Hugh Jackman
Back on Broadway
AP
There are no limitations. You never have to
dance around him. You never have to worry he
can’t deliver something because you can ask
him to do anything,” says Carlyle, who adds
that Jackman only learned how to tap dance a
few weeks ago. “He’s really something”
Hugh
Jackman
inspired Saturday Night Live to create a
recurring sketch about him being both “the
most masculine and most feminine man in
the world.” Take, for example, his last and
next movie roles: He’s currently in the
action-packed robot boxing story Real Steel
but next year plans to star in a version of
the musical Les Miserables.
Jackman gets the joke. He says
his versatility stems from a
vow he made after leaving
drama school to never close
off potential work, whether
it was singing, dancing,
comedy, Shakespeare or
even a superhero
drama. “It started as a
way of always growing
as an actor. That was
the way I was taught
and that was the way I
seemed to thrive. And,
frankly,
stay
employed,” he says.
This is Jackman’s

Broadway — following The Boy From

Daniel Craig in
2009 — and he
has received a
huge welcome.

me, it will go just like that,” the
Australian song-and-dance man
says, snapping his fingers. “I
should do an infomercial.”
The pounds are melting

pounds? Plenty. The man
famous for playing the X-Man
Wolverine says his pants are
being taken in every two days.
“When you dance, your
body just wants to find its natural weight,” says Jackman,
who adds that he’s normally
more lean than muscular.
“I’m naturally a lot more
Tommy Tune than I am

That Jackman is familiar
with both is a testament to his
varied career, one that has

How Keaton fought bulimia
Pattinson scared of prying eyes
ACTRESS Diane Keaton has revealed how she fought a five-year battle
with bulimia. The 65-year-old has admitted how she used to devour
entire tubs of ice-cream before making herself sick, reports
express.co.uk. Keaton was just 19 when she fell under the grip of the
eating disorder in a desperate attempt to stay slim. “It’s a horrible problem, ugly and awful,” she said. The actress wasn’t aware that this condition had a name and suffered for several years until therapy helped
her get better.
ACTOR Robert Pattinson says he refused to speak to a girl when his school
friends learned they were going on a date as he hates drawing attention to
himself. The 25-year-old, who is dating his Twilight Saga co-star Kristen
Stewart, always disliked drawing attention to himself, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“I never had that feeling where I need to show the world anything. I remember
being at school and I asked someone out on a date when I was 12, and the
next day everyone asked if we were going out. I was like, ‘Oh god’. I don’t
think I ever talked to the girl again - it was too much of a hassle.

WARM up your holiday table with a scentsational centrepiece — dress pillar candles with dried oranges,
lemons, and limes. Thinly slice the citrus fruits about 1/8-inch thick. Place a wire cooling rack on a cookie
sheet, and then arrange the sliced oranges, lemons, and limes on the rack. Put the cookie sheet and rack in
an oven preheated to 250 degrees for approximately two hours, or until all moisture is removed.Tip: If you
find that your slices have not dried in 2 hours, you can also turn off the oven and leave the fruit in
overnight. Using a glue gun, connect the citrus slices to each other, forming a band around the base of each
candle. Do not glue them to the candle. Once your candles are decorated, cluster them in the centre of your
Thanksgiving table and weave berried branches throughout to create a cohesive centrepiece.

HUSK WREATH
You can find husks in the international
section of the grocery store, where
tamale ingredients are sold. To avoid
staining your hands, wear rubber
gloves.
Tools and Materials:
Liquid Rit dye, in Wine
Corn husks (50 for 18-inch wreath)
Paper towels or kraft paper
18-inch straw wreath form
Floral U pins
Satin ribbon (optional)
1. In a large bowl, prepare a dye bath
with a ratio of 2 teaspoons of dye to
each cup of warm water.
2. Working in small batches, soak the
husks until they reach desired colour.
(You may need to swish the liquid
around to dye the husks evenly.)
3. Remove husks, and lay them flat on
paper towels or kraft paper; let dry
slightly.
4. While husks are still damp and pliable, begin making the wreath. Tear
husks in half lengthwise along their
natural striation. Working in rows and
overlapping as you go, loop each husk
and anchor its ends to the wreath with
a U pin. Continue until the form is covered.
5. Hang from a loop of ribbon.

