The Strategy 2014 – 2020 of Vilnius Business College rests on the
core pillars that have been shaped by changing economic-social
environment and tendencies of the growing integration across
scientific-educational-business sectors visible globally and in
Lithuania, as well new requirements outlined by the European
education system, which call to foster creative thinking and
entrepreneurship, promote technological achievements and
innovative ideas in modern society.
We believe that the agenda and priorities set up in the Strategy
for the next seven years will largely add to the institutional
capacities in terms of extracting, collecting, disseminating
knowledge and applying exemplary practices in order to
develop students’, teachers’ and staffs’ distinctive talents
and professional skills that will help them become even
more powerful contributors to the overall well – being and
sustainability in Lithuania and globally.

The time spent in Vilnius Business
College is full of warm memories.
This higher education school pleased
me with friendly and modern
environment, informative and eyecatching stands, attentive staff. I
was really fascinated by lecturers.
They helped me to overcome my
lack of self-confidence, fear of
communicating, asking questions. In
College all the lecturers and students
are like one family full of mutual
respect. Studies were combined with
frequently organized conferences,
meetings with lecturers from foreign
countries. Such events encouraged
my curiosity and interest in various
subjects of my chosen profession
and other fields of interest. The
impressions from my practice in
Baltic Aviation Academy are still
fresh and inspiring. By having the
possibility of everyday e-mail and
phone communication with foreign
partners, I employed my language
skills and knowledge acquired in
College.
One of my favourite subject was
language skills development. I could
not realize before that someday
I will be able to express my ideas
in English language in various
different topics. It was a pleasure
to attend these lectures and I used
to eagerly wait for them. Talented
lecturers always came up with
excellent methods to encourage us
to take interest in peculiarities of
language while at the same time
considering everyone’s interests
and achievements. I am very
grateful that during my study years
I had an opportunity to familiarize
with marketing discipline, which
is necessary in various everyday
situations. I think it taught me one
of the most important things, which
is to properly present yourself in
the job market, pay attention to
important details and be more openminded.
Today I am really happy being able
to develop my small business of
helping others to learn language. By
doing this I develop my own skills
as well. I hope that I could continue
working the job I like. If the situation
would change, I am sure that I will
be able to find work in the majority
of Lithuanian companies. I think that
my love to one language might lead
to learning another one or starting
another studies. I am not afraid of
challenges because I am confident in
my success.

Internationalisation
The academic community has

became an integral part of the
global science and education
sector. International student and

creative initiatives, transparency and
respect towards achievements and
cultural identity of others. Vilnius
Business College, which already
has a notable reputation in terms
of its international presence, is
determined to investigate further
opportunities for enhancement of
internationalisation process.
Addressing the changing
environment of the science and
education sector internationally,
the College will seek a wider
international recognition by
increasing the number of study
programmes taught in foreign

international students. Those
internationals who choose studies
in the College have extended
opportunities not only acquire
and apply gained knowledge and
skills at the international labour
market, but also get life and work
experience in Lithuania, establish
meaningful contacts and lay
foundations for business networking
in further. Staff engaged in
teaching of international students
may not only share their expertise,
but also enjoy new experiences
deriving from employing their
knowledge of foreign languages.
Internationalisation for College, is
an excellent opportunity to increase
its brand awareness beyond the
national borders, to strengthen
its market position, enhance
cross-cultural networking, to gain
supplemental funding sources by
satisfying international market
demands of science and education
sector.

Less than one year has passed since
I graduated from College. I still feel
the satisfaction and joy experienced
during my study years. I still want to
meet my course mates, to visit that
small, but wonderful space, where
I acquired relevant life experience,
business knowledge. Wonderful
lecturers, their ability to skilfully
present information, provide us with
relevant skills, real-life examples,
which are sometimes funny, but
always inspiring and informative will
remain in my memory for long.
Study years were the most
memorable for me too. Here I not
only met people who became my
friends and maybe even future
business partners, but also formed
the basis for a successful career in
a company or even establishing
my own business. Participation in
College projects, presentation of
study programs in various exhibitions
and meetings, organization of
student events helped me to develop
my communication, cooperation
and teamwork skills, which are
becoming increasingly essential and
necessary to me at the moment.
After finishing College, I did not
want to stop learning, so in the
same year I began my MSc degree in
International Business and Marketing
in the University of Southern
Denmark (Syddansk Universitet).
When entering the university I did
not have to attend TOEFL and IELTS
exams, because my College English
course grades were accepted.
I am very grateful to College for
provided knowledge base which
allowed me to keep pace with the
studies in foreign country.

