this simple yet creative means of sharing the Gospel. I’ve seen it
impact and change lives here too, as people begin to realize that
they are not just packing a box with a few toys, but packing a box
that overflows with the love and hope that only Jesus brings.”

1 SHOEBOXES OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE GOSPEL
• People of every background love to pack shoeboxes—creating a
community and your world.
When shoeboxes are distributed, many children hear a clear presentation
of the Gospel for the first time in their lives. But that’s just the beginning.
Next, the local church with which we partner invites these boys and girls
to participate in our discipleship program, called “The Greatest Journey,”
during the next few weeks.
It starts with your congregation packing shoeboxes full
of small gifts and inviting your community to join you.
The gifts go to needy children in some of the most destitute
parts of the world—as tangible and very meaningful
expressions of God’s love.
But there is far more to shoeboxes than toys, hygiene items,
and school supplies. Each one is an important seed for
spreading the life-transforming message of Jesus Christ.

2 CHILDREN’S LIVES ARE TRANSFORMED
Through The Greatest Journey’s 12 biblicallybased lessons, children hear the Good News of
Jesus Christ and learn to follow Him each day.
After graduating, children receive a certificate and
a New Testament in their own language.
3 NEW BELIEVERS SHARE THEIR FAITH
The local church with which we partner continues
to nurture the faith of these boys and girls—and
encourages them to share what they’ve learned. They’re
asked to identify nine friends and family members with
whom they will share their new-found faith.
4 CHURCHES GROW−DISCIPLES MULTIPLY
More than 2.8 million children have participated in The Greatest Journey
since 2009. Each year, hundreds of thousands of additional children are
coming to Christ through the program, and through graduates sharing
their faith with others. With the support of your church, this discipleship
movement will continue to grow, as the Gospel is proclaimed to millions
more children who have not been reached yet.
great opportunity to open your church doors to your community

• No need to have pastors or staff lead—it’s a great leadership
opportunity for church volunteers
• Keep growing! This project is easily included
with existing church ministries (missions,
children’s, newcomers, etc.)
• Local volunteers, collection centers, and
shoeboxes and promotional resources
