FSU out-gained the Eagles 411y-399, but big runs by
DSophomore Montel Harris did in the Noles in the 2nd
half. Pro Baseball player turned QB Dave Shinskie
passed for 203 yards and was especially effective on
3rd down. Harris---from Jacksonvile rushed for a career
high(at that time) 179 yards on 25 carries.
FSU receiver Bert Reed had 107y receiving and threw
a flanker pass to Caz Piurowski for a 2 pt conversion to
tie the game at 21-21.
On the next series in the 4th Qtr, Harris romped 42y for
the winning TD
Christian Ponder playted hurt, and the offense never
got going as FSU ground out a hard earned victory
over the Eagles. FSU’s Defense allowed just 1 TD(Intc
Return by Jim Noel) and 4 FGs (Nate Freese). Bert
Reed ran a 32 yard rerverse for the winning TD with
10:50 left in the game.

when he picked off a Matt Ryan pass and returned it
38y for a TD. Noles won despite Ryan passing for 415
yards. FSU gained 458 yards---only 83 on the ground

Weatherford pass and returned it for
a TD just before halftime to cap a 21
point 2nd quarter. Tribbles TD return
came just :31 secons after the Eagles
had taken a 14-10 lead.

yards rushing; FSU wore Black Uni’s

Playing second straight home game….NOles Defense dominated. NC State came into
game averaging 370.6 yards of offense,, but c\gained just 166 in suffering first shutout
since 2007(Maryland). EJ Manuel Passes for 321yards and a pair of TDs. Lonnie Pryor
and DeVonta Freeman scored rushing TDs---Freeman became first FR to rush for a TD in
3 straight games since Sammy Smith in 1986.

Rolandan Finch rushed for 243 yards in sleet and snow to pound Terps into submission.
The 243 yards rushing are the 3rd most in BC history. Luke Kuekly led the Eagles defense

Was named the Defensive MVP in the
Noles 26-17 win over South Carolina in the
Chik-fil-A Bowl. His vicious hit on SEC
Rookie ofd the Year Marcus Lattimore that
caused a fumble is considered by many to
be the turning point in the game. Lattimore
did not return to the game. In the game,
Reid forced a pair of fumbles and had 4
pass break-ups.
Reid set a FSU record for KOR
yards….he ranked 5th in the ACC with a 23.9 average(30-724y). He averaged
10.1 yards per punt return and scored on a 74y punt return against Samford.
His 65 Tackles ranked 5th on the team----54 solo hits ranked 2nd
Reid led the nation as a Freshman in 2009 with 18.4 yrd average per punt return.
He became the first Seminole since Clifton Abraham in 1992 to return a punt and
an interception for TDs in the same season. He had a 63y Interception treturn TD
at BYU and a 68 yard P-Return @ Wake Forest.
