Greetings ! It's vacation time and all of us must be traveling and spending good times with our
family . Sure , we will bring back home memorable events to cherish.
As we have also completed our first tenure year , it had been fun filled with many social and
cultural activities, we have shared various happening in our earlier newsletters. We have
much more coming up this year for all our Mahilas .
It's the support from the Managing committee and the active participation and contribution
from all our members , we have been able to achieve this milestone in all our endeavours.

WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION
Recent Event
Women's Day was celebrated at Good Life CentreOrphanage and Rehabilation centre at Tambaram on
March 12,2012. Biscuits and Rs.2000/- for food were
donated to all the inmates. We visited temples like
Siddhar temple and Eshwaran temple in Madambakkam
and Skandarashram in Tambaram. We had 27 members
actively participating in the event and all of them enjoyed
the various games and they had also won exciting prizes .
VASAVI JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS
Vasavi Jayanthi was celebrated by our members at Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam on
May 01,2012. Special Pooja was performed in the evening and prasadam was distributed.
Our annual Carnival was held at Etiraja Kalyana Nilayam, TTK Road, Chennai on January 8, 2012. We had a very good
gathering for the whole day. Our Chief Guest was Sri. Mukkala Venkata Cunniah Chetty Garu. The highlight of the day
was the inauguration of the youth wing 'YUVA SHAKTHI'. Miss Bhargavi was the representative of the youth wing and
the skit performed by them was truly inspiring for all the members. Our Yuva Shakthi members showed their talents by
conducting a games stall, tattoo painting etc. Our members were carried away by the stall exhibitors who showcased
various products.
Our sabha had initiated the disbursement of medical projects and scholarships to the school, college and professional
course students.
The beneficiaries for the day were : Mrs. J.Parimala received Rs.5000/- towards treatment for breast cancer,
Mr. Pandurangan received Rs.2000/- towards treatment for his head injury, Mrs. D.Jamuna received Rs. 2000/- towards
eye surgery, Mrs. S. Jayalalitha received Rs.2000/- towards treatment for nervous weakness and
Mrs. B. Geetha received Rs. 500/- towards Orthopedic treatment .
Educational Scholarships given during the day for –
Professional Course students – Rs. 18,000/-, College Students – Rs. 33,000/-, School Students – Rs.8500/-,
a total of Rs.59,500/Smt. Anusuya Chakrapani & Sri. Chakrapani donated Rs.10,000/- and Mukkala Andalamma Trust donated
Rs.10,000/- for Educational Endowment.
Various competitions like devotional sloka contest, on the spot designing picture frames with used CD's, decorating
uruli contest, one minute games, quiz and tambola were well participated by our members.
Master Avarthan and Master Nikilesh won the prizes in the devotional slokha competition under 10 years category
and Master Vishal won the prize in above 10 years category.
Mrs. Sangeetha Sriram, Mrs.M. Karunasree and Mrs.G.C. Sulekha bagged the prizes in on the spot designing picture
frames with used cd's. Mrs.G.R. Reena, Mrs.G.C. Sulekha and Mrs.Sangeetha Sriram won the prizes in on the spot uruli
decorating competition.
Our members actively took part in one minute games and tambola.
There was overwhelming response in the current affairs quiz and the team
comprising of Mrs. Sarvamangala, Mrs.K. Prabavathi and Mrs. G.
Bhuvaneshwari won the first prize.
Power Star Dr. S. Srinivasan was the Chief Guest for the evening. The
cultural program performed by KTCT Children was very entertaining and
Veena recital by Mrs. Radha and her students was a treat to all of us. We
thank all the sponsors for their generous and continuous support for our
sabha.

YOUTH WING PROJECTS
All the members gathered and took an initiative to know about our Kuladevatha Sri Kanyaka Parameswari .
Mrs. Meera Sekar our past Chairperson taught them our prayer song, rendered the story and conducted
innovative puzzle game and cleared all their doubts.
Their future plans is to conduct slokha classes, telugu classes , personality development classes to the
tenants in teynampet and computer class to the deaf and dumb, physically challenged handicapped students
who have even failed in 10th std.
