What Burpee's Seeds Have Done for Me.
Burpee's Seeds grow sturdy true to name and description, with my
neighbor I can say "Isn't it great to know your seeds will grow.".
I have a number of perennial flowers in different varieties raised from
seed for my hardy border.
I get much more satisfaction from hardy plants than anuals, since they
bloom as early and often more luxuriant and live year after year.
My bed of fifty gaillardias are gorgeous raised from seed last year.
As for vegetables I am always trying something new from Burpee's
Last year I raised seventy begonias from a packet of Burpee's Fordhook
Pink. They soon came into bloom, blooming continuously, doing well in
a north window, though in sun the color is brighter.
This year I have ninety primroses in different colors and varieties,
Burpee's being the only place I know where primrose seed may be
bought each color seperately.
The pleasure and profit thus recieved, more than pays for the time and
expenditure.
My friends are glad to pay me a good price for my lovely plants. They
wonder why I have such luck. It is love, patience and Burpee's seeds,
making lifes pathway much less dreary.

Of all the different seed growers Burpees is best.
My folks have all tried Burpees seeds and think they cannot be beat.
Had it not been for Burpees seeds my gardens would be worth almost
nothing.
The Burpees seeds seem to have more life in them and grow faster than
any other seeds raised. The seed that I have got from Burpees are all
fresh.
It is a great pleasure to walk about the garden and see all different kinds
of fruits and vegetables growing. I am sure Burpees have done a great
deal for this country by selling and raising the valuable seeds.

-2The flower seeds are of an excellent quality. I have been complemented
several times for raising the wonderful panzies; but Burpees kneeds all
the compliments because they sold me the seeds.
The vegetables I have raised from Burpees seeds were very delicious.
You get more seeds at Burpees for the money and of a better quality.
I have spent many hours wondering around in my garden, gaining
insight into the wonders of nature.
I always expect to buy from Burpees because I know that I am getting
good seed and my moneys worth always.
With hope for success I remain,
Your everlasting customer.

What Burpee's Seeds
Have Done For Me.
Burpee's seeds have enabled me to turn barren, unsightly places into
gardens of infinite beauty. A very small amount of money can buy
enough Burpee seeds to plant a garden of vegetables or flowers, that
will last - all summer, and if planed right, far into the cold winter months.
The vegetables - are strong - growing plants yielding - abundantly - all
through the season. They are excellent for cold pack canning because
of their large size and firm texture

They are sturdy enough to grown in different climates and under
different conditions. They are not as susceptible to plant disceases as
most plants.
The flower seeds produce luxuriant flowers and foliage. They are not to
be equaled by any other seeds I have ever used. They are always
exactly as they are discribed and not adulterated in any way.
All that is necessary to grow plants with Burpee Seeds are - a good
seed bed, rain, - and sunshine I can depend on growing wonderful
masses of color to beautify this world we live in by planting Burpee

Last winter I was confined to my room by a very painful serious illness.
At the end of the second week I was losing my hold on my disposition.
One morning my husband brought me a Burpee large leaved Colens. It
was about six inches high and the colorings were exquisite. All day I
spent trying to find the most beautiful leaf and forgot part of my pain.
That night one of the most beautiful leaves gave me my good Pixie, and
all through my illness my Pixie brought me back to nature and health.
When the pain was worst Pixie showed me the rainbow of hope in my
plant, and I could always follow Pixie to the foot of the rainbow.
Each new leaf brought me nearer to nature and faith in God, and so I
learned my lesson of obedience from nature. If a leaf of my plant was
bruised it suffered with me, (one was by accident), and taught me how I
had abused my health when I had it. What my Colens did for me, may
be called what you will for some of no call it nature,
And some if no call it God.

My greatest pleasure in Summer is gardening and using Burpees seed
had increased my pleasure with each year.
They germinate so surely and grow so vigorously that it is wonderful to
watch them. I have often counted the larger seeds when planting and
found in many cases, every one germinated and knew by the stand of
vegetables almost every seed grew.
I never have a failure with Burpees seeds.
They are always true in form and color, a great advantage in showing
both flowers and vegetables. I have taken a number of prizes for my
garden in garden contests, also for individual exhibits at fairs. Not being
an expert gardener, I believe my success due to buying the best seeds.
Quality is everything in vegetables and I always find those grown from
Burpees seeds unsurpassed for quality and flavor.
I have sold cut flowers for several summers and find the size of blooms
makes mine sell where others will not. Last year I made $60 from a 50'

What Burpees seeds have done for me
Last year my son died, being entirely alone I sold my home and bought
a small house on a 30 foot lot with a most discouraging back
[[strikethrough]] back [[/strikethrough]] yard. While cleaning found an old
Burpee catalogue, turning its pages and thinking of a day over forty
years ago when my father, looking at his garden, said "Burpee's seeds
are [[underlined]] very [[/underlined]] satisfactory". Until that moment I
had not seemed to realize all thi word implies. How splendid to be
broadcasting to the world for almost half a century something that is still
proving satisfactory to millions of people.
Wanting a garden, I turned my back on trouble and faced that dreadful
back yard. put the ground in condition, planted Burpee's seeds, watered,
weeded, hoed and waited.
The man who helped me with the spading said "you will ^[[insertion]] not
[[/insertion]] raise vegetables enough to pay for the seed." Besides
storing beets, onions, carrots and parsnips I canned 46 jars of peas and
beans.
In getting close to nature regained my

Good seed is not expensive at any price when it is know to be pure true
to name and of high-producing strains. With vitality to insure
germination. This is what I have always found when planting Burpee's
seeds; I never worry about "Will they come up". We cannot afford to
cultivate the sod and then plant poor quality seeds. Its a waste of money
time and patience. It required great experience and care to produce
good seed; and I have found with pleasure and profit that Burpee's has
that experience.
And friends around here knows the same.

