Background
 Fred Mills, Us TOO Board Chairman

Executive committee members could communicate more
effectively by serving as committee chairs
 We now have 4 major standing committees in addition to the
Executive committee; 1) Program, 2) Finance, 3)
Development, and 4) Board Membership
 Kay Lowmaster serves as Vice-Chair of the Board and Chairs
the Program committee
 Dave Houchens serves as Treasurer and chairs the
Development and Finance committees
 Ridge Taylor serves as Secretary and is Board Development
Chairman

Charitable Giving
 Generosity is a long standing American Tradition –
one that continues to grow.
 Americans pride themselves on philanthropic
tradition and the role of private charities.
Charitable Giving
 Europeans have an expectation that government will
provide funds for charitable causes.
 In 2006, Americans gave nearly $300 billion to
charities – equal to the national incomes of Norway
and Indonesia.
Sources of Charitable Giving
 Individual Contributions (over 75%)
 Foundations
 Bequests
