I’d Rather Have You, Vulnerable, Catalina Sunrise, Silver Lining Girl, Suck It Up, A Cowboy’s
Heart, Angeline, and Heartbreak Song - these are just some of the titles that have earned Sean Hogan
the accolades he’s received over his career as both a songwriter and a singer. Spoken of by fans, peers
and industry alike as being an earthy, soulful, honest voice, Sean’s music has been balanced between
contemporary Country and cosmic cowboy rock. Pick any of his albums and you’ll quickly hear the truth in his
songs; and you will feel the heart that is revealed, an affirmation to the compelling quality of Sean Hogan’s
sound.
No stranger to winning awards for his music. Hogan has won multiple national Canadian Country Music
Association (CCMA) awards including 1997 Independent Male Artist of the Year and 2003 Roots Artist of the
Year. Regional awards such as Back-to-Back Best Country Album awards from the West Coast Music Awards,
in both 2001 for “Hijacked” and then again in 2002 for the album “Late Last Night”, 2002. In addition to
these Sean has scored provincial Country Music Association awards like the 2005 Saskatchewan Male Artist
of the Year, Best Music Video, and earlier on in British Columbia with Rising Star Awards. Hogan has enjoyed
profile with music videos too. His releases have chalked up a remarkable 18 videos on CMT to date.
Sean Hogan
The Dark Horse
In his native Canada, Hogan has more than
once been seen as the “dark horse” contender.
Recording 7 albums over the past 15 years,
Sean has scored with hit singles in Canada, and
received notable radio airplay in the US. Sean’s
current single Phoenix, the title track from this
inspiring record, was written before he was
diagnosed but seems to speak for his triumph
over cancer that he rose from this year.

In 2004, inspired by a song he had written called “It’s Christmas Time,” Sean began the Canadian Country
Christmas tour. Now an annual touring event, to date the tour efforts have raised more than $100,000 for
various national community charities, such as hospital foundations, food banks, child development groups, cancer
research drugs, and many service groups including the United Way and Kinsmen and Kiwanis groups as well.
The years of 2006, 2007 and 2008 were filled with shows, recording, albums made, and singles being
released to radio. Sean never expected Manchester England’s, Line Dancer Magazine to be taking an interest
in his music. They sure did however and as a result internationally recognized choreographers around the
world began writing dance steps to at least 3 songs from Hogan’s 2007 Canadian release of the Southern
Sessions album. On a personal front in the fall of 2008 Hogan learned he would be Dad for the third time just
as he was readying the release in the U.S. of Southern Sessions.
Through 2009 and 2010 Hogan released his first Country album and first singles to U.S. Country radio, two
singles charted well on independent charts. In 2011, the single Travel Plans has already gone top 40 and
indeed top 10 by May 2011 in Country Music News. The video, shot in Southern California, stars Amber
Marshall from the CBC series Heartland.
Released in March of 2012, Sean’s new album “Phoenix” is a career record. “When you make an album this
good it transcends genres…well written, soulful tracks…if there is a better country album than this in 2012, I
will be surprised” – John Emms, Music Journalist and Radio Host
In the past decade, Sean Hogan has had three albums in the top 12 albums of the year in the internationally
distributed magazine Country Music News.
