, CHAMBER CLEARANCE MUST
BE CHECKED! DRILLING INTO CHAMBER AREA (INCORRECT MOUNT POSITIONING) MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH!
STEP #3
Drill press is recommended
for this step.
Place the scope mount
(holes forward) on receiver
flush with receiver ring
front face. Square mount
on receiver using the flat
on the bottom of the
receiver-magazine well area.
Clamp securely in position.
Double check positioning
for squareness.
Use supplied larger #11 drill
and spot drill rear screw
hole. (Spot drill will "mark"
center of hole for next step.)
With mount still clamped,
use supplied smaller #21
drill bit (and cutting oil) to
drill through. (Drill slowly
so as not to burr inside of
receiver below hole.)
With mount still clamped, use supplied 10-32 tap (and oil), to tap through receiver.
Without unclamping, clean
area and securely screw in
the supplied 10-32 x 1/2"
screw. Repeat this process
for the forward hole.
Remove scope mount and clean mount and action. Remove burrs from tapped
holes.
STEP #5
Set scope mount in place, install and tighten screws. (Thread lock is
recommended.) Check screws to be sure they do not protrude below the inner
surface of receiver. NOTE: MOUNT MUST BE USED WITH SUPPLIED REPLACEMENT BOLT HANDLE OR BOLT WILL NOT OPERATE.