The vertical caddies are ideal for grouping necessities and keeping them in

TRICK OF THE TRADE: EASY ARRANGEMENT:
SQUASH BLOSSOMS
DOUGH REDO
Show off the beauty of fall in the bounRoll out some new flavours in your pies
this season. A simple ingredient swap
will give your pate brisee an irresistible
nuttiness. Just replace 1/2 cup all-purpose flour with 1/2 cup chopped nuts
(such as hazelnuts, walnuts or pecans;
pulse with flour until finely ground)
before making your favourite piecrust.
DOUBLE DUTY:
CADDIES STACK
A smart solution for storage-starved
ty of fall: Vases made from squashes
and pumpkins make naturally beautiful
vessels. To make one from a large
squash such as the Hubbard, cut a hole
near the top with a miniature saw, and
insert a glass jar in the neck to hold
water for bittersweet or other branches.
You may also need to trim off some of
the squash’s bottom to stand it upright;
a bit of waxed paper underneath will
protect your tabletop. For petite varieties such as the white Baby Boo pumpkin, insert a small glass votive candleholder to hold water for cuttings of
mum heads or other bulbs.
SPECIAL DELIVERY:
EASILY IMPRESSED
Get the look of a classic wax seal without ...playing with fire. Special wax
sticks are made to melt in a glue gun –
no open flame necessary – making it
easy and safe to turn out lots of the
charming little disks in your favourite
colours. The stamps come in letters and
many other motifs. Make a bunch of the
seals and you’ll be ready to personalise
all kinds of envelopes, presents, and
parcels for the holidays.
Wax Seal How-To
A wax seal is a great way to adorn a
hand-delivered envelope (mailing it is
not recommended).
Tools and Materials:
Nonstick baking mat, such as Silpat
Glue-gun sealing-wax sticks, in assorted colours
Hot-glue gun
Metal seal
Craft glue
1. Place a nonstick baking mat on a flat
surface.
2. Place a wax stick in the glue gun, and
melt several drops of wax about 1/2
inch in diameter onto the baking mat.
3. Using a metal seal, make an imprint
in the wax. Repeat.
4. Let the wax seals cool and harden,
and then peel off.
5. To attach to envelopes, place cards,
or packages, apply a dot of glue to the
back of the seal, and affix.
KITCHEN SMARTS:
SUGAR AND SPICE
Don’t waste any pumpkin puree left
over from baking pies – turn it into a
tasty spread for toast or pancakes.
Beat together 2 sticks softened unsalted butter, 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons
pure pumpkin puree, 3 tablespoons
pure maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon
pumpkin-pie spice, and 1/2 teaspoon
coarse salt with a mixer on high speed
until pale and fluffy. The mixture will
stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to
two weeks.
PARTY TRICK: CALM
THE KIDS’ TABLE
The clock is always ticking when kids
have to sit down to a holiday meal:
How long before those rambunctious
cousins stage a kids’-table revolt? Eke
out a little peace with these clip-art
place mats (and it’ll be at least 20 minutes before they ask to “puhleeeze” be
excused). To make, trim kraft paper to
11 by 17 inches, and run the sheets
through your printer like regular
paper. Set the place mats out on the
table with some cups of crayons, and
let the kids have at it.

Skin care in winter
Beauty
guide
1. Start the day with a hot shower... but before you get out switch to cold water for about fifteen seconds. Then turn up the heat a little, and down again to
repeat the process for about two minutes. Why would I want to do that?! I hear you cry! This is a simple hydrotherapy technique which revitalises the skin
by stimulating the flow of blood through the body. It is both invigorating and highly beneficial to the skin. So even though you may not really enjoy the
process, just think of the all the good its doing you! 2. Use a good moisturiser. Choose a highly protective day cream which contains zinc oxide, and provides SPF30 protection to form a barrier against the elements. Creamier, water-in-oil emulsions are best. And don’t forget about your lips. Chapped lips are
often the most noticeable problem for a lady in the winter. Use a highly moisturizing lip balm which provides a protective barrier, with vitamin E for good
elasticity. 3. Exfoliate at least twice a week. This will remove dead cells and allow the skin to absorb extra moisture. The oil which we all complain about in
the Summer is no longer being produced because of cooler winter temperatures and central heating. Therefore the skin looses the water which should be
retained in the lower dermis of the skin. This can lead to premature aging of the skin and fine lines, whilst your skin can appear puffy and grey. Nice!
4. Drink a glass of hot water with lemon. This Chinese herbal remedy is a sure-fire method of energising your body. It will de-tox your entire system, including the liver and gall bladder. This means that your body will be able to clean the blood faster to get rid of toxins responsible for bad skin.
Drugs to make you

