no longer require a routine. In addition to our Male Fitness Model category, ANB will also be introducing a

WHAT SEPERATES A SWIMSUIT MODEL FROM A FEMALE FITNESS MODEL?
DIVISIONS
This is a very important question that needs clarification because athletes need to have a clear criterion on
what the judges will be looking for the day they step on stage. The major difference between a model and a

too lean and not quite lean enough so next up we will go over the criteria in greater detail.
SWIMSUIT MODEL
FITNESS MODEL
FIGURE COMPETITIOR
S W I M S U I T M O D E L S are to depict a picture of health to the general public however they must still have
some athleticism about themselves. Models are not expected to be lean and defined though they must still
have a toned body and good figure. Models are judged on their physical appearance, beauty, body shape
and tone, presentation, confidence, cat walk, stage presence and marketability.
Depending on the number of competitors, this division may be spit into height categories.
F E M A L E F I T N E S S M O D E L are expected to be leaner than the Model category however not totally
defined in all areas as would be expected in the Figure Category. Fitness Model competitors must have a
very toned and taut body and leaner in the abdominal area than the Swimsuit Model, however still requires
to have a womanly figure. Less detail and definition is required to that of a figure competitor and the
delineation between the fitness model and figure competitor is the level of definition and muscle separation
in the torso and limbs (both arms and legs). If a competitor has very defined arms, legs and back they
would be better suited to the Figure Category.

MALE MODELS CATAGORIES
Difference between a Male Fitness Model & the NEW Muscle Model Division
This is a very important question that needs clarification because athletes need to have a clear
criterion on what the judges will be looking for the day they step on stage. The major difference
between a male fitness model and the new Muscle Model division is primarily determined by the
size of the athlete. Athletes displaying particularly larger legs and overall larger muscular size
would be more suited to the Muscle Model division.
Posing all male Models
Both Male model divisions must keep posing very relaxed as it is not a body building division. Male models
can use some bodybuilding poses as long as its kept to a minimum. Ab and bicep posing are great for this
division. The idea is to look as though your having fun with each round displaying a bit of your personality.

As a Bikini or Fitness model posing and presentation is one of the key element. As you move across the stage to perform your
poses ensure you stop and display grace as you move through your transitions. Hold your poses for at least 2-3 seconds.
Competitors who move way to quickly are not making the most of their time or allowing the judges to have a good look at them.
There is no set way or compulsory way to pose as a sports or fitness model, however it is extremely important to keep the
poses tasteful and complimentary to your body type. Remember this is the fitness industry and we want to give it the respect it
