Since its beginnings in 1981, Artistic Director/Choreographer Linda Sohl-Ellison and Rhapsody
In Taps’ artists have created a vast repertoire, honoring the tap tradition and exploring new
directions in tap choreography with live music. Rhapsody In Taps’ 30th Anniversary presents
the World Premiere, Salute to Soul, performed by the entire company to music by Otis Redding
and Sam Cooke (sung by Monti Ellison), solo tap improv phenomenon Bob Carroll, special
appearances and a retrospective program of milestone works: Piru Bole (tap with Indian
tabla), Drum Thunder, Swingin’ With Cedar, Riptide (African drumming), Laughing With Tears
(klezmer music) and Stickato. Join Rhapsody In Taps’ dancers, musicians and special guests for
an unforgettable celebration!
