Carey D. sent in a letter of resignation. She’s resigning from all Area Service Committee commitments due to
work schedule, etc .
Mentioned about all of the upcoming ASC positions that will be available as of August. Chair, Vice-Chair,
LDO, RCMII, etc.
Old Business: The Motion to combine the PR and H&I Subcommittees did not pass.
Nominations: Eladio nominated himself for Alternate Secretary. Informed to submit qualifications.
Elections: - No elections held during this area.
New Business: Next Area Service Committee meeting scheduled to take place at Hope Community Bible
Church on Tuesday, June 9, 2015….. Vacant Positions at the Area Level as of August was mentioned. No one
came back with any objections to the proposed budgets, so they stand as they were submitted. Discussion
about Alberto assuming the Activities Chairperson position, then (going out of town)., and or not having any

Activities meetings, etc. Discussed that Margaret S. would contact him to find out if he still had the
willingness to serve as Chair and or what the situation was.

I am currently serving as the RCM for the area since September 2013. I served as a correspondence secretary in the Staten Island area from June 2011 till December 2011. I served as Staten Island area Secretary from December 2011 till February 2012. I have been clean since January 25, 2011 and am grateful I have had many group commitments. I have a sponsor who has a sponsor. I have the willingness to serve. I have all the electronic tools required for the position, e.g. Laptops, printers (lazier and jet ink), fax, and copier. I have extensive knowledge and use of computer equipment. On the private sector I was on executive committee of a 50000 member union and also served as chair person, recording secretary. Executive board, etc. for over 12 years. I have taken public speaking and creative writing courses in Cornell University. I was an adult education and high school teacher for over 7 years. Sertoma is available -­‐ The middle of October -­‐ Preferred -­‐ The middle of November Regular sites $23 per day for 4 people Primitive Sites $13 per day for 4 people Pavilion $125 per day June & Steve could DJ – Provide Sound System. 150 paying people last year. Hamburgers/hotdogs Sell candies, sodas waters Snow cone machine Diane is going to follow up with Weeki Wachee Christian Camp again. • Limit People to 150. • No addict turned away only for speaker meetings or day pass. • Children? Same cost, and does that affect the total number of people? Try for WWCC, but plan for Sertoma. All agreed that camping cost is up to the attendees and registration is separate. June 18-­‐20 Glen Duncan 727-­‐418-­‐2273 John Griffins 863-­‐712-­‐7588 After the meeting Diane called Jinx back and also Pastor John Griffiths. • Pastor Griffiths mentioned the cigarette butts left everywhere and now there was now no smoking allowed on the campground. • He said he was the president of the board and was willing to advocate for us at the board meeting at the campground on June 18-­‐20. • He said we need to follow the campground rules, which are posted on the gate as you enter the park. • Diane will get a copy of the rules to bring to the next committee meeting.
