Your Essential Guide To
All things GAA in SG for the AGG
November 2012
Blondes DO have more fun..
Just a reminder that the Annual Club Awards night is on this Saturday the 24th of November.
It is a celebration of all the club and its members have achieved over the past year.
Awards will be given in recognition of those who have been out, standing in certain fields. Like
Farmers gazing at the horizon, sniffing for rain.
There will also be a few "special" awards for those who have done something memorable (or
forgettable for them!!!)...so watch out!
Photographic evidence of the year will be displayed on the TV screens so talk nicely to Kymbo if she
has anything incriminating!
When: 8pm Saturday 24th November
Where: Ballymoons (above Muddys)
Finger food will be provided

Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (HOME) is a registered society and charity,
which provides aid and support to migrants who have been abused and mistreated in Singapore. It
was founded in 2004 to promote the safe migration of peoples in search of greater livelihood
opportunities overseas.
They assist migrant workers who are abused and/or exploited. Unpaid salaries, excessive working
hours, work injuries, physical, verbal and psychological abuse are some of the problems these
workers face. Some of these workers are also victims of human trafficking.
Each S$220 we raise will house and look after one migrant worker for a month. Our goal is to raise
S$5,300, which will look after two people for a full year.
Gareth will be heading there post the run to see how our money is being spent (and also of course to
hand over one of those massive novelty cheques!). He’ll get a few photos as well to show the good
work being done.
You can raise the cash yourself and donate, or via the link below. Please use (and get other donors to
use) the words “Singapore Gaelic Lions” when you donate so we can track the money.

Get the Voice Out
Speaking of winners, Netball Ireland clinched the European Netball Championship in June. The team
has now been invited to play in the International Nations Cup in Singapore from 2nd – 8th Dec.
It’s the seventh year Singapore has held the Nations Cup and sees world ranked teams Singapore,
Malaysia, Tanzania, Sir Lanka, Namibia and Ireland compete for the title. The competition promises
to be fast and furious action as players exhibit their skill and grace, while demonstrating different
styles of play. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Ireland to play against international teams and in the
process potentially move up world rankings. It’s a massive step forward for Netball Ireland who will
benefit significantly by playing on the International Netball circuit.
They are looking for some vocal match-day support after our sterling efforts for Team Ireland at the
Youth Olympics 2012. Playing at Tao Sports Hall, 297A Lor 6, Toa Payoh, the schedule is as follows;
Sun 02-Dec - 17:00 - v Namibia (can they take the post Marathon Brunch support?)
Mon 03-Dec - 17:00 - v Singapore
Tue 04-Dec – 15:00 - v Tanzania
Wed 05-Dec - 15:00 - v Sri Lanka
Fri 07-Dec - 15:00 - v Malaysia
Sat 08-Dec – Finals Day – Time and Teams TBC
Anyone interested? I’ll bring the Tri-colour & the Finger of Victory*
*which was in my bag at the pitch at KL. It never fails.
