The Bucharest University of Economics
The Bucharest University of Economics
(yes, “ASE” is Romanian for “BUE”)
The Bucharest University of Economics
 The oldest institution of superior economic
studies – it was founded through a Royal
Decree on April 6th, 1913 issued by King Carol Ist
of Hohenzollern (pictured)
 The decree gave shape to what some of the
most distinguished economic minds at that time envisioned –
a Romanian Academy inspired by the Western Business Schools
and Commercial Academies
 Initially named the Academy of High Commercial and
Industrial Studies, in changed its name to its current form in
1967

International Business and Economics

The Faculty of International Business
and Economics is one of the 10
Faculties of the Bucharest University
of Economics. It is the main higher
education institution dedicated to
providing specialized education in the
area of International Economics and
Business.

The IBE Faculty is one of the few
higher education institutions in
Romania that also provide a complete
educational program in foreign
languages, in the form of a series of
courses taught exclusively in English.

Starting with the 4th semester, students can opt for one of the three specialization
packages (each of which focuses on 4 specific subjects) oriented towards the 3 fields that
are considered to represent fundamental lines of specialization in international business
and economics: Internationational Business, International Finance, and International
Economics .

Apart from the mandatory and elective subjects (associated with the packages), students
may also choose other, optional, subjects taught both by the members of the Faculty
Departments and by other Departments of the Bucharest University of Economics.

Bucharest’s canteens 5 RON
