Holiday Helper 2015
OUR FAMILIES NEED SPONSORS!!
Help bring holiday joy to our families in need. Would your family, neighbors, scout troop, co-workers
or civic group like to become Holiday Helpers by co-sponsoring a Henking/Hoffman family this year?

Can’t sponsor an entire family? A $25 grocery gift card or monetary donation of any amount made
out to the HEHO PTA (with Holiday Helper in the memo field) will go a long way to helping our
efforts!
FOOD DRIVE – MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2 nd UNTIL FRIDAY,
DECEMBER 4th
Please try to follow these suggestions in order to help ensure a balanced collection:
Kindergarten: Bags or canned beans (black/pinto/garbanzo/fava) & rice
1st Grade: Pasta & canned pasta sauce
2nd Grade: Healthy breakfast cereal & macaroni and cheese
3rd Grade: Pancake mix & pancake syrup
4th Grade: Peanut butter and jelly & canned fruits (packed in light syrup/juice preferred)
5th Grade: Canned vegetables and canned soups
**Please do not send open containers or glass jars**
We are collecting gently used winter outerwear (coats, boots,
gloves, etc.), too!
PLEASE NO OTHER CLOTHING, BOOKS OR TOYS.
Collection boxes for food and outerwear will be at Henking and Hoffman starting on 11/2.

PACKING PARTY -- SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5th
Mark your calendars now to join the packing party in the Hoffman School
multi-purpose room from 10am until noon.
All adults welcome, as are students accompanied by an adult.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We need volunteers to wash winter wear donations, to shop for food,
and to help sort & set up for both the packing party & the family pick up day.

food items are being collected at both schools through December
4th. In addition, you can sponsor a family by providing some gift
items and/or a grocery gift card. Whether you are able to sponsor

Heinen’s Tasteful Rewards Program: Teaming Up
For Education
It’s easy to raise money for our schools with this Heinen’s membership
program. Simply log on at www.heinensrewards.com with your email address
and password, click on “my profile” and scroll down to select Henking
Hoffman PTA. Or you can simply walk up to the customer service booth and
someone can enroll you in less than a minute if you already have a
membership card/phone number. Also, it’s important to note that you are
required to register for this program every year. You are not automatically
signed up because you registered last year. Thanks so much for your

Improv and Performance Training is ‘LIFE SKILLS’ Training. This program is not only for kids who want to be actors;
theatrical training for children has been proven to:
Build self-­‐confidence. Develop critical listening skills and enhance verbal communication skills. Produce greater empathy for others as a result of character work. Increase the capacity for peaceful conflict resolution as students learn to negotiate within scene work. Foster confidence in the student’s own ability to make an impact. Increase self-­‐awareness and a greater sense of how one is perceived. Teach teamwork while students work as an ensemble. Be A LOT of FUN! Each term also offers FREE evening student Improv Jams and a FREE Professional Improv