cancer and heart disease,
which is why the agency
refuses to classify them as
lifestyle drugs
NYT SYNDICATE
O the news that a cosmetic company is developing a pill
to prevent hair from graying will offer Americans more
options than ever to not only turn back the clock, but —
as experts note — to eliminate common differences that
make individuals distinct.
The booming worldwide “lifestyle” drug market — which was
estimated to surpass $29 billion in 2007 — pits problems of a
social or cosmetic nature against conditions threatening physical
health or well-being. But all drugs in the United States must
undergo the same rigorous approval process whether they are
designated for disease prevention or treatment or to alter people’s
looks or behaviour. This distinction causes some to question if
vanity should assume equal importance pharmaceutically to what
some consider more authentic medical conditions.
“The debate is often framed here between treatment and
enhancement,” said Dr Joel Lexchin, a professor of health policy
and management at York University in Toronto. “They’re taking
what is traditionally considered normal human variation and trying to homogenise the way people look. On an individual level,
people can do probably whatever they want, but on a collective
level, we have to think about whether producing drugs that
enhance people is really the best use of our resources.”
The anti-gray hair pill under development would join several
other prescription-strength pills, potions or injections in the past
two decades that concentrate solely on “fixing” conditions that —
depending on perspective — can be perceived as a bane or simply
a nuisance.
Propecia (finasteride), which began as a stronger-dose drug to
treat enlarged prostates, has been prescribed to treat men with
male pattern hair loss since 1997; Botox — botulinum toxin —
first used to calm spastic eye muscles, was approved to treat
frown lines in 2002; and Latisse, initially used to treat glaucoma
in the 1990s, became available in 2009 for cosmetic purposes
after patients noticed they were also growing longer, thicker eyelashes.
The US Food and Drug Administration evaluated all of them in
an identical manner to drugs for conditions such as cancer and
heart disease, which is why the agency refuses to classify them as
lifestyle drugs, agency spokeswoman Sandy Walsh said.
“The FDA does not have a special category for ’cosmetic’ or
’lifestyle’ prescription drugs,” Walsh said. “Rather, each prescription drug is evaluated based on scientific data and clinical trials
under the FDA’s new drug application process.”
Under the US Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, a medication must meet the statutory definition of a drug, which is determined in part, Walsh said, by its intended use. Drugs are defined
as “articles intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation,
treatment or prevention of disease,” she said, and “articles (other
than food) intended to affect the structure or any function of the
body of man or other animals.”
Complicating matters is that few drugs — even those used for
cosmetic advantages — are without side effects, some of which are
potentially dangerous. Because it alters pigmentation, L’Oreal’s
new anti-gray hair pill could be a problem if it affected body
moles, making them harder to diagnose as possible melanomas,
according to recent reports on ABC News.
Effects of certain lifestyle drugs might even prove permanent or
dangerous for some. Propecia and drugs in its class may contribute to irreversible sexual dysfunction or raise the risk of developing an aggressive form of prostate cancer, prompting the FDA
to issue a safety alert in June, although the agency said the risk
appears to be low. Latisse may darken the skin on the eyelid or
permanently change the colour of the iris, while Botox may deaden real emotions while robbing the face of its ability to show them,
according to a 2010 study.
“So often, the answers are not known about the true side effects.
If something changes the colour of the irises, what else might it be
doing that’s not so visible?” said Stacy Malkan, co-founder of
Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a nonprofit coalition to eliminate
unsafe chemicals from cosmetics and other personal care products. “This just seems like a new frontier ... of incomplete
research.”
Leonore Tiefer, a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at
NYU Langone Medical Centre, said a “slippery, blurry border”
between the social and medical dimensions of health makes it
nearly impossible to define what constitutes a medical condition
anymore.
“It’s just not so clear about what’s a disorder, a dysfunction, a
disability,” said Tiefer, whose research on so-called “female sexual dysfunction” has challenged the medicalization of common
sexual behaviours and functioning. “Throughout history, the
boundaries have moved around. Medicine proceeds in ways that
perhaps are not so obvious, and drug development does, too.
How do you know something is a medical condition at all, unless
it leads to immediate death? You add on these considerations that
seem to nail it down, but it turns out they don’t really nail it
down.”

