SECRETARY’S SCRIBBLES FOR
MEETING – The July monthly
meeting of the Mid-State Antique
Auto Club was held at the Crossroads
Office Park, 690 Mechanic St.,
Leominster, Monday June 5th …
JULY
2010
Our President BRYAN LeBLANC opened the meeting promptly at 7:05 PM and asked for a “Moment of Silence” for
our departed members, friends, victims of catastrophes and our troops overseas. Pres BRYAN asked for any new
members or invited guests. No one introduced themselves. 35 Members were signed in… We welcome all members,
new and old…so, stop by next month!!!
REPORTS - SECRETARY MARY BURCHSTEAD – Reading of the previous Monthly Meeting was waived as these
minutes appear in our monthly newsletter. Our President then asked if there were any additions or corrections to be made
to the report that appeared in last month’s newsletter. There were no replies so the report was accepted as printed.
TREASURER GARY REED – read the Finance Report which covered the previous month. The report was accepted by
the members present. GARY also noted that the bank balance included moneys the club has set aside for our annual Tech

FITCHBURG CIVIC DAYS – this year, Civic Days

events all day long and “old cars” were invited from
10AM to 7PM. Our members did show up - 16 cars
were there during the day at one time or another. A bit
too long for everyone to stay the entire day. Maybe this
is something that needs “some more thought” for next
year- i.e. ‘Old Cars in the Park’ from 4 to 7PM ???
FITCHBURG JULY 4th PARADE - MO
said - It was a beautiful summer day. Our
thirty cars were directly behind the zillion
fire trucks, moving slowly, bumper-tobumper (or was it pumper-to-pumper).

Prince, and rebuilding after the Jan. 12 earthquake has a long way to
go, Leominster resident Emery Gaudet said Wednesday” was the beginning of a July 4 article in
the local newspaper about our SUNSHINE LADY & PAST PRESIDENT’S 13th Annual Yard
Sale Fundraiser to benefit the efforts of the Franciscan Missionaries in Baton Rouge, LA. The
paper goes on to say that they have raised about $2000 a year with their ever expanding yard
sale. Along with holding the fundraiser, the Gaudet's send clothing, medicine, baby formula and
other items to the country a few times each year. The yard sale will take place from 9 AM to 3
PM Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Gaudet's home at 25 Piece Street in Leominster. Maybe you’ll

MASSACHUSETTS STREET ROD BILL HAS BEEN SIGNED BY GOVERNOR - House Bill 4871 An Act Relative
to Street Rods and Custom Vehicles was signed by the Governor the afternoon of August 19th and is now Chapter 311.It
has been more than eight years since the initial attempts to provide special registration classes and safety inspections in
Massachusetts for Street Rods and Custom Vehicles as well as limited use replica and specially constructed cars &
trucks (so called hobbyist built kit vehicles) was started. As each General Court Session ended without a bill that could
successfully make it through the legislative process, it did progress further along with each attempt until finally it is now
a reality. Life for owners ‘should be’ a whole lot easier now that this is signed into law. We should have copies at the
next club meeting .
Kit builders, especially Factory Five Racing, Inc. and hot rod /custom owners are most affected - good news - by this,
see the FFR website for their response… http://www.factoryfive.com/whatsnew/update/massbill/passes.html
