A Message From Chairperson :
Dear Mahilas,
I bid farewell to the illustrious office of chairperson of our prestigious sabha. It's been a wonderful period of two years
during which it brought me immense satisfaction serving our mahilas and society. I take with me very fond memories of
being chairperson associated and working together with a great team of committee members. I would like to express my
special thanks to our secretary and treasurer for their magnificent support which helped us achieve the success that we
did. Also, thanks to the advisory board, committee, sponsors, donors, well-wishers and all of you. I feel proud about the
launch of our new website during my tenure. I can see enquiries pouring in from various parts of the country to know
more about what we do. I am sure, we can use this portal to reach out to more people and make our presence felt. Finally, I would like to
encourage all our members to be more supportive of our cause and participate in all our activities.
Yours,
My best wishes for our future chairperson and committee.
(S/d.) Ranjani Narayanan
Thank you !

Jai Vasavamba!
As Secretary of this prestigious Organization, I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to serve the Sabha and our cause.

I would like to take this occasion to thank our source of power - the Esteemed Advisory Committee, the most supportive
& encouraging Chairperson - Mrs. Ranjani Narayanan, Ever - so - friendly Treasurer - Mrs. Neeraja Vasanth and all the
committee members, who are able & enterprising and have carried the Sabha to new heights. I would also like to thank
you all for your constant support, enthusiastic participation and energetic response. You, our Mahilas, are the very fabric of our Sabha and bring
purpose to its existence and direction to its Committee members. I trust that you will extend the same warmth to our new committee in their
upcoming tenure. Here is wishing the new committee and TNAVMS the very best for the future!
Forever yours,
(S/d.) Sujatha Ramesh Babu
From The Treasurer's Desk :
Dear members,
“Growth is not taught but caught". This post that I caught has indeed taught me a lot. Accounting, a herculean task seems
much simpler after a span of 2 years, and seniors guiding hand and good team work has made this learning process a
smooth one. We as a team have experimented, experienced and enjoyed our work. Adieu for now and regards.

Recent Past :
Carnival 2011, which was held at Kuchalambal Kalyana Mandapam, Chetpet, Chennai on
Sunday, the 9th of January 2011 received tremendous response from Chennaiites. There was a
good exhibition of stalls by women entrepreneurs. They were a visual treat and the shoppers had a real
field trip. The events were mindboggling. Cooking lovers vied with each other and did absolute justice
to the title “Innovative Saffola Oats cookery contest” and did wonders with oats be it savory or
sweet. Judges, Chef Dhamu and Culinary Queen, Mrs.
Mallika Badrinath had a tough time in selecting the
winners. It was a piece of cake for the children with the
Annapoorna Ashtakam, who recited the Ashtakam with
such grace and ease. The children participated in the “On
the spot activity games” with so much enthusiasm. The quiz on current affairs was well received
by the audience. Cash Gift envelopes competition was another event which provided lot of
opportunity for the women to exhibit their creativity. Collage competition and Drawing &
Painting competitions were also intriguing and imaginative for the children to stimulate their hidden
talents.
The Kuthuvizhakku decoration by our committee
member, Mrs. Calve Sumathi was as usual unusual. It was lit by Mrs. Y. V. Krishna Kumari before
the start of the meeting. Our Chairperson, Mrs. Ranjani Narayanan welcomed the gathering. Our
respected chief guest, Mr. Y. V. Harikrishna Garu of Gopuram Kumkum, felicitated our sabha and
donated Rs. 10000/- to our sabha. Our Secretary, Mrs. Sujatha Ramesh Babu was felicitated and
awarded a citation for her accomplishments by our Mahila Sabha. Our Secretary, Mrs. Sujatha Ramesh
Babu read out the Secretary's report for the year 2010.
Our Treasurer, Mrs. Neeraja Vasanth read out the
projects and scholarships. The scholarships and projects
were handed over to the students by our respected chief guest. The MC for the evening was Mrs.
Vijayanthi Bhashyakarlu who took care of the proceedings very smoothly.
The meeting was followed by the skit, by our committee members, Smt. Voora Sasikala, Smt. Sujatha
Ramesh Babu, Smt. Sunitha Ajit and Smt. Padma Preetha, was a mirror to the everyday life of our
children and how they were falling prey to the ills of modern gadgets. It was short and sweet. At the
end of the skit, Our Advisory Committee member, Smt. Kala Bashyam introduced the artists to the
audience. The highlight of the day was the light music by Junior Superstars, Srinisha and Sharath who did
a wonderful job in entertaining the crowd. The sponsors for the Carnival 2011 were Viveks, Vaibhav Enterprises, Saffola Oats, Soyavita and Akash lites.
TNAVMS has done it yet again. This year's carnival is also a blast, thanks to the efforts taken by all its committee members and the wonderful
audience. It was a treat for all the five senses.
This year's Woman's Day was celebrated at Karuna Sagar,
Little Drops, an old age home for the elderly at
Paraniputhur Post, Chennai on 15th March 2011. Smt.
Ranjani was accompanied by Smt. Shantha Sridhar, Smt.
Shantha Venkatakrishna, Smt. Vaijayanthi, Smt. Sujatha,
Smt. Neeraja, Smt. Padma Preetha and Smt. Sumathi,
went to the home to visit the inmates who really enjoyed
the company of our members. TNAVMS Members sang
English and tamil songs to the joy of the inmates, who
actually ended up dancing to the songs. Later on, nighties
were distributed to ladies & lungies to men and blankets to both men and women. Remote calling bells and diapers were distributed to
the bedridden and biscuits & chocolates were distributed to all the inmates.
