Hot News
Sorry this site hasn't been updated for a while, I've been really busy in summer school. And starting a tape label
(Friendship Bracelet) and starting a business to self synthesizers (Flower Electronics). Also the second Can't lp
came out on the Belgian label Ultra Eczema! So a lot of things happening right now, well what else is new?
Other items of interest:
I'm visiting South-East Ontario in August, to play shows in Toronto and Hamilton. And maybe London too, hey
where are you? Check on http://www.myspace.com/cant for up-to-the-minute info.
Then right after I get home from that, I leave for Russia, September 4-17. That's with Joe Colley and Kevin Drumm,
and it was set up by Andrew Fenchel from Lampo in Chicago. Speaking of Lampo, I'll be back there November 18.
I think I'll be in Belgium and Finland after that, details tba though -
Can't (eponymous) lp - Ultra Eczema #35
It's out, it's in the world, and actually Dennis sold all his copies already. So get it from your favorite distro now,
because they won't be able to reorder it when you miss out! I also have a VERY limited number of copies, first
come first served. See the order page.
If you want to know more about the lp, it's six songs, recorded in a cathedral, a boathouse, a bathroom, and some
basements. It has a capella, synthesizer, and even a song where I play the piano! That one always makes me cry.
Thurston Moore wrote the liner notes. Thanks Thurston! I thank a bunch of people in the insert already but I also
wanted to thank Phillip Best and my Livingston grandparents.
In news of other records: Vampire Can't cd is out now on Load Records (http://www.loadrecords.com/), lp should
be out in the next few weeks. We played one show which was the unofficial release party, and you can see photos
of the show here http://billtmiller.com/vampirecant thanks to Bill T. Miller.
The cover art is by Matt Brinkman.

I recently built a little blue synthesizer. I sold it to my friend Travis Fuller. He brought it to a summer camp in
Sweden and right now he's blasting it for 12 year olds! Awesome!
I refined the design a little bit, and it's going to be the first product from Flower Electronics: Little Boy Blue. It's a
small synthesizer designed for power electronics! Well the second product, because Flower Electronics is now
taking over the Battery Powered Noise Generator.
Here's a view of the second prototype, a Crown DC300 power amp, and Guignol's Band by Louis-Ferdinand
Celine. What's the connection you may ask? As you may notice, this prototype resembles the Screamo Synth I
built for Josh Hydeman, suggesting it's probably good for screaming. Everyone who likes to play noise knows that
the Crown is about the best amp you can get. But if you want to understand noise philosophically, reading
Guignol's band will probably help out! It's like the most confused sensory overload imaginable. That copy is in
French, good luck, I couldn't even understand the first sentence!
Recently I've had assistance in building instruments from my associate Nathan Trites. You may also know him
from the Gameboy band Timeheater. No, not Mike Shiflet's label Gameboy, I mean he actually plays a Nintendo
gameboy. It's not quite as gay as you'd expect! Actually it gets pretty tough! He claims he "quit" the band now, but
we all know how that goes! Just look at Can't!

So I decided to make Friendship Bracelet a tape-only label. The first two releases are out now: Bone Rattle and
Crown Now. Bone Rattle is Travis (the same one who got the synth) and Ryan from Dreamhouse. It's electronics
and drums, super heavy. My favorite part is when they start yodeling though! Crown Now is Miles and Anna. It's
mostly screaming and talking in funny voices, but there's some really primitive "scratching" also. They think of
themselves as a hiphop band, but really it's closer to early Suckdog, but from the point of view of a nerd rather than
a sexual extrovert. Next two tapes will be Haflings (brutal teenage power electronics) and Captains of English
(blown out high school garage jams). Supposedly on deck later on are Lexie Mountain, Val, Josh Hydeman, and
everyone else good, but don't hold your breath!
The other tape in the photo is Lush Life, which is the last of my solo tapes in the series with Wiped Away, Long
Slow Changes, and No Touching. In the end I just did it myself, it's IRFP #13.
Order Page:
