WHAT IS THE AUSTIN RADIO NETWORK?
The Austin Radio Network is a group of six Austin radio frequencies which are locallyowned and operated. In fact, they are the only locally-owned English language radio
stations in Austin. All of the owners live in the market, and the ARN is managed by popular
Austin air personality Bob Cole, Eric Raines and attorney Jason Nassour. The guiding
principle of The Austin Radio Network is that it strives daily to be local in every way. Its
primary advertisers are considered partners, and the majority of them are locally-owned
businesses. Many are small businesses, and their only affordable market-wide advertising
is on one of these stations. The Austin Radio Network has three (3) very distinctly
programmed products to serve a wide variety of Central Texas listeners.
KOKE-FM is the rejuvenated legendary Austin radio station that started in the early 70’s and brought
national fame to Austin with its progressive country format that featured the likes of Willie Nelson,
Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and friends. The station was an eclectic mix of the music that
decades later would make Austin the Live Music Capital of the World. Today, KOKE-FM features
morning host Bob Cole and Texas Country music that makes Austin very different from Nashville.
KOKE-FM broadcasts on 99.3, 98.5, and 1490 AM.
The HORN is the top-rated Austin sports station. The HORN features live sports talk shows all day
long with local hosts that are long-time market favorites. Mornings are hosted by Bucky Godbolt
and Erin Hogan. NBC Sports, Colin Cowherd and Geoff Ketchum provide mid-day sports
conversation, and afternoons are highlighted by Chad Hastings and Kevin Dunn. These personalities
cover sporting events from local high schools to the pro teams of interest. They are often on site at
major sporting events like the Super Bowl and the Masters. The HORN broadcasts on 104.9 and is
the new Flagship Station for University of Texas Football and other UT sports.
Classic 105.3 serves the Austin market with their favorite songs from across several generations and
decades. The morning show on Classic is hosted by Austin native and 20 year successful air
personality JB Hager. Besides entertaining a loyal audience with current and local info, JB plays the
classic hits from the 60’s to the 90’s. A Classic 105.3 listener will hear great songs from artists like
The Supremes, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elton John, and Journey. There is no other station
like Classic 105.3 in Central Texas.
