Scream Things

Née à Londres, Janieta Eyre vit et travaille à Toronto depuis plus de 20 ans. Elle est
reconnue pour ses autoportraits surréels où elle se dédouble à la manière de jumelles aux
costumes excentriques. Les thèmes de la maternité, de l’identité et des liens fraternels
sont au cœur de ses recherches. Elle compte à son actif plusieurs expositions individuelles au Canada et à l’international dont What I haven’t told you (Christopher Cutts,
Toronto), Janieta Eyre (B&D Studio Contemporanea, Milan), New Works (Diane Farris
Gallery, Vancouver) et Motherhood & Natural History Museum (Cristinerose Gallery, New

Gallery de Madrid ainsi qu’à la Galerie Art Mûr à Montréal.

Janieta Eyre was born in London, England and has lived and worked in Toronto for more
than 20 years. She is known for her surreal self-portraits, in which she appears in twice
over, like twins dressed up in eccentric costumes. The themes of motherhood, identity
and fraternal bonds are at the heart of her artistic enquiries. Several solo exhibitions of
her work have been held in Canada and abroad, including What I haven’t told you
(Christopher Cutts, Toronto), Janieta Eyre (B&D Studio Contemporanea, Milan), New
Works (Diane Farris Gallery, Vancouver) and Motherhood & Natural History Museum
(Cristinerose Gallery, New York). The body of work In the scream of things was shown
