Pote’s Notes...
H
i y’all,
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who attended the Potentate’s
Gala. I was told it was a great evening and everyone enjoyed themselves.
I’ll have to take their word for it since I was in a fog all night (sort of like a groom
at his wedding). I do apologize for not getting around to every table and each
individual. I wish I could have spent more time with those I did get a chance to
speak to but the evening went too fast. I would like to thank two of the units who
help make this evening special: my appreciation to Bill Frankenstein, Commandant
of all Units and the Sahara Patrol for the outstanding job they did with the
formal march-in and to Scott Shaw, Ed Bulgatz and all the Koppers for
putting together and handling the hospitality room.
Now that the party is over, it’s time to get back to the grindstone.
The next event will be the joint ceremonial at the Western Shrine
Association convention in Las Vegas on April 23th through April
25th. There is still time to make your reservations and join us for a fun
weekend. Just log on to www.westernshrine.org for more information.
(Come on Nobles, loosen those purse strings and take your Lady to
Vegas for a nice weekend).
We will have our quarterly stated meeting on April 11th at 10:00 am.
We have several important items on the agenda, so please try to be there
to vote. Also breakfast will be served before the meeting and your ladies are welcome to join us.
The Potentate’s Panama Canal Cruise is April 28-May 13 and if you want to join us, let me
know. We have some special events planned while we are at sea and will be visiting 5 countries and
going completely through the canal. It will be an enjoyable 2 weeks.
Our annual stag Indy 500 trip is coming up May 20 through May 25. It is a fun 5 day trip so if
you are interested call Rio at Shrine office.
I hope you can make some of these great events. We also have other events coming up during
the year so keep your eyes on the Al Malaikahian and hopefully there’s something that interests you.
Well, it’s time to go down and feed the horses and oh yes, do the other chore. Thank you again
from my lady Carolyn and myself for allowing us to be a part of your world, even if it’s only a small part.
The current initiation fee and current annual dues (2015) are to be
reduced from $150.00 to $50.00 for this onetime Special Ceremonial,
which will take place on June 13, 2015.
The Special Ceremonial and the reduced fees will be ONLY for the
2015 Elected Officers of a Masonic Lodge located in the domain of Al
Malaikah Shrine.
The new Nobles that cross the sands in the Special Ceremonial are
expected to pay the regular annual dues in 2016 and thereafter.

The $50.00 fee will NOT include a FEZ or “Shrine Bucks” for the new
Nobles.
The top line signer for this group shall be the Potentate, Ill Sir Lynn
Georgeson and he will not receive any “Shrine Bucks”.
The Elected Officers will consist of the following: Worshipful Master,
Sr. Warden, Jr. Warden, Treasurer and Secretary. Appointed officers are
not eligible for this promotion.

Elected Officers that are currently Nobles of Al Malaikah and wish to participate in the ceremony with the Elected Officers that will
become Nobles, can do so at no cost to them to increase Lodge/Shrine unity.
RESOLVED: Article 32. 332.1 of the Al Malaikah Shrine by-laws state that the initiation fees shall be a minimum of $50.00 for this
onetime offer, therefore the fee applied is within the by-laws.
Resolution is to be published in the March issue of the Al Malaikahan newsletter notifying all members of Al Malaikah Shrine of the
upcoming vote on April 11, 2015.
A two thirds vote from the membership of Al Malaikah present at the stated meeting on April 11, 2015, is required for acceptance of the
Special Ceremonial.

WHEREAS: This resolution is set forth to increase membership within
Al Malaikah Shrine, and create a better relationship and cooperation
within the Masonic Lodges in its jurisdiction. It is a onetime offer
for the Elected Officers of a Masonic Lodge to become Al Malaikah
Shriners for a significantly reduced cost. The amount of the Initiation
fee and the annual dues for 2015 will be $50.00. There will not be any
additional promotions paid out to anyone.

Calling All Noble Golfers
and Want To Be Golfers!
Al Malaikah is starting a NEW GOLF Club and we want YOU to
be part of it !!!
The tentative plan is to play once or twice a month rotating play
between weekends and weekdays.
The Al Malaikah Golf Club philanthropic roll will be to run our
annual Golf Fundraiser tournament to benefit the LA Shriners
Hospital for Children.
Last year we raised over $5500 for our hospital.
So, if you are interested in Fun, Fellowship & Philanthropy
centered around Golf then this is the Club for you.