Marie Combs files for divorce
Lady Gaga planning to adopt Indian kids?
ACTRESS Holly Marie Combs has filed for
divorce from her husband David Donoho,
of seven years. Combs who wed Donoho in
2004, cited irreconcilable differences as
the reason for the split and has requested
joint custody of the couple’s three sons,
reports contactmusic.com. The couple has
three children together - Finley, seven,
Riley, five, and two-year-old Kelley. Combs
was previously married to actor Bryan
Travis Smith.
POP STAR Lady Gaga, who recently visited India, is reportedly planning to
adopt three kids from an Indian orphanage and one from America. Gaga has
set up the not-for-profit group Born This Way Foundation to help people worldwide develop a new standard of care towards one another. “She’s already set
up her Born This Way Foundation in India and visited two orphanages while
she was there last time. The plan is to adopt three Indian orphans before
adopting more from around the world. She wants at least one American child,
too,” dailystar.co.uk quoted a source as saying. “She’s always wanted to
adopt, ever since she was a little girl. She tells friends she feels she was put on
this planet for a reason and since achieving fame she sees it as a sign that she
has to give back the good fortune she’s received,” the source added.

IRSTEN Dunst steps out of her
comfort zone and deep into a
paralysing depression in her latest
film Melancholia. Better known for
light fare like Spider-Man and
romantic comedies, Dunst plays the lead in the part
science-fiction, part family drama from Danish
director Lars von Trier, which opens in select US
cities on Friday.
The actress, 29, found herself challenged
with intense emotional scenes and nudity while
portraying Justine — a complex bride who
deteriorates into a melancholic depression
after getting married and immediately regretting it.
“It’s a very vulnerable part and there are very difficult scenes, but the environment was very comfortable,” said Dunst.
“Anything I had to do, which I may not have felt
comfortable with in a different setting, felt protected so I could let loose and be open,” the actress
added.
Complicated female characters and visually
arresting images have become a trademark for von
Trier, who cast Nicole Kidman in the 2003 thriller
Dogville and Charlotte Gainsbourg in the 2009
supernatural movie Antichrist.
K
A still from the film Melancholia.
Dunst called von Trier “one of the great directors
of our time.” He, in turn, drew a performance from
Dunst that won her the best actress award at the
Cannes film festival and is now earning talk of a
possible first Oscar nomination.
It is the best critical acclaim Dunst has experienced since her performance as a 12-year-old in the
1994 drama Interview With the Vampire alongside
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
New York Times movie reviewer AO Scott said
the actress “is remarkably effective at conveying
both the acute anguish and the paralysing hollowness of depression.”
Melancholia is an apocalyptic tale of sisters
Justine (Dunst) and Claire (Gainsbourg) set
against an epic backdrop, when Earth’s existence is
threatened by the approach of the planet
Melancholia. Alexander Skarsgard and Keifer
Sutherland co-star.
The film is divided into two sections named after
the sisters, and moves from light, celebratory
scenes of Justine’s wedding to darker anxieties,
accompanied by arresting cinematography and
Richard Wagner’s dramatic operatic score of
Tristan and Isolde.
Justine’s depression and mental decline make
her reliant on the strength of her sister Claire. But
as the mysterious planet Melancholia slowly edges
its way on a collision course with Earth, Justine
finds herself becoming stronger while her sister
crumbles.
“I kind of envisioned it as Justine comes from
this planet that’s going to hit Earth, and this is her
mother Earth in some way,” Dunst said.
The actress believes the overall message of the
film is a comforting one, despite its melancholic
overtones.
“This film is very personal to everyone, but I
think it’s very comforting for anyone who’s gone
through any depression in their lives,” she said.
“It’s exciting to experience a movie like that.”
Dunst has more than 60 films under her belt in a
career that has seen her transition from child
actress to Hollywood star in movies such as
Crazy/Beautiful, Marie Antoinette and the SpiderMan franchise.
“I could retire, and I’d be proud,” laughed the
actress.
However, she isn’t quite ready to step away from
the spotlight. She wants to portray iconic characters like Marlene Dietrich, or Blondie singer Debbie

