August and September Events Near Meetinghouse Apartments
September 6: Chester Riverfront Ramble
Fall fun is the name of the game at the Riverfront Ramble.
Held along the picturesque Delaware River, the annual Chester event is a day-long festival with endless entertainment opportunities.
Expected to draw more than 12,000 people, the popular festival features an antique car show, live performances, an Iron Chef
competition, fitness instruction, a science fair, dozens of food and craft vendors, a petting zoo, and spectacular fireworks over the river.
Bring a sweater, blanket, or beach chair and spend the day enjoying the great outdoors!
September 22-27: World Meeting of Families
Pope Francis will be joining us in Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families! The long-awaited papal visit will put Philly in the
international spotlight, so don’t miss your chance to be a part of this historic occasion. Visit the official World Meeting of Families website
for more information: www.worldmeeting2015.org/papal-visit/.
Through September 27: Spruce Street Harbor Park
Last summer, visitors were blown away by the debut of Spruce Street Harbor Park, a seasonal pop-up park on the Delaware River
Waterfront. The riverside oasis returned by popular demand in 2015 with beer gardens, pop-up restaurants and, of course, hammocks.
With its expanded boardwalk arcade to on-site sweet treats from Old City's old-school ice cream parlor Franklin Fountain, the park is a
new and improved attraction that serves as the perfect spot for a date night or family fun day.
Ongoing Events
E-A-G-L-E-S! Football season is almost upon us, and the Philadelphia Eagles are kicking off the season with an open practice at Lincoln
Financial Field at the end of August.
Catch the Delaware State Fair through the end of September. With rides, concerts, games, and more, the fair is fun for the whole family!
Media’s Dining Under the Stars takes al fresco dining to a new level. Grab a table and enjoy the late-summer weather every Wednesday
night on State Street.
Resident Reminders
Please help us keep our community clean by being mindful of where you put your trash. And remember to keep your trash and recyclables
separate, or the waste-management team will not pick up the bins.
While we encourage you to enjoy your outdoor spaces, please don’t hang laundry or any other articles on balconies or patios.
