Investigator: List of dishwashers that caught fire
A class-action lawsuit claims that hundreds of homeowners have had dishwashers that spontaneously caught fire because of a defective design that the manufacturers have ignored for at least
four years.
The lawsuit specifically accuses Whirlpool and Sears, Roebuck & Co. of designing and selling dishwashers that the companies knew were defective as early as 2008.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is currently investigating, while the manufacturers have
yet to issue a recall involving those dishwashers.
Channel 3 News has combed through the lawsuit to identify the models specifically mentioned.
Here's the list by brand and model number:
Kenmore

This group meets the third Thursday of each month,
except for June, July & August when there is no
meeting. The program always begins at 11 a.m. sharp
and lunch begins at noon. The meeting is always held
at the 356th Fighter Group at 4919 Mt. Pleasant St.
NW, next to the Akron-Canton Airport. Cost of lunch is
$12 and guests are always welcome.
It seems we are unable, due to the “timing” of the
newsletter being sent out and determining the speaker
for these meetings, to be able to list the topic of discussion. When able we will print the topics.
