Active Torque Control (ATC) is a unique
Hilti technology available for added safety
in combihammers. In the event of a drill
bit jamming on rebar, the ATC system
protects the user thanks to a rapid motor
cut out feature.

The slip clutch is engaged when the
torque on the drill bit exceeds
80 Nm.The slip clutch is a mechanic
system which decouples the drill bit
and motor in a few seconds and does
not stop the motor. Safety clutch is a basic safety
element required by law on combis.
Active Torque Control (ATC)
ATC is activated when the tool’s housing rotates too
quickly. ATC is a magnetic clutch which decouples the
drill bit and motor instantly and stops the motor in a
fraction of a second. ATC is a unique Hilti feature which
protects the user from serious injury by preventing the
tool from rotating out of control in the event of a drill bit
jamming when it hits rebar.