One day I observed Burpee's Seed Catalogue lying on the Old Colonel's

I never regret doing so. The Garden I had that year supplied my family

To Whom It may Concern
I have been growing flowers & vegetables for pleasure & for a living for
twenty five years. some years I have fairly good success others years I
lost from twenty to twenty five %
per-cent of the crop. I would blame the season & the fertilizer but it
never struck me that the seed would have anything to do with it until
about ten years ago a friend of mine gave
me one of Burpee's Catalogues & I sent for a few packages

of seeds I noticed they came up quicker & grew more regular so I have
been growing all Burpee's seeds ever since & it is a bad season that I
lose five % percent of the crop. I found that the seeds were fresh well
selected & ripened & they germinate quicker than poor seed & they
grow with such vigour that the insects dont attack them
From my experience I would well recommend Burpee's seeds for the
home gargen where the time & space is limited

When I was just a child I heard my cousin, a Quaker, talk about
"Burpee's seeds." Never having been on a farm I was not much
interested, but while visiting at my cousin's I made a remark about the
fine vegetables with which his table was always laden.
He repeatedly mentioned the fact that Burpee's seeds grew those
vegetables. The name "Burpee's" was dinned (if you will pardon me for
accusing a Quaker of dinning) in my ears until I never forgot it.
After I was married and moved to a farm I was proud to be able to say
with a confidential air "We shall use "Burpee's seeds".

I sent for the "Annual" early and studied it during all my spare time. That
year I had to depend largely on the "Bull's Eye" for the selection of the
best varieties and it was indeed a good method.
My table was abundantly laden with fine fresh vegetables That summer.
The proceeds from the sale of vegetables and flowers nearly equaled
that of the four cows my husband milked and I haven't even mentioned
the improvement in my health and the joy we got out of our wonderful
garden.

What Burpee's seeds have done for me.
There is something in a name when it has stood the test-of-time and has
faithfully and loyally served mankind; "A good name is rather to be
chosen than many riches," so with the name Burpee.
Well do I remember, when a child, my father used Burpee's seeds and
my thoughts - go back to the luscious fruits from the garden, especially
the Fordhook Squash. My sisters would cut them in hal[[overwritten]] f

clean out the seeds, sprinkle with salt and dots of butter then bake until
tender and serve warm, in the shells. They are most delicious.
Again I think of the peas and new potatoes, the kohlrabi and tomatoes,
as well as many other wholesome and delicious vegetables. I am very
fond of all garden fruits and flowers. They give bouyancy health and
happiness. Who has a keener appetite or remembers better the joys of
childhood?
Now since I am grown and have a home with growing children, my
greatest delight is to plant our garden with

My Mother-in-law also uses Burpee's seeds and we both consider him
the best, most prompt and satisfactory, seedman in the country.

'What Burpee's Seeds Have Done For Me.'
Since no man liveth unto himself I am sure you will pardon the misuse of
the term 'me'.
The Burpee beans were the outstanding success of that first year of
gardening. We were only ameteur gardeners, then; but the pleasure of
working in the soil, of planting seed, and watching the development thru
seed, plant, bloom, fruit and return to seed; was, as ever

now, a joy most gratifying. How can anyone who observes this growth of
even the the proverbial 'mustard seed' not revere and worship a Creator
so magnificent? Constant diligent toil coupled with Burpee's seeds bring
a return satisfaction which can not be paid in money alone.
It is Burpee's whole-salad tomatoes that we owe (to a great extent) the
health of our oldest child. Cholera and ricketts had made her a
hopeless skeleton case. Accidentally she ate a ripe whole

to improve rapidly.
Last year our Burpee tomato crop was famous throughout the entire
country. The yield averaged over 500 bushels of sound, ripe fruit per
acre. Burpee's matchless, whole-salad, and ponderosa were the
varieties planted and many of them weighed 3/4 pound or more.
Burpee's seeds indeed have aided

Dear Sirs,
I write you this letter to let you know what success I have had with
Burpee's seed. I ordered my seeds from you early last spring and
planted them early. They came up and grew aff fast in spite of the cold
wet weather. Last year I bought my garden seeds from a local seed
house and I could not

get any stand of any thing. I planted as much as three times and then
only had half a stand. I decided then to go back to Burpee seed, even if
they did cost more, it would pay to use the best.
I used your seeds for my first time in 1922 and had a fine garden. Most
of the other garden's a round here suffered on account of dry weather.
There are as much differences in your seeds and other seeds I have
used, as there is in day and night.
