My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Peter’s Pence
Collection is an opportunity to become a witness
of charity to those who suffer most. Pope Francis
has encouraged us to “open our eyes and see the
misery of the world, the wounds of our brothers
and sisters who are denied their dignity, and let
us recognize that we are compelled to heed their
cry for help!” (Misericordiae Vultus, [MV]
no. 15).
Through the Peter’s Pense Collection, we stand
in solidarity with Catholics all over the world to
support the cheritable works of our Holy Father.
Contributions to this collection support
Pope Francis as he reaches out to those suffering
the effects of war and violence, natural disasters,
and religious persecution.
Pope Francis has told us that “mercy is the force
that reawakens us to new life and instills in us
the courage to look to the future with hope”
(MV, no. 10). Please prayerfully consider
participating in this collection and becoming
a witness of charity, a force of mercy that reaches
out to those around the world.

Next week, Our Lady of Lourdes diocese will take up the
Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides Pope Francis with
the funds he needs to carry out his charitable works around
the world.
The proceeds benefit our brothers and sisters on the
margins of society, including victims of war, oppression,
and disasters. Join our Holy Father
as a witness of charity to those who are suffering.

We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable with the computer and email to join our team of Holy
Hour Captains. We have a lot of organizing to do in order to manage the list of adorers and to update it as new
adorers join in. We want to improve communication in order to assist when someone is on vacation or away
and when someone would like to change the day or hour of their Holy Hour.
