 Workshop: Young Creatives in Medellin: A quest for ‘innovation’ and ‘creativity’ in socially engaged artistic practices and hackerspaces. MUI Theme: Cultural Values & Heritage Concept: We are interested in exploring how cultural heritage in Medellin can be seen afresh through new and emerging creative practices that focus on collaborative and bottom-­‐up values in the making of shared spaces. Main research question: To what extent have the ‘innovative’ city planning approaches and new emerging creative practices included public participation and collaboration in the definition of cultural values and shared spaces in the city of Medellin? Keywords: (social) innovation, creativity, co-­‐creation, collaboration, peer production, sharing, commons, buen vivir Participants: Corporacion Platohedro: a non -­‐profit that functions as a collaborative creative platform. Since 2004, Platohedro has been working towards creation and artistic experimentation, ongoing research on free culture and peer-­‐to-­‐peer training. Their approach is based on buen vivir and buen conocer concepts. Proyecto NN: a project free and open source that aims at building a network for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information on a common theme: the construction of city. Cartografias Sonoras: a collaborative project for documenting, archiving and analyzing the soundscape generated in different areas of Medellin. CS looks at the city as an open laboratory and workshop for social practices. Casa TresPatios: a non-­‐profit contemporary art centre dedicated to experimentation and investigation of contemporary art and artistic practices. Un/loquer: a hackspace for free and open source culture and biohacking. Schedule: one-­‐day workshop; discussions, post-­‐it sessions and fish-­‐ball group discussions
