"HIMALAYA - TIBET" ROOM - CANNES
Open since December 2009.
The La Castre Museum refurbishment programme
initiated in 2003 to create a new museum display space
for its Oceania, Arctic and pre-Colombian America
artefacts has been complemented by the opening of
a new permanent 30 m2 room dedicated to Himalaya
and Tibet. The museum houses an important collection
of cultural works from these geographical areas. The
creation of the new room will provide an exhibition area
for 70 works, half of which have not been seen by the
general public before.

MUSEE BONNARD - LE CANNET
Opening scheduled for 2011
A new museum devoted to Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947)
is set to open in June 2011 in Le Cannet where the
painter spent the last years of his life. The Hôtel
Saint-Vianney, a town mansion dating from the
beginning of the 19th century situated in the
historic centre of Le Cannet, will house the first institution
devoted entirely to the artist. It will also incorporate a
500 m2 building comprising a 350 m2 exhibition space.
A first exhibition on the theme "Bonnard & Le Cannet"
is set to be inaugurated at the beginning of June 2011.

"LA BASTIDE DU PARFUMEUR" NOW "LES
JARDINS DU MIP" - GRASSE
Since February 1st 2010
The "Bastide du Parfumeur" (Mouans-Sartoux) has
joined forces with the "Musée International de la
Parfumerie" (Grasse). It has changed its name to "Les
Jardins du Musée International de la Parfumerie" (MIP)
under the new slogan: "MIP, le monde du parfum."
The MIP gardens are part of a project by the MIP, the
only public museum dedicated to perfumery worldwide
plus a project to educate people about the scented
flowers and plants of Grasse country.

New museum display and harmonised presentation organised on the museum’s three themes:
communication, treatment, seduction.
This new project will also become an experimental site
(plant walls, natural laboratory, molecular chemistry…),
a kind of observatory for new olfactory notes.

WUNDERMAN COLLECTION - MENTON
Opening scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2011
The city of Menton has made wonderful use of
Séverin Wunderman’s donation to create a new museum
dedicated to the protean poet. The building will
occupy a surface area of 2700 m². It will be situated at the
foot of the old town, opposite the covered market. It is
scheduled to open in the 1st quarter of 2011.
It will comprise permanent and temporary exhibition
areas, an auditorium, a teaching studio, a cultural
centre comprising a cafe and a conference room.
It will house all donated works. On average 300 works,
renewed on an annual basis, will be on display to
visitors.
In order to stand out from the Bastion collections and
present the least known part of the artist’s work, the
new museum will be exclusively devoted to his work
from the years 1910 to 1950. Another original feature,
for the first time, Cocteau’s work will be presented in all
its forms, in particular cinematographic. The content of
the collections will offer a curated tour connecting the
graphic arts and performance arts.

The "Arts Vésubiens" gallery situated in the heart of the
village of Roquebillière is a Mecca for art lovers. This
80m2 space opened to the public in February this year.
Visitors can explore rooms housing exhibitions
displaying creative work and discover works by 28
artists from the valley.
From sculpture using traditional tools, to acrylic and oil
paintings, deft light watercolours, exhibits are designed
to introduce visitors to arts that use a range of different
techniques.
It has a covered exhibition terrace used to display
driftwood or ceramic sculptures made from a mix of
materials, etc.
An enriching discovery of all styles. Accessible to all
visitors of all age.

The refurbishment of the "Suite des Oliviers" is merely
the first phase of the renovation scheme involving all
suites and rooms with sea views at the Hôtel Martinez

Interior designer Marc Hertrich has gone for a "Roaring
Twenties" look, an era in which the 1920s establishment

Since February 15th 2010
Following the departure of Christophe Dié at the
beginning of the year, Alessio Giove has taken over the
management of the kitchens at the Hôtel de Mougins.
Originally from Naples, this 35-year-old chef has had
an eclectic, international career, from 1st commis in
his native Italy to his role of assistant chef at the Four
Seasons at Terre Blanche de Tourrettes (Var) where he
has worked for 2-star Michelin chef, Philippe Jourdin
for the past 6 years. A career which, following work
experience in London, led him to work with some of the
greatest chefs on the French Riviera: Grand Hôtel du
Cap at Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, La Chèvre d’Or at Eze, La
Palme d’Or at Martinez in Cannes.
At Mougins, he joins an establishment whose
gastronomy restaurant was renovated last year which
has its sights set firmly on winning some Michelin stars.

(Miramar Beach Hotel) for several years, Jilali
Berrekama, former protégé of Stéphane Raimbaud of
L'Oasis at La Napoule, has now taken over the former
Auberge du Père Pascal which has changed its name
to Jilali B. In the 1950s, it was one of the gastronomical
haunts of the French Riviera jet set and one of the favourite
restaurants of Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

room decorated in contemporary colours and a large

Arrival of Christophe Dié, former chef at the Hôtel de
Mougins, as head chef at the Tiara Miramar Beach
Hotel "L'Étoile des mers" gastronomy restaurant and
the "Red roc" beach bistrot at Théoule-sur-mer. He
takes over from Jilali Berrekema. Christophe Dié has
forged his experience in some of the capital’s greatest
establishments such as Senderens at Lucas Carton
(3 Michelin stars), Jules Verne (1 Michelin star), Joël
Robuchon at the Laurent (2 Michelin stars). His cooking
style is simple and respectful of original flavours, with a

The spaces at Nice Asian Arts Museum are now
available for hire for private events such as meals,
buffets or cocktail events for up to 250 people.
Its Maison du thé is an original venue ideal for
breakfasts and meetings or conferences (up to 24
people). Traditional Asian demonstrations available
presented by Japanese or Chinese masters (tea ceremony,
Origami, Ikebana workshops, or Chinese calligraphy).