Netherlands) at the conference “IIT-2013”.
In a knowledge based society the
intellectual capital is a currency
of enormous value. Intellectual
capital is deemed as means to
successfully build and maintain
meaningful relationships not only
across organizations but also
different sectors. Development of
project oriented culture has brought
and embedded new practices and
instruments that allow to consolidate
and blend knowledge, expertise and
capacities accumulated by various
organizations to produce relevant
solutions when solving problems at
regional, national and international
levels. To put in practice the EU
strategic guidelines, projects became
one of the most heavily employed
instruments when dealing with
concerns and problems related to
the science and higher education
sector.
Project – oriented activities are
among core priorities of Vilnius
Business College looking to the
future. The College is determined
to exploit better its intellectual
capacities. By initiating and
developing future projects,
the College will strengthen its
international reputation, will
motivate its academic community to
build new professional competences
and skills through active involvement
in project-based work at all levels of
those who have relevant experience
and expertise in this particular
field. Projects are an important
instruments that enable to gain new
knowledge and insights to ultimately
transfer and apply them for such
purposes as teaching, consulting and
professional development, as well
creating the added value directly
responding to the social – economic
needs of the target audiences at the
regional or national level.
The College also plans to take
more active position developing
applied research activities. Those
activities will help to maintain an
open discussion; will help to build
better mutual understanding,
will contribute in promoting
interdisciplinary approach and
ultimately will bridge academic and
business communities’ and their
expertise.
Projects and applied research
activities together are deemed as an
extra source in terms of growth of
intellectual potential and individual
experience to be creatively applied
when planning new creative
initiatives related to the teaching –
learning process. Both of them, the
projects and the applied research
activities are important means to
generate funding flow, which is
planned to be invested in creating
educational and organizational
excellence. The College is convinced
that involvement in those activities
will contribute to knowledge – based
exchange, improve professionalism,
team work, communication and
responsibility, as well will lead to
strengthening of core organization’s
values as open-mindedness,
transparency and others.

When I started working in Vilnius
Business College I did not realize
that I will have such possibilities. First
of all, I got an opportunity to raise
my qualifications and develop skills.
Due to the flexible work schedule I
managed to finish my Bachelor and
Master studies and started working
as an administrator and later as a
study coordinator. At the moment
I work as a personnel and quality
specialist. For me it is more than
just a work position. It is the story
of my personal and professional
development. My work in College
is full of challenges. I acquired skills
that seemed almost impossible for
me before such as smooth and easy
communication with colleagues
and partners, self – confidence,
team work, quick adaptation to new
environments, great organisational
skills.
I am really happy that I still have
plans and personal objectives here in
College. At the moment I supervise
College quality management
system. However, I want to develop
further in the field and become a
professional internal auditor.
I appreciate the environment
where I work, because it is unique.
Communication based on mutual
trust and respect, implementation
of joint projects, warm and friendly
relations help me to develop
and grow together with College
community.

Studying in Vilnius Business College
is one of the most significant
moments of my life. During the
studies I realized that I can achieve
more than I previously realized.
Every moment spent in College is
the source of new experience and
valuable life lessons. I enjoy College
friendly atmosphere, where every
student gets support from lecturers
and other staff members. Such
support is essential in analysing
different subjects and developing
personal knowledge and skills.
The College provides students
with various attractive possibilities.
I notice that the majority of my
leisure activities are related with
the College. Unfortunately, there is
simply not enough time to use all
the possibilities offered by College.
Chosen study subjects and lectures
exceeded my expectations. I am
really satisfied with the insightful
advices received from lecturers and
the fact that I am studying internet
technologies. I am really confident
in my knowledge of chosen study
subject. The knowledge acquired
during the two-year experience
in the College gives me more
confidence in job interviews.
Having finished the first year of
my studies I suddenly began to
feel the need to contribute to
the College development. Then I
became a member of the Student
Association, where I can satisfy
my need to implement various
initiatives and develop organisational
and management skills. The
participation in the activities of
Student Association is useful not
only for me but for others as well. In
the end of the second year I started
to think about job as the possibility
to test my knowledge in practice. I
am sure that my future career will be
related to programming and internet
technologies. I hope that skills,
knowledge and experience acquired
in the College will provide me with
possibilities to establish my own
business.
