Grower
Tip
Grow perennials at cool temperatures (50 –
60 degrees) depending upon the timing of
the finished crop. If grown too warm, the
result may be softer, weaker plants. A broad
spectrum root drench is beneficial at the
time of planting to encourage root
development. Do not fertilize until new
root and top growth are visible.

*PERENNIAL: A perennial is defined by the American Horticultural Society as a plant that lives for two
years or longer, and, once mature, flowers annually. Pleasant View grows plants for vast geographical
areas of the country. An annual in Zone 5 may be a perennial in Zone 7. Our perennial list includes
plants hardy from Zones 7 to 10.
**VIGOR: Vigor pertains to the speed with which plants grow. Number 1 represents a relatively slowgrowing plant, while number 4 represents a fast-growing plant. The rating helps growers determine
which plants will work well in combination with others. Please note that vigor ratings are provided as
a guide only; Pleasant View does not guarantee actual results.