“Blondie was going to happen at one point and
I’d still like to do that. She was successful in her
thirties, so that would be fun to play,” said Dunst,
adding, “Don’t worry, I’m not going to put out an
album, I’m going to stick to acting.”
The actress will next be seen in an adaptation of
Jack Kerouac’s On The Road, and alongside British
actor Jim Sturgess in sci-fi romance Upside Down.
Honorary Oscar for
Oprah Winfrey
REUTERS
PRAH Winfrey received an
honourary Oscar for her
charitable work on Saturday
in what she called an unimaginable moment for a black woman who
grew up poor in Mississippi and rose to
the top of Hollywood stardom.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences annually bestows its
Governors Awards on people who have
made an impact in the industry. This
year, the honourary Oscars went to
Winfrey, actor James Earl Jones and
makeup artist Dick Smith at a black-tie
affair that brought out stars such as
John Travolta, Glenn Close and Alec
Baldwin.
Talk show host and film actress
Winfrey, who was nominated for a supporting-actress Academy Award in
1985’s The Colour Purple, was given a
Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award by
O

a young woman who was sent through
high school on a financial grant she
earned from Winfrey’s foundation.
Winfrey teared up when accepting
her honourary Oscar and described the
moment as “unimaginable” given her
humble roots growing up in
Mississippi.
“All of us can make a difference
through the life we lead,” Winfrey said.
“We’re all here to help each other.”
She talked of her career as a TV chat
show host and her movie work, and said
it was The Colour Purple that paved the
way to stardom which, ultimately, led to
philanthropy.
That movie “door opened to me
through the magic and majesty of film,”
she said.
James Earl Jones was given his honourary Oscar for a body of acting work
that ranges from his Academy Awardnominated performance as a boxer in
The Great White Hope to voicing the
role of the villainous Darth Vader in the
Star Wars movies.
Jones was not on hand because he is
in working in London, but he spoke to
the Los Angeles audience in a speech
that was taped earlier on Saturday.
He said he was “deeply honoured,
mighty grateful and just plain gobsmacked,” using British slang for being
astounded.
Finally, the Godfather of makeup
Dick Simon was given an honourary
Oscar for his behind-the-scenes work
using makeup and prosthetics to make
actors look old, young, sick, dying and
dead in films ranging from The Exorcist
to The Godfather.
Simon gave a tearful and heartfelt
acceptance speech in which he said he
has loved every minute of his work in the
movie business. “This kind of puts the
crowning cap on all that,” Simon said.
The Oscars, or Academy Awards,
for the films of 2011 will be given out
in a ceremony in Los Angeles on
February 26.

Big B looking forward to new arrival in family
I wanted Esha to do something other
than acting: Hema Malini
Scene

MEGASTAR Amitabh Bachchan, whose daughter-in-law Aishwarya
Rai is expected to give birth mid-November, can’t wait to see the
new arrival and says he is enjoying the hustle bustle in the house.
‘The family gathers together from all over as we wait for the ‘arrival’
... Greatest joy for me - a full house and the ‘chahel - pahel’ (hustle
bustle),’ the 69-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Aishwarya is expecting her first child with actor-husband
Abhishek Bachchan. Apart from waiting excitedly for the
baby, Amitabh also took some time off to watch Ranbir
Kapoor-starrer Rockstar which released on Friday and the
actor says he is impressed with the entire team.
WORKING in Bollywood is a demanding job, says Hema Malini adding that
this is the reason why she was not very keen on her daughter Esha Deol joining filmdom as an actress. "It is difficult to survive in the industry. You have to
go through so much in this career. You have to be successful, but if your
movies don't work you are sad and then there comes a burden to do much
better. You have to keep working harder and harder, emotionally it disturbs a
lot," said Hema. "In other professions, it is not noticeable. Here you are immediately in the eyes of people that's why I was not very keen. I wanted her to
do something else, something like interior designing, or be a dancer.

