April rally
Sadly this had to be cancelled, as we did not have the 8 riders needed to hold a rally. It is hard on the rally organizer when this
happens and we may need to review our dates when they clash with public dates or big competitions.
May Rally
Is this weekend with Fiona Deering, we only just got enough for it to go ahead.
Notes from BARC meeting on 9th April at Toora pub:
Arena – has been reopened, we still have not received the bill yet.
Future Functions:
 discussed possibilities of having a Dressage comp later in the year, we opted out of September comp as it’s still too wet
at the Grounds usually but thought we might be okay in late October, we could also run a series with Stony Creek or
Leongatha – will discuss further at next meeting.
 General discussion held on lack of attendance at rallies and ways to improve the social aspect of the club, some ideas
were having a BBQ lunch every 2nd rally or so, movie nights, stud visits, shopping trips, a trail ride for all riders if the rally
is cancelled due to the arena being too wet, Equitana bus trip, or run rallies with other clubs such as Stony Creek or
Leongatha over winter. We will have a Xmas in July for our July rally – stay tuned for more info.
Any other suggestions are most welcome.
 Fundraising ideas to recuperate money being spent on arena – carboot sale, cake stall ect.
 Horse Trials will be held at Bennison March 21st and 22nd 2015. Sub committee formed, Elinor, Julie and Deb. Lisa has
booked Event Secretary to take entries, do draw and score on the day so that aspect is covered.
Bendigo Bank Grant – no news
CIPC Kitchen construction is still underway.
Anne getting quotes on CIPC and BARC sign to go at the front of the grounds.
Stony Creek are holding a camp on the long weekend in June (7th and 8th), instructors are Pam Hall and Emily Hill on the
Saturday and Sally Francis and Sue Spurway on the Sunday. $145 for both days food included. Refer attachment for more
info and how to secure your place.

Past Functions:
Kardella Unoffical Dressage – several members competed at this and had a lovely time, see Out and About for individual
results. Kathryn came =1st in the Level 3 Jackpot which was great.
Won Wron Gymkhana – lovely relaxed well run day and Bennison was well presented. Nice to see Fiona and Kerry bringing
out their horses for their first gymkhana outings 
Rally Co-ordinator – Narelle has unfortunately resigned from this role. Thankyou very much Narelle for all your hard work and
effort, we realize that this is a very time consuming role and you have done a brilliant job.
Michelle Boddy has put her hand up to have a go at this until our AGM in October/November. Thankyou Michelle.
Future meetings: June will be our last meeting at Toora, from July until December we will be going to Welshpool Hotel.

RALLY GUIDELINES
Multiple horses at rallies (i.e. lessons on 2 horses), subject to there being space available:
Reminder to members to be in correct uniform at rallies.
Minimum 8 riders to run rally.
·
If less than 8 riders we can open up to allow private and/or invite other HRCAV clubs to attend so the rally can go
ahead.
·
Closing time for booking to ride at a rally is the Monday night prior to rally.
·
Any cancellations after closing day will still have to pay the lesson cost, unless; you can provide a doctors or vet
certificate.
·
Maximum number of riders in a lesson = 4
·
For rallies where Flat & Jumping will take place, these will be separate lessons, usually flat in the morning, jumping after
lunch. 1 lesson = $30, 2 lessons (same combination) = $45.
Code of Conduct BARC wishes members to note that decisions on participation of horses/riders in a lesson shall be at the
discretion of the instructor on that day. The HRCAV Code of Conduct can be found on the HRCAV website.
Care of sand arena- There are a couple of soft spots on arena marked with cones (leave the cones out)– riders should try to

avoid these areas. The arena must be smudged weekly or more often after heavy use. BARC & CIPC need someone to do it
every Sunday or Monday. Any volunteers?? If you are there on these days the keys to shed are available from Elmore’s letterbox
just down the road. Motor bike riders must be licensed and wear a helmet while riding the 4WD bike.
OUT and ABOUT
Ludo and Elinor won Wandin horse trials level 3 and upgraded. 5th in first level 2 at Westcoast horse trials, won Doongala
combined training level 2, had a great fun at Won Wron show.
Beck and Louie – 4th and 2nd and 3rd in JP at Kardella Unofficial Dressage, Louie has been unwell after a reaction to his Hendra
Booster 
Darcy and Duke- 4 x 1st & Reserve Champ Pony Club rider at Won Wron Gymkhana
Julie and Max – 2 x 2nd and 2nd in JP at Kardella Dressage. Won Wron Gymkhana 1 x 6th turnout, 1 x 4th Rider Level 4
Liz – rehabbing full of good intentions but came to naught. Drenched the girls.
Marnie – lol I wish!
Tracey and Gonzo – Won Wron Gymkhana 2 x 1st, 2 x 4th, 2 Champions – very well behaved.
