Terse Tapes. 1979-1983 2015. Why now then?
Because there’s a fable that creativity which happened ‘then’ is somehow more valid
than if performed ‘now’. ‘Then’ & ‘now’ are just for the art industry to assign work
into silos. It discourages new action and is useless. The fable is best refuted if the
action continues on both sides of the false barrier. I’m in a position to demonstrate
the error & I must do so.
This compilation is made in much the same way as we did in 1979-1983. It’s done by asking a few if they want to make something, and they tell a few others and so on. There
is little or no ‘curation’. We could have used tape, but the
media’s not really the issue. It’s about continuation.
I’ve asked everyone to approximate their pictures to 80’s style. This proclaims the
continuity, but it’s also a bit of fun.

Except when you're bursting.
Remote-Control Rectum can often be found attached to Ethernet
cables, and should be scraped away with blunt instruments. This
residue, planted in suitable hosts - potatoes being a good example will ferment and form a suitable carrier for musical viruses.
‘work with evil ducks’ is a pareidoliac sneeze-opera, and should not be administered aurally.
No machines, animals or children were harmed in its production, but some gates may have been sprained.
In this example, Remote-Control Rectum has ineptly mangled audio from a well-known newspaper advertisement, turning it
into a visual parody of the migratory habits of the North-American shoe salesman.
Remote-Control Rectum is a set of non-deterministic leafy green
English vegetables exiled in Switzerland. They grow wild upon
computing machinery, and are difficult to remove once allowed to
root.
The mysterious underground music maker,unheard since
1980’s Saving Souls resurfaces after 35 years.
A beginning ... or the end? Topsy Keevil reports.
Here’s Lucy
Scene one: The Office
Lucy eating chocolate eclairs at the office.
Enter Harry outraged. Makes fun of Lucy’s weight, sagging tits, fat arse. Exit Harry.
Lucy contemplates suicide, but instead, when Harry is out, she cracks the safe and
steals lots of cash. She books in for Liposuction and The Works.
Scene Two: The Clinic.
A nurse in SS uniform is giving Lucy an injection from a massive syringe.
Lucy is whacked. Fish eye point of view shot of Doctors leaning over her.
She now realizes they are in fact aliens.
Scene Three: Operating theatre.
Liposuction on Lucy has begun...
We follow the tube bearing the fat down, down into the bowels of the hospital , deeper
into the centre of the planet where in fact it is being pumped, by the aliens , directly into the fuel tank of their enormous craft. The craft resembles a giant black bat
with fangs and glowing red swastikas for eyes.
Scene Four: The Office
Harry at desk counting coins in orgasmic glee.
Enter Lucy. The coins topple, he is furious.
Lucy looks like something like Joan Rivers crossed with Frankenstein.
She has bolts in her neck and massive stitch marks everywhere.
She puts one hand on hip, raises the other and goes “Tad-ah!!!”
She is fired.
Scene Five: Lucy at home.
The place is a wreck. A junkie pad.
She tying off preparing to inject herself with another huge syringe.
She goes on the internet and skypes Osama Bin Laden.
They make plans.
Scene Six: The Office.
Harry is sitting at the computer watching porn and jerking off.
We see the porn he is watching and it is an unspeakable blur of everything imaginable.
Suddenly he looks alarmed and gets up running to the toilet with his hands on his bottom.
He sits down and does a huge dump looking very relieved.
We follow the pipe down into the bowels of the office building where Lucy is waiting.
Harry’s dump plops into a metal drum she has waiting. She seals the lid.
In the background are hundreds of metal drums.
Scene Seven: At the Post Office.
Lucy is waiting in line carrying a huge rusty metal drum with a biohazard symbol on it.
Scene Eight: Suburban house in the middle east.
Shot of doorbell with “bin laden” written on it.
Bin laden in drag with curlers in his beard, nightie and fluffy slippers, fag hanging
from gob sitting at kitchen table making bomb.
The doorbell rings. It is a woman in burqa with clip board, “sign here” she delivers
the drum.
Bin Laden rolls it inside into a room where he already has hundreds.
He sits down in living room puts his feet up, lights another fag and picks up the remote to turn telly on.
Suddenly the ground begins to shake. An earthquake ensues.
Scene Nine:
Shot of Earth from space. The planet explodes to reveal the alien craft SS Fledermaus .
It flaps toward the camera its fangs and swastika eyes fill the screen.