Yesudas completes
50 years as singer

Malayalam classical
musician and stage
actor, was his first

S
INGING legend KJ Yesudas will celebrate his golden jubilee as a singer
as it was on this day half-a-century
ago that he recorded his first song
which marked his arrival in the film
industry.
In 50 years, he has sung over 35,000 songs
in 14 languages. Some of his popular Hindi
numbers are Surmayee Ankhiyon Mein, Dil
Ke Tukde Tukde Karke, Jaaneman Tere Do
Nayan. Down south, he gave hits in movies
like
Vadakkum
Nathan,
Madhuchandralekha and Pattanathil
Sundaran.
State Minister for Culture KC Joseph
told IANS that the Kerala government
will honour him in the most befitting
manner.
“Even though a request did come up
to give the status of ‘State Singer’ to
Yesudas, the constitution does not permit state governments to confer titles on
individuals, but we will certainly give
him a Lifetime Achievement award. The
details of this are being worked out,”
said Joseph.
The 71-year-old veteran
was born in Fort Kochi to
Augustine Joseph and
Alicekutty. His father,
who was a wellknown Malayalam
classical musician
and stage actor, was
his first guru.
Later he joined
the RLV Music
Academy
in
Trippunithura
near Kochi and
then studied at the
Sree
Swati
Thirunal
Music
College, in the capital city under the
training of Late
Semmangudy
Sreenivasa Iyer. But he
had to leave his studies midway due to
financial crunch.
For a brief period,
he was with Sri Vechur
Hari
Hara
Subramania Iyer, after
which he took advanced training from
Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar.
Incidentally, it was MB Sreenivasan, wellknown South Indian music director who after
his first meeting with Yesudas in 1961 had predicted that a star is born and was the one who
gave Yesudas his first singing assignment.
Sreenivasan sent Yesudas a telegram asking
him to rush to Madras (now Chennai) for a
recording.
But when the young singer reached Madras,
he was told that he would have to wait for two
months because there’s a change in plans.
Yesudas was shattered because he had no
money. He even suffered a typhoid attack.
When the recording date arrived, he had not
recovered but the organisers were kind
enough to allow him to sing a four-line ‘shloka’
of Sree Narayana Guru in the Malayalam
movie Kalpadukel.
This marked the first recording for him and
there was no looking back for Yesudas, who
even after 50 years continues to be one of the
most sought after singers in the industry.
On numerous occasions the veteran singer
has said that he has struggled to keep his
career afloat right from the time he was a student, when poverty was giving him a tough
time.
One incident the singer often quotes was
when he was 16 years old and studying at the
Sree Swati Thirunal Music College. During
those days he used to eat at a small hotel.
One day when hungry Yesudas sat down to
have lunch and a bearer was about to serve
him rice, the hotel owner growled and said
that Yesudas need not be given food till he
pays the outstanding balance of Rs 35.
Many years later when Yesudas was flying
high, he was told that the hotel owner who
shooed him away was sick. The singer immediately reached the hospital and told him not
to worry about the money and took care of his
medical expenses.
The singer clarified to the hotel owner that
he was not trying to clear his long standing
debt of Rs 35 because that unpaid bill will keep
alive a relationship between them.
Over the years he has been conferred the
Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan besides
winning seven national and 17 state film
awards in singing.
Yesudas has three sons and his second son
Vijay Yesudas too won the state film award for
singing in 2007.
Even though settled in Chennai, Yesudas
comes to the state often and also owns a home
in Florida.
Pooja
Missra
‘Footage queen’
Pooja Missra tipped to
win Bigg Boss 5!
IANS
RANSGENDER activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, who
was evicted from Bigg Boss 5 on Saturday, says she is
glad to have left with her “dignity and self-respect”
intact. She predicts troublemaker VJ Pooja Missra will end up
being one of the top three contenders on the reality show.
“My journey in the show was fantastic. When I was nominated this time, I knew it 110 percent that I will be evicted. So I am
fine with the public’s decision. I am only happy that I have
managed to come out without losing my dignity and self
respect,” Tripathi told IANS over phone from Mumbai, after
leaving the Bigg Boss 5 house.
Tripathi, who is known for her fights for the LGBT community, entered the show on October 2 with 12 female celebrities
and one male celebrity. In six weeks of her stay, she not just
came across as a strong, determined and opinionated person,
but also proved her point - that transgenders are after all, the
same humans as all!
Of all her co-participants, Tripathi feels Pooja has a definite
chance to reach the finals.
“Juhi Parmar and Amar Upadhyay stand a chance to reach
the finals, but Pooja Missra seems to be the most likely to reach
the final three because she is the biggest footage queen ever,”
said Tripathi.
Pooja has been the centre of attention this season thanks to
her catfights and over-the-top attitude. She has received a lot
of flak from her co-participants, but the audience seems to be
in love with her melodrama.
“Pooja Missra has been nominated for eviction five
times…but I guess the viewers are enjoying watching her. She
is such an opportunist, and making the best use of the platform by grabbing so much footage,” added Tripathi, who feels
actor Akashdeep Saigal’s behaviour in the Bigg Boss 5 house is
“gross and crass”.
