and Senior High Recognition Awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 8th.

Mr. Hoppins caught the
attention of the grade
one class with an
interesting story!
Track season has come to an end with many Bowden
athletes performing well at all meets.
At the CENAA (Junior High) Meet we had several athletes place in the top 4 in their events.
Grade 7 Students who placed are: Mason Empey
placed 4th in Hurdles, Jacob Aplin placed 1st in
1500m, Callie Cocke placed 2nd in both 100m and Long jump and 4th in hurdles,
Addie Leeming placed 3rd in 400m, Roseanna Bradshaw placed 3rd in Discus and
Alicia Van der Rijt finished 3rd in hurdles.
Grade 8 Student J'Lyn Corbett finished 3rd in hurdles
The grade 7 girls relay team placed 3rd and the grade 9 girls placed 4th
At the Area (High School) Meet, we had three students place in the top 4 in their
events: Linda Raduner placed 4th in the Discus, Robert Schan placed 4th in Javelin, 2nd in Shot Put and 1st in Discus. Brandon Rude placed 4th in the 100m and
2nd in Discus.
Robert and Brandon moved on to the Zone Track Meet held in Camrose to participate in Shot Put and Discus (Robert) and Discus (Brandon). At this meet, the boys
were up against some very tough competition. Robert placed 6th in Shot Put and
7th in Discus.
Brandon qualified for Provincials in Edmonton with his 2nd place finish in Discus.
This is only the second time in well over a decade that an athlete/team has qualified for Provincials from Bowden Grandview School!! Brandon went on to Provincials where he placed 9th out of 16 competitors. Very well done Brandon!
Congratulations to all of the athletes who represented Bowden Grandview School
extremely well at each Track Meet and thank you to all of the coaches for their
time and effort!
Time: Approximately 8:30a.m. - 4 p.m. (depending on the number of teams entered)
Where: Bowden Community Action Park, 2300 - 21 Street
Cost: $50/team of 10 - Cash only, payable at the Town of Bowden Office. Entry fee $50.00 per team, or $5.00 per team member. Each entrant will receive a wristband.
This will be the ticket to a hamburger, chips and pop for lunch. Band will be marked
off with a sharpie to indicate lunch received.
All non-participants will pay $5.00 for lunch.

Registration deadline will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
Team coach/contact must supply full roster, entry fee & waivers complete for each
team.
Waiver for each participant is mandatory. Space is limited so register early.
