course tuition fees. This loan is only available to students on
eligible courses at an approved institution such as Wigan &
Leigh College which include:

The Access to HE Diploma programmes are well
regarded amongst universities across the UK.
Access to
Science
They are a fast-track route into higher education for mature
students. They require a high level of commitment on time
in order to achieve the right level of academic development
needed to progress onto university.
Access to HE students can progress onto a variety of degrees
depending on which pathway you choose, including:
nursing, midwifery, social sciences, paramedics, social work,
health sciences, sport & physiotherapy and primary teaching.

You will need either GCSE Maths or English at grade C or above as well as recent
Level 2 Study. You are advised to check the individual entry requirements with

Many students do not have to pay the full course fees as funding, fee
remission and loans are available depending on your circumstances.
Anyone over the age of 24, studying the Level 3 Access
programme can apply for the 24+ Advanced Learning
Loan. This does not have to be paid back if you then go on
to university and successfully complete your chosen degree.
