 cesah ist Kompetenz-, Informations- und
Gründerzentrum für Satellitennavigation
 Gründung beruht auf gemeinsamer Initiative der
Europäischen Raumfahrtagentur ESA und des
Landes Hessen
 Schaffung eines Zentrums für Satellitennavigation
in Darmstadt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum
Europäischen Satellitenkontrollzentrum ESOC
 Ansiedelung im Technologie- und Innovationszentrum Darmstadt zur Ausnutzung von Synergieeffekten mit über 100 jungen (IT-)Unternehmen
 Förderung und Beschleunigung der Marktentwicklung für Anwendungen der Satellitennavigation,
Schaffung von Hochtechnologie-Arbeitsplätzen

Support to Start-Ups
•
Quarterly evaluation in each ESA BIC according to ESA standards and based on business plan and
presentation
•
Upon selection, start-up receives support with the following common approach:
– 25 KEUR cash incentive from ESA/national space agency
– 25 KEUR from partner region (Land Hessen)
– 50 KEUR optional loan from local partner bank (Sparkasse Darmstadt)
•
In addition, Technical Support provided by ESA or ESA contractors (funded by ESOC)
•
Incubation period up to 2 years
•
Until now, 270 start-ups have been supported within the whole network,
more than 50 by cesah at ESA BIC Darmstadt.
•
100 new start-ups are expected in 2015 over the whole network of 11 ESA BICs, 10 in Darmstadt.
