Event Options
Pretty Estates Resort has two uniquely different reception areas,
accommodating from up to 150 guests. We offer a number of dining
options - buffet dinners, plated entrées, barbeque buffets, cocktail parties,
luncheon and breakfast buffets and luncheon & breakfast buffets and
corporate meetings. We offer event facilities year-round.

General Event Details
Pretty Estates Resort has a highly experienced and professional team
that takes pride in the quality of their functions. They will make sure that
you and your guests have a memorable experience.
Our Executive Chef and his team create fresh mouth-watering meals
using herbs from our very own garden.
Tables are dressed in white linens and set with
cutlery and glassware.
With the exception of speciality cakes, outside food and beverage
may not be brought onto the property.
Events may take place until 12 am. Guests must depart
the property by 12:30 am.
You are welcome to decorate the event facility.
Decorating can begin at 10 am the day of the event.
Decorating guidelines set out in our Policies and
Procedures section must be adhered to.

Wedding Event Details
Food & Beverage
With the exception of specialty cakes, all food and beverages served must be
provided by Pretty Estates Resort. Banquet food is not permitted to leave the banquet
facilities based on health regulations.
In order to guarantee your selections, please provide your menu and wine choices
to the Events Coordinator 4 weeks prior to your event. The client is responsible for
making sure this information is received on time. Modifications to menus must be
arranged with the Event Coordinator. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 are
billed at 50 percent of the buffet menu price. Children 5 and under do not have a
cost associated with the buffet dinner. Regular, per person pricing applies for all
plated meals served to children.
It is the responsibility of the client to advise the final guaranteed number for the
banquet to the Events Coordinator by noon, 10 days in advance. If no guarantee is
received, Pretty Estates Resort will prepare and charge for the number of persons
estimated on the catering contract or the actual number attending, whichever is
greater.
In accordance with BC liquor laws, all alcoholic beverages must be purchased by
Pretty Estates Resort through the BC liquor Distribution Branch, and consumed in
licensed areas. Corkage fees are $20 per bottle. Bar costs are not included in package
pricing.
Music
By law, if there is dancing or the playing of music we must collect and remit a
SOCAN fee (Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada). Based
on our liquor licence all music must stop when the bar closes.

Decorating
You are welcome to decorate the event facility. Decorating of the event facility may
begin at 10 am the day of the event.
Please remember
•
The use of confetti, rice, glitter, birdseed, silly string and rose petals is
prohibited on the grounds and in the banquet area.
•
Only enclosed candles can be used.
•
No items may be affixed to the walls, ceilings, posts or doors with nails, tape,
glue or staples.
•
Please note Pretty Estates Resort staff does not ‘decorate’ the facilities.
•
There will be a $250 cleaning charge for failure to comply.
Specialty Cakes
As Pretty Estates does not have a bakery department speciality cakes must be
purchased through outside vendors. After the organizers cake presentation, at no
extra charge, our team will be happy to cut pieces and arrange them on platters for
guests to help themselves. A $2 per person charge applies should you wish to have
the cake plated and served individually to each of your guests.
Facility Damage
Non-Exclusivity
The contractee will be responsible for any damage to Pretty Estates Resort property
during their event and is responsible for the actions and conduct of their guests.
Pretty Estates Resort is a public venue and is under no obligation to close off any
area of the property to accommodate an event. We do not guarantee that other
events will not be booked at Pretty Estates Resort on the day of the event.
Restrictions
Holding a Date
Pretty Estates Resort will hold a date, without a deposit, for up to two weeks. Please
let us know if you no longer need the date. A hold on a date does not guarantee you
the date. We will make a reasonable attempt to contact you if someone else is ready
to proceed with booking this date. You will have 48 hours to decide whether to
secure the date by putting down a deposit or to release the date to the other party.
Please ensure we have your current contact information. A signed contract with a
deposit and valid credit card number is required in order to secure a booking.
Neither the contractee nor their guests are permitted to bring any alcoholic
beverages onto the property or to take alcoholic beverages purchased at Pretty
Estates Resort outside the designated consumption areas as outlined by the Liquor
Control Board. In the event of a breach of this term, the Organizer will take
responsibility for any resulting injury or damage.
Limitation of Pretty Estates Resorts’ Liability
The organizer is responsible to ensure that the organizer and their guests:

Deposit & Payments
Act responsibly regarding the consumption of alcohol and do not drive a motor
vehicle if his or her ability to do so is impaired by alcohol or drugs
•
The date requested will not be reserved until a deposit and a signed contract have
been received and processed by Pretty Estates Resort. The amount of the deposit is
30 % of the package price.
Do not consume alcohol in the parking lot, or any party of Pretty Estates
Resort that is not licensed for liquor consumption
•
Do not use any intoxicating or illegal substance in the area
•
Do not provide alcoholic beverages to a person under 19 years of age
At least one week prior to the event the total estimated cost of all food and pre-paid
beverage must be paid. This amount includes all food & beverage, rental charges,
taxes and service charges.
Any remaining charges will be paid upon check out the following morning.
Pretty Estates Resort is not liable for loss or damage to goods, property or equipment
brought on the property by the host or their guests. The organizer will indemnify
and save Pretty Estates Resort harmless from liability for the organizer’s failure to
ensure that the organizer and their guest comply with the conduct required.
Cancellation
Policy Violations
In the event of a cancellation made 6 to 12 months prior to the event date, Pretty
Estates Resort will refund 50 % of the original 30 % deposit.
In the event of a cancellation made less than 6 months prior to the event date, no
portion of the deposit will be refunded unless Pretty Estates Resort is able to rebook
the date, in which case we will refund 50% of the deposit to the organizer.
Pretty Estates Resort reserves the right to inspect and monitor all events and to
discontinue service in the event that a violation of any facility policy or provincial
law occurs. In any such case the host is still liable for any outstanding balances.
Deliveries & Set Up
By pre-arrangement Pretty Estates Resort will accept delivery of materials required
for your function, no earlier than one day prior. All items must be clearly labelled
